that is an accurate description of my computer. my computer crashes, hangs, restarts without warning, games stop working while playing them(this includes freecell and inkball, different sections if vista stop working and restart. 37 of my problem reports are windows related and none have a solution and the ones that it says have a solution don't make difference(i have 3 of these)and relate to graphics card. i would of least thought that a year after it was released there would be only small or minor problems by now. yes i have all updates of all my computer components including optional updates.

The object is being created just fine. I can use other methods on the object successfully like GetText_. I have found no documentation that says Put_ shouldn't work.

Unlike usual my computer has gone crazy...by that i mean it crashes frequently, laggy, Deep freezes. I fully scanned my computer with Norton 360 and Malwarebytes and didn't find any infections by virus/trojans, also i consult with a Hijack This log analyzer and he gave a green light. So i was wondering if anyone have a solution for this..... i am using Hp pavallion 500 GB hd with Windows Vista 64 bit SP2 and i have 64 processes(all seem legit) running in my computer when i click view all process running under taskmanager.
We tried to restart the computer manually, but to no avail. Vista loaded Windows, but before prompting me with a login screen, it dumbed again. We then tried to boot it in safe mode. Everything works fine there, so we tried to reboot normally again. Another dumb. We tried yet again, after removing the disc. Nothing. Since then we've tried system recovery to set it back a few days, we've tried to let it repair itself, we've tried to unplug everything (everything - mouse, keyboard, sound - everything but the monitor). The monitor, by the way, have some weird lines running down the screen, which notably aren't there when booting in safe mode.

I am having problems with my computer randomly crashing. Didnt have a clue what was causing it. So I decided to: update all my drivers that I could think to update (used device manager to do so). I cleaned my computers inside. Updates my virus scanner - am protected. (Avast) cleaned my registery (I used a downloaded registry cleaner from a computer magazine website, they reviewed it, and i tried it) Disk Defrag used. Finally found some info when my computer crashed. Went online to find information and got some software that helped me get more info about my problems. (see attachments)....
I have started tinkering with the built in Windows Speech Recognition within my Vista operating system. I find it quite novel that you can talk to the screen and your words come out on it. Granted that I have cheated at times when it goes wrong and I have to type in corrections but I was wondering if there are any experts out there who could tell me how to make this more accurate?
I have also invested in a program called Dragon Naturally Speaking and loaded it onto my machine today. I started tinkering with this but I believe I have to learn completely different commands to that of Windows Speech Recognition.

I have a new HP Laptop that I have had about three months and it has a 100GB hard drive in it. I am looking at the available disk space left on the drive it shows only 10GB left and I have hardly loaded any software or data to this computer. how can I quickly figure out. where that data is stored so i can see if it is able to be removed?
I currently have a whole heap of avi files and I want edit the file descriptions in order to include details like, year, comments, director etc. However when I try to access them the regular way Right click>Properties>Details the only details listed are relating to the actual video data properties. All of the details pane is locked and it wont allow me to change them. For my mp3 files i have no problem putting in the settings I want.
I updated to a new nvidia display driver and now quite a few of the icon on the desktop do not match the description. For example Outlook 2007 has the Winzip Icon. Some of them I can can by deleteing and then re-creating the shortcut, other I can't. I tried the systems restore feature but it failed. It there some easy way to fix this?
I have a process that has only recently appeared (I haven't installed anything) which is name bixfshw.exe, the description is Domptai and its product name is 'filet'? Does anyone know what this process is, or how to stop it starting up. I have also ended the process, and nothing happens to my computer, and it all still runs fine.

I've been running Vista for about a year. At various times I will open something and it seems that there are "boxes" with red x's and a description. I imagine it is a security thing. Is there someway to shut it off or am I better off leaving it alone. As an example, if I hit the start button and then "help and support" I will get these x's.
i have only just signed up, so not sure if this is the 100% correct place to post but here goes. I think someone has gained remote access of some kind to my computer, and retrieved a file. Originally based on what i heard through the very thin floor of my room. I.e. i think my housemates got at it and i would like to know for definite as it contains rather sensitive and personal information.
I am not an expert with IT but i will try to explain a little, and will try to answer any further questions to get to the bottom of it. Around 2 months back i noticed a small brown or red icon on my toolbar at the bottom of the screen (perhaps someone might be able to recognise a method from this scrappy description?), this read something along the lines of "connected to -PC",? being the name of a housemate. I terminated the link and confronted them but they deny this. Secondly i have noticed that windows remote access has been enabled, and after some reading up i have found that this is not enabled by default, and as i know very little about software, and know i havent touched it, then this cant be me?

I finally decided to upgrade to Vista, and since I have 4GB ram I thought I'd give 64bit a shot. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......
Before the computer actually came to the point of "shuting down just before it tried to load the o/s" it literrly kept shuting down on its own randomly for a week or so. Basically it's telling me the DRIVE is corruptet! Well, I plugged that SATA 2 HDD into my other computer (windows xp), detected it correctly and actually formated the drive and reinstalled XP on it without any types of problem. Does it still mean - SATA 2 is corrupted or broken!? How about the RAM then ... indeed, I did run the MemTest for 7 times and no errors were found. So the RAM are ok in this case, or am I wrong?! Maybe it's the PSU... ermmm no that cannot be 'cos the computer never shuts down, if I leave it run for (e.g 5 hours) and even if it's comes to "overheating" that cannot be the case eather, as its *again" never shuts down when you leave it run on the power.........
When I reboot my computer through Windows the computer shuts down correctly, but then the monitor remains black and the bios starts beeping out the error code for "VGA not detected". Why would this be? I am forced to press the power button and wait from 5 to 10 minutes to reboot normally. (I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64, have an ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard and a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 280. 800 watts ZION power supply) Is this a BIOS settings or GPU problem? I already reseated the GPU. Could it be a power supply failure?
I am using windows vista ultimate x64, and in random times when i am playing some games like worldd of warcraft, oblivion, PES 2009 etc. the computer freezes and the screen becomes full of squares of the last image i saw before the computer crashed (like: if i was casting a spell in world of warcraft i would see that very screen but with little squares, can't really describe it as it's weird). I tried re-installing video drivers and i made sure they are for x64 vista version. My computer spec is:

I'm new to this forum, but I already some topics that are of some interest to me. I tried to find a solution for my problem, but I couldn't find any... I try to play Warcraft III and Fifa 09 and they bouth crash...Fifa verry fast and Warcraft in 10-15 minutes. The problem is identical - my computer freezes and some pixels go bannanas....i have the latest graphic card driver, recently installed latest DirectX and still no sollution... i have no idea how much information ya'll will need, so i'm gonna try to put as much as i can. forgive me if its too much. in short, while playing company of heroes my system randomly locks up, loops the last sound (usually gunfire) and the monitor goes completely white, olive/green, or blue. this usually happens after about an hour of playing. i read up on the problem, and found out that many people were having the same trouble i was. i've tried turning off dx10 and changing all of the visuals to 'high' (no ultra) which apparently has cured many other peoples' coh crashes...but it hasn't cured mine. to make matters worse, my system just crashed for the first time outside of coh today, while i was watching Internet. once again, an audio loop, and a wsod.
people have said that installing dx9 is the way to go, but that seems silly to me...and whats the deal with all these new colors of death? is microsoft trying to be a bit more colorful these days, or do they mean something? now, i wasn't really concerned about the crashes until it happened when i was surfing the web---these crashes had never happened during my marathon sessons of farcry2, or outside of coh...until today.......
I bought FM 2009 and today I finaly received it. But everty time I try to launch FM 2009 with Steam my PC crashes and turns into a blue screen with some text. it says delete the software which you just used. so I tryed to delete FM 2009 but I got the same message. some more info:

About 2 months ago I installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my PC. About 2 weeks ago it starting rebooting sometimes when I open something like an image file or even Internet Explorer. It doesn't happen evey time and only happens about once a day (but only when I go to open something). I want to figure this out so that I don't lose any data or end up with some data corruption. I have run the Windows memory diagnostic tool and it didn't find any issues. The only event in the Event viewer that even related to the issue, was an event logged after it finished rebooting that stated the PC was shutdown improperly.
Its been about 3 months now since i've been using vista and unlike my previous experience with other OS vista 64 is the worst of all........It crashes alot comparing to other OS and also it has a lot of incompatibly issues by that i mean here is a problem i am having nowdays with this Vista thingy OS. I already have .netframe 3.5 installed and still this application as well as some other works smoothly on other OS crashes on Vista. And due to these regurlar basis problem i think i might wanna give up and install either Linux or Ubuntu.
Keep getting APPCRASHES from all sorts of applications, ranging from Skype, to IE 7 and Microsoft Money. After watching these crashes for months, and using Process Explorer, it seems the common thread of the crashes is that OLE32.DLL is pointed to each time.
every time I start my computer, a message pops up and it says Windows explorer has crashed, and there are similar problems like this where people said that it was a loop, but this is no loop, the message pops up and it says that it has crashed, and it goes to windows search indexer has stopped working.

Clean reinstall of Vista only two days ago, the program functioned correctly on the previous installation of Windows Vista. A friend connected via TeamViewer, and the program launched and functioned with no problems, its only when I attempt todo so.

i have vista home premium 64 bit installed on sony vaio fw 170(ram-4gb). Few days ago it got infected with agent2,ofg. Avg removed the threat. But ever since then, it is crashing/freezing/hanging randomly. I thought it might have more infections so I scanned with a-squared, malwarebytes and sophosrootkit: no infection was found.
