I'm using Windows Vista Home, downloaded the new Windows Live Mail, cos i need to access my hotmail (Windows Mail does not support). However, i am only able to read the "header & sender" of each message. The content cannot be shown. Error message:WINDOWS LIVE MAIL encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. CHeck your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.
I've been searching thru the net trying to find a solution to this for a few days already. Basically tried everything others suggested, but still no help. Some of the steps i tried:
1. Manually configure server settings for e-mail account. --> HTTP server
2. deleting everything in C:Documents and SettingsLiamLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftWindows Live Mail
3.uninstall & reinstall Windows Live Mail
4.disable antivirus & firewall etc
5.sign in to hotmail (using www.hotmail.com) -some say this need to be done the 1st time
6. i tried so many things, i dont really remember However, there's no problem accessing gmail with Windows Live Mail.

This just started a couple of days ago. Prior to yesterday my home page would reload after logging out of Hotmail. I have tried deleting all MSN and MSN Live cookies but nothing works. How do I get rid of MSN taking me to their BING Search Page without my consent after singing out of Hotmail.
The problem is wlm don't log in with the new passwords I get the Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (account name) account. The sign-in name you entered doesn't exist, or your password is incorrect. Server Error: 0x80048821........
View 9 Replies View RelatedThere were plenty of reasons to avoid moving to Vista, but I've done so under duress: my laptop died and Vista is the only 64-bit system installed on PCs these days. Unfortunately, I CANNOT set the program called Windows Live Hotmail as my default mail program. Under the topic of Hotmail and Vista, the only postings on this are dated to 2007. Surely someone has configured a system with this revised version of Hotmail. It runs on this computer, but is not recognized as a setting for default.
I DO NOT want Windows Live Mail. I DO NOT want Outlook, I DO NOT want Microsoft Windows... Been there, done that. Does anyone have a work around, or must I strip Vista and load XP? So far I've wasted ten days trying to deal with Vista. This is about to push me over the edge and back to XP!
I have been using Windows Mail for my Yahoo addresses and by right clicking on the W.M. icon in the programme list above the start button I put a shortcut on to the desktop that has been working very well. Today I have combined Yahoo and Hotmail addresses under the WLM umbrella. But I cannot find how to make a shortcut. Nowhere can I find the relevant WLM icon to make a shortcut from. Obviously I am missing something, somewhere, but what is it?

Now it seems like here in MS mail I can't set up my MSN.com Hotmail account. I get some sort of msg. saying the format is no longer supported. Can someone tell me what settings I need to put in? I tried MS Live and that seems to only take MS Hotmail. Outlook 2k7 is also balking at me. I'd like to get all mail in 1 place. I have looked at “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionProfileList” and I don't see the Guest account at all (SID missing). I don't know what the value should be nor how I can recover it. When I try to logon as Guest the system comes back with: Unable to Login due to "User Profile Service" failure. "The User Profile Service service failed the login. User Profile cannot be loaded." It seems that there should be a way to recover these predefined or standard logins. I don't want to do a system restoral as I have my system the way I want it (except for this problem with Guest) that I want to avoid any possibility of mistakes.

This is approx the 3rd or 4th time that it happened and I am getting concerned about the security of my account. I am so embarrassed to all my contacts because they are receiving e-mails which are actually not from me. I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.

I cannot send mails via my hotmail e-mail address for approximately two months; when I try to send one I get a notification saying that I have to activate my hotmail account. When I click on the link to activate it and enter the confirmation code as required I get a page with a error code on it. How can I solve this issue if needed I can provide additional details.

When I connect to the DVR Machine, through RDC (remote desktop connection)on my local network, I am able to see all the files and open the SuperDVR software. I am unable to see the live video feeds through the RDC. I am able to view any older recordings which are saved as avi files. I am able to make changes to settings in the SUpreDVR software, just not see the live video.

I go to control panel, under program, I saw those with window live xxx and i remove it but i cant uninstall/change window live essentials and i cant find the Window Live Messenger there. I exit the icon that appear at the bottom of the screen. I even remove it from the program. But after i restart the PC, Window Live Messenger appears again.
i just installed the latest windows live mail beta software client and i wanted to know how do i get junk mail to be displayed automatically ? before it would show automatically on the layout of the reading pane to the right of the message list but now i have to click to open them because they wont show in the reading pane like they did before

With xp you can press control/alt/delete to get a login screen up then login using the administrator account. On vista the administrator account is showing as a icon on the login screen. I dont want this to be visible, any ideas how to hide this?. I saw a registry hack but this removes the icon but it seems in doing so there is then no way to login without the icon.

When I was using 32 bit Vista I had all my Hotmail folders, newsgroups, calendar, etc. when I selected the Mail icon. Is there a way to migrate Hotmail to Windows Mail, or a way to replace Windows Mail with what I had when I was using 32 bit Vista? I had IE 8 with 32 bit and I have IE 8 with 64 bit.

I have to open my accounts online and when I have opened the accounts both mail and live mail will then down load messages, This does not happen all of the time, so I know the account settings are correct. It is just annoying that I have to check online every day rather than just checking mail or live mail. Two days ago it suddenly decided that it required me to sign in to be able to retrieve/send my mail. I have entered my username and the correct password in a whole heap of different ways but it just keeps rejecting anything I type in even though I know that they are correct. I have even checked all the settings against my husband's computer and they are the same other than the username and yet he can still use his Windows Mail account but I can't - it is so infuriating considering that I run a business from home and I need access!

No idea what caused this, it was working fine, I closed and opened it, it suddenly wanted username/password for both accounts. Repeatedly entering it via the popup or the accounts window, checking and unchecking the remember password button, using ok button or apply button, nothing seems to help. I can just leave it running obviously, but if I close and reopen it, or restart my machine, I have to type them in again, which is a pain.

Today I logged on after not being on for a week and now windows security is asking for a logon name and password. What the heck happened? I have been slowly downloading the updates and yes I am behind in downloading them. I am on dialup so it takes a while to download them. Is this some type of new security? I don't want to lose the emails I have by setting up a new account.
