I am having a really crappy time trying to install this one program onto my comptuer. I dont understand this error i keep getting. (The error says " Installer user interface mode not supported. Unable to load and to prepare the installer in GUI mode") I am getting really upset and i do need this program installed very badly.

This above has not worked for me. I have a 64bit vista under parameters they have dword which is for 32bit and qword for 64bit I chose qword but i was not able to type in IRPStactSize so I'm stuck. I just bought a pc to tv software and the requirements to watch it is that I have to have the latest media player 11 which I already have and the latest real player which I already have and .NET framework 2.0 which I already have and you have to have windows installer 3.1 which I do not have. This is the only thing preventing me from watching my pc to tv software. So can somebody help me download this windows installer 3.1 onto my 64bit machine.
I can't seem to be able to installer the Hyper-V Manager on my Windows Vista Business x64 with SP2. I have enabled the RSATs and it is not one of the options. so i have downloaded the patches from KBs 970203, 941314, 952627. View 9 Replies View RelatedI loaded a program called GO Contact Sync. It is freeware and it is supposed to sync Outlook contacts with gmail contacts. It fails to sync and I get an error message; Error: Unable to load DLL 'zlib x86.dll' The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
I did leave a message for the developers, but I thought I would try this forum also. The zlib x86.dll seems to be related to file compression. I have verified that no zlib DLL is anywhere on my computer. I can find zlib.dll files on the web, but I can't find any reference as to what to do with them.
I have tried to load a controler profile for the game but i failed and i have given up. Now when i play the game the character is stuck in the up position aiming up and i am unable to move at all. Is there action I can take?

However programs i already had on my hdd install fine. I have not yet had time to test a 64 bit native app to see if it installs fine, but all the programs i try and fail to run once downloaded are on the compatibility list.

I've dowloaded an assessment tool for Windows XP Mode here and this certain tool said that I am unable to run Windows XP Mode. By the way my new operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm still using the same hardware components as before. My question is, If I can run VMware Workstation on my rig why can't I run Windows XP mode? I haven't tried installing Windows XP Mode just yet.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have burned many DVD (data) on my XP before I switch a computer. Now that I have a Vista x64, the CD drive won't read them. If I use ISOBuster I can see the track and extract them. But if I use Windows Explorer it will prompt me to "prepare blank disc"! Any help? I already finalize the disc and confimred it. Do a hardware diagnostic check and turns out nothing went wrong. By the way, how can I make Vista not look for application if I insert other CD.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem installing vista 64 bit or 32 bit after I already had it on my machine. Here is what happened and what I have. I built this machine just 3 weeks ago, mb is gigabyte ep45c-ud3r, e8400, 4 gigs of G.Skill pc 8500, 320gig Samsung sata drive, Samsung cd/dvd burner, and I also have 2 older IDE drives running I think they are 175 gigs each. Do the other day I got a disk with vista ultimate 64 bit and decided to run a clean install, my machine had the 32 bit system of the
same.
The 64 bit system began to install and when it gets to the point after you select which drive to install it on goes to the next screen it starts to open files, or extract shows 0% one dot and comes up with this message: "windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase, restart the installation" when I do that same thing happens and now same thing happens with the 32 bit system, I have tried 2 disks for that.
Using my ISP (Roadrunner Carolinas) speed test site; I get around 200 to 400 kbps download speeds using IE in normal mode. If I boot to Safe Mode, I get around 3500 to 4500 kbps, which is what it should be (this is what I used to get in normal mode before I re-installed Vista). Running the same speed test with Firefox, I get around 1500 to 2000 kbps in normal mode, but if I try to download a file it ransfers at only the 200 to 400 kbsp rate (if I'm lucky). Here's more detail about the system and what I've done so far:
Installed all updates including SP2.
Using Windows Firewall, no anti-virus.
Updated network drivers directly from NVidia (Chipset is nForce750i)
Updated graphics card drivers directly from NVidia
Disabled all LAN protocols except for Client for Microsoft Networks and IPv4
Connected via ethernet cable directly to cable modem, no router.
I've deliberately refrained from loading anything but the basics until I can get this sorted out..........

Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. In trying to install Java 6 u18 I started getting the message. THIS ACTION ONLY VALID FOR PRODUCTS CURRENTLY INSTALLED At that point Java, which had always worked, stopped working. After reading this forum I downloaded the Windows Install Cleanup and removed the Java 6 u18 from the list of installed products.

I have a Dell Vostro 1500 with 4gb of Ram and 200 GB of free space. I have installed Vista Business 64, and added recommended patches. It also has Office 2007. I am trynig to install SQL server 2008 express. A prereq for this is the 4.5 installer. Whenever I run the install I get two messages: Setup Error, Not enough storage is available to process this command. Then "Installation did not complete" In the application log the Event ID is 4373. I have space, ram, I am logged in as an administrator, and it is a clean build.

However, considering efficiency and reliability, would I be better off downloading the standalone installer (using another faster connection elsewhere) and bringing the download on a flash drive to my computer? Is this standalone installer much bigger, containing irrelevant stuff, than what Windows Update would eventually supply me with (since I'm current with all previous updates)?
View 6 Replies View Relatedi am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit on a custom built PC (Info at bottom). The problem is that there was an issues with the PC and some OS files were corrupted causing problems with Vista. I have tried to load the vista install boot DVD to do a system restore or a clean install of vista but for some reason it cannot boot from the dvd drive. Now i have tried everything i can think of. I have changed the priorities of the boot devices so it boots the DVD drive first however it seems to just ignore it. the drive powers up and reads and whatnot but it doesnt boot the cd it just loads from the HD.
When i remove all the boot list items and leave just the DVD drive as the boot option i get a screen saying insert boot media/disk and press any key to continue. Upon doing that the message just appears again. I have checked the hardware. everythings connected properly and tightly. I even stripped the system down to only the Mobo, CPU, Video Card, HD and dvd drive are in and still nothing. I have installed Vista from this cd on another machine and on 2 different hard drives in this machine in the past. 1 install was about a week ago. i have even tried using a windows XP boot disk and still it doesnt boot from the dvd drive. The DVD drive works perfectly with no problems when the OS is running. I can read and burn cd/dvd and play music and games on it. Recognizes it as a vista install disk as well when the os is running.....

My PC runs Vista Home Premium and has not caused me many problems since I sorted out the installation issues. However since I installed Roxio Creator 2009 a month or so ago I have had lots of problems. I am now troubled by a Windows Installer problem. When I start up I get a series of messages flagging up starting with "preparing to install" followed by "please wait whilst windows configures the destination" then by "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternative path to a path containing the installation package'status m s i' in the box below" the box below contains a file name as follows "c:user ALANSM~1AppDatalocal emp7zs9ED" This series of messages keeps repeating for 5 or more times every time I cancel it. I thought it may have been caused by Roxio so I tried to uninstall. Roxio would not uninstall however. The wizard starts but then I get a message saying "setup encountered an error during installation 'Error Code 04C7" then the wizard shuts down leaving Roxio intact.

I have con into Microsoft support and tried to download a Stand Alone Installer-didn't work because I don't have Windows Installer. Tried to download Windows Installer Redistributables for Windows 4.0 I have done a search for Windows Installer on my entire computer It is not listed at all in the System Configuration Utility I am running Vista Home Premium 32 bit Service Pack 2
I would like to just start all over and take of my programs and re-load but I don't have a hard copy disk for Vista Home Premium. It was installed when I purchased the computer. I don't know how to go into the sytem boot areas so haven't touched that. I have been in the registry just didn't do anything as was unsure of what to fix to allow access on the right side.
Every time I login to my account, windows installer pops up and then this error pops up.
Is there a way I can prevent this from popping up? It started happening last reboot.
I've already tried system restoring. The last thing I did was uninstall a few programs.
