Unable To Installer The Hyper-V Manager On My Windows Vista Business X64 With SP2
Sep 2, 2009
I can't seem to be able to installer the Hyper-V Manager on my Windows Vista Business x64 with SP2. I have enabled the RSATs and it is not one of the options. so i have downloaded the patches from KBs 970203, 941314, 952627. I always get this error: The update does not apply to your system where can i get the Hyper-V manager?
I am trying to download the windows installer 3.1 but it keeps saying unable to download because not enough storage or something. Now I tried these steps below suggested by another site but it didn't work for me
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services LanmanServer Parameters IRPStackSize DWORD (15)
This above has not worked for me. I have a 64bit vista under parameters they have dword which is for 32bit and qword for 64bit I chose qword but i was not able to type in IRPStactSize so I'm stuck. I just bought a pc to tv software and the requirements to watch it is that I have to have the latest media player 11 which I already have and the latest real player which I already have and .NET framework 2.0 which I already have and you have to have windows installer 3.1 which I do not have. This is the only thing preventing me from watching my pc to tv software. So can somebody help me download this windows installer 3.1 onto my 64bit machine.
whenever i download an .exe program or .msi installer vista shows: iTunes installer for example, but occurs with all downloaded files. However programs i already had on my hdd install fine. I have not yet had time to test a 64 bit native app to see if it installs fine, but all the programs i try and fail to run once downloaded are on the compatibility list.
I have installed Vista x32 with SP2 Ultimate. When I installed anti-virus, BSOD came. Same AV version haven't problem with Vista SP1, what is updated to SP2. Then I try to install Vista with SP2 to hyper-v server, but installation stops immediately error screen (STOP: 0x0..8E). Is n_windows_vista_ultimate_sp2_checked_build_x86_dvd_342432.iso packet ok ?

I have to install Windows Vista Business over Windows 2000 on several school computers, then roll it back to XP. Do I need to remove the 2000 first? Need advice on the easiest way to accomplish this
I am having a really crappy time trying to install this one program onto my comptuer. I dont understand this error i keep getting. (The error says " Installer user interface mode not supported. Unable to load and to prepare the installer in GUI mode") I am getting really upset and i do need this program installed very badly.
I am having printing problem on my Vista business machine. I have a printer server (Windows 2003 server Domain Controller), and the new Vista is joind to domain as a standard user. When I add shared printers to the Vista, it prints out without problem. Problem is, however, after I restart the Vista, I am getting this error messages everytime I tried to print test pages. "Test page failed to print. Unable to create a print job".
I Installled Vista Ultimate in my laptop now i got activate in 30 days. actually i have VISTA Businees key. i want revart back to VISTA BUSINESS without reinstall, is there any way to back the vista business?.
Is MS selling Vista Business anymore? I go on the Windows Catalog website and I can't find it being offered.
I have a perfectly functioning Win XP SP3 laptop. I've heard both sides of the upgrade issue.
1. Where can I buy Windows Vista Business? I don't want to get it from some unreputable vendor. Will the version I buy contain the latest SP's? 2. My XP was OEM, does that cause major issues when upgrading to Vista? 3. I ran the Vista upgrade advisor and it states my laptop will handle Vista if a do a few tasks first. Are the other resources regarding upgrading to Vista on the web?
I am considered an idea to go from Xp to Windows Vista. On Xp (Sp 2) I play S.t.a.l.k.e.r - Call of prypiat on 1680-1050 resolution with maximum graphic settings, so it is the question how it gonna work on Vista business 32-bit or or on Vista Ultimate 64-bit?
Whenever I try to click on X: in My Computer I get the following: X: is not accessible. Access is denied. That's kinda funny given that earlier today, chkdsk /F was able to not only run on the drive but actually told me a few filenames (the records for those files had to be updated). I ran Ubuntu LiveCD and was able to access the drive just fine from that, as well. My question is... given all this, why am I unable to access the drive from Windows Vista? Sure, maybe the drive is going bad, but that doesn't explain why Ubuntu LiveCD and chkdsk /F can access it and Windows Vista cannot. So, short of just abandoning Window Vista all together in favor of Ubuntu, what can I do?
I just applied SP1 to Vista Business 32 bit. It's now requiring me to Activate Windows and says that the activation key that it grabbed from my machine was already in use. DUH!!!!!! No kidding....I only have 1 Vista Business computer and only one key. What gives? Found this on the KB articles: Cause 1: Changes to hardware or to hardware device drivers are detected. Part of the Windows Genuine process requires that you reactivate your computer when certain hardware is changed or when certain hardware device drivers are changed. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 may update some installed device drivers. Therefore, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista again. I can understand that....but it still will NOT allow me to activate my computer!!!!
I was given a HP Compaq 6820s by a good friend with a bad hard drive. He had not made recovery discs, and HP can't supply them. I can replace the hard drive no problem, but don't want to fork over the $$$ for a new Vista OS. I have XP pro, but there seems to be too many issues with downgrading. I have the COA on the bottom of the computer. Since the OS was definitely paid for with the original purchase, can I get an OS from MS for this computer?
Is anyone else having problems installing this speific KB937287 update? I am unable to get it to stop showing up in my 64-bit Vista UE's Windows Update even though it was a success. All other today's updates were fine except one (KB937287 failed) and then rebooted, but now KB937287 keeps showing up even after successful installs.
I recently had to have Vista Business reinstalled b/c my computer crashed. I have a complete backup on an external drive using Vista Backup & Restore (keeping my fingers crossed it is a good one) but it is from several months ago so I decided to have the tech that was checking out my computer do a backup before reinstall. Unfortunately, he couldn't backup everything and I am missing quite a bit of stuff. I have no idea how the complete restore would work. Am I able to select certain data to restore? Does it restore things back to their original location?
"All of a sudden" (that is, I am not aware of any specific action that caused this - probably after shutting down due to low battery while running winamp and 7zip), Vista business replaced program icons at the desktop and in the taskbar/Systray (the place where you put program icons) with icons of 7zip, a free packer. Klicking on these icons opened their folder with 7zip. After deinstalling 7zip, Vista now asks "which program to use to open this file" when i click on these icons. There are no programs to choose from, but you can search for these programs (lower right button) so that you can repopulate this window by hand one by one with some programs.
This does not work for some programs (eg regedit, which initiates the childproof "continue" dialog but doesn't show up. System recovery doesn't work either, i get access only by booting to F8/repair computer). Some Control center (?, "Systemsteuerung" in German) programs don't react neither. Those programs which kept their proper icon, result in "program not found" while the dialog box shows the correct path to the still existing exe-file.
I am using Windows Vista Business. I recently bought and successfully downloaded Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro, however, the installation is always stopped by the error code 1719: "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Contact your support personnel for assistance." In addition, I can't UN-INSTALL anything either.
I read the instructions for this and was OK up to where and how to install the log file taken from a working vista OS. There is no option to paste the content into the registry. i have tried right clicking and ctr v I am aware that I am missing something obvious but this thing has been niggling me for days as I have to install new software for my job.
I removed an old copy of Word (XP Professional) in preparation for theinstallation of Office Home. Now, whenever I do almost anything, the windows installer keeps popping up, looking for the XP Pro disk (andPRO.MSI in particular.)
I can no longer locate that old XP disk, and now I cannot install the newversion! I tried removing some references to Office 10 in the registry, but that didn't help. How can I remove the constant "nagging" and install the new software?
In trying to install Java 6 u18 I started getting the message. THIS ACTION ONLY VALID FOR PRODUCTS CURRENTLY INSTALLED At that point Java, which had always worked, stopped working. After reading this forum I downloaded the Windows Install Cleanup and removed the Java 6 u18 from the list of installed products.
Java does not appear in the Control Panel under Programs, the registry has no Java 6.18 remnants I can see and Java does not appear in the Windows Install Cleanup list. Yet when I re-download Java, as soon as the install starts it says
I m trying to install AVG, and I was receiving installer issues. I approached other Tech sites and was told to use a program, basically now I cannot install any program, and I receive the error concerning windows installer... "The Windows Installer could not be accessed" I attempted re-install the installer on the Microsoft website, but it gave me the "Not enough memory to process this action"
I've spent countless hours troubleshooting and yeah... I'm just tired of it. Preferably I'd restore to a previous system restore point, but I get the memory error with that... so yeah, no luck with anything.
I have a new HP computer and recently every time I boot up the computer, a windows installer window pops-up and tried to install a program (it doesn't state the program name) but stops at the stage when it searches for an installation CD, as I don't have the computer's installation CD (the computer comes with no installation CD and all installation info is backed-up in the secured drive D). How do I get rid of this pop-up ? I have tried using windows installer cleanup utility but as I don't know which program windows installer is trying to install, I don't know which one to delete from the list of programs displayed in the cleanup utility. What would happen if I remove all programs from the windows installer cleanup utility list ?
I am trying to install TaxCut and the install fails just after the program starts Windows install. HR Block is no help. I want to reinstall windows installer and try again but I cant figure out how.
I Hope someone can assist me with a problem that is driving me to distraction. My PC runs Vista Home Premium and has not caused me many problems since I sorted out the installation issues. However since I installed Roxio Creator 2009 a month or so ago I have had lots of problems. I am now troubled by a Windows Installer problem. When I start up I get a series of messages flagging up starting with "preparing to install" followed by "please wait whilst windows configures the destination" then by "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternative path to a path containing the installation package'status m s i' in the box below" the box below contains a file name as follows "c:user ALANSM~1AppDatalocal emp7zs9ED" This series of messages keeps repeating for 5 or more times every time I cancel it. I thought it may have been caused by Roxio so I tried to uninstall. Roxio would not uninstall however. The wizard starts but then I get a message saying "setup encountered an error during installation 'Error Code 04C7" then the wizard shuts down leaving Roxio intact.
I have transfered my programs using the transfer companion beta. I had to change the language and locale to US English for that to work. But now lots of programs fail to open as Windows Installer throws a messge windows installer coudl not be accessed. I intsalled the windows iinstaller clean up utility and now i have this message when i try to open a program... Cant find script engine 'VBS Script' for script c:userspeterAppDatalocal empIXP000.tmpstartMsi.vbs
