Network Adapters Failed To Support NDISReadNetworkAddress Function

Many new network adapters on VISTA fail to support NDISReadNetworkAddress function. This is the function that allows software configurable MAC Address. Although the network adapters received "Certified for Windows VISTA" logo, they fail to support this function. Based on my understanding from Microsoft website, network adapters are required to support NDIS 6.0 for Windows VISTA, and NDIS 5.1 for Windows XP, and both NDIS versions require support for NDISReadNetworkAddress function.....
One usb ethernet adapter for internet connection through an old router, one for a Linksys Wireless G router hard wired to remote security cameras sums up the problem where one cancels the other out. This is a problem for XP, Vista, and even 7 beta while the primary system still runs XP. The dsl connection is through an old dsl setup using a usb adapter while the Linksys pci adapter card or usb adapter once installed becomes the default network adapter.
The wireless router itself is plugged with the RJ-45 ethernet adapter directly into the main controller/dvr box for live wireless feed to the main XP system or this one as a second means along with direct plug in to a tv set in the room where the main box is located. In XP, Vista, and even the later 7 beta the same problem of running two adapters without conflict is the main question needing a working solution. This thread is intended to tax the most network familar people here.
The landlord runs the main XP system with eventual plans to upgrade to Vista while this system serves as a testing machine a good deal of the time explaining multiple OSs as a rule. The router and adapters are in working order not seeing any defects while canceling the original dsl adapter out when installed. That takes out the online connection in the process.
"Windows does not detect any network adapters" Device Manager does not show a network adapter on the list. The motherboard drivers for the onboard network adapters will not install on Vista x64 A Linksys EG1032 network card will not install using Vista x64 Both the EVGA website and Linksys website's latest drivers will not install on Vista x64 An identical computer running Vista 32 bit has no problem getting online Is there a hotfix for this or do I need to buy a 64bit network card?
I am still trying to get some help for this. In Device Manager, under Network Adapters I get a list of 20 approx items all with yellow triangle warnings (apart from 2). The first ones are Microsoft 6to4 Adapters. Info says drivers are up to date,but I get an error code 31. Details: Message "This device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device" (Code 31). Have checked for solutions, but says there are none. I get similar warnings for the other 20 items shown. What do I do now please? (I am using an Acer laptop, with Vista Ultimate OS)
Under device manager network adapters I have a highlighted exclamation point. It refers to isatap.ec.rr.com, then I get this error message: this device is not working properly because windows can not load drivers for this device (code 31). When I click update drivers my computer tells me that the driver is all ready up to date. So what the heck is going on? I tried goggling but nothing.
I am running Win7 Starter Edition on a Dell netbook. I need to enable and disable the wireless and wired network adaptors as I can from Control Panel | Network Connections in XP. How do I do this in Win7?
After excessive testing & diagnosing, I've concluded that the following causes my "network connections" to be deleted, and I get a Code-19 (corrupted/missing driver) for my Network Adapters happens if I use WINDOWS help! Here is what happens: For one reason or another, I lose connectivity. I have a fickle ISP and I'm always resetting my cable modem, etc.
1.) I double-click the tray icon for "network," then go to Network & Sharing Center.
2.) Under Network (my actual connection,) I click "view status," then click "Properties."
3.) A "Diagnose" button is available. As soon as I push it, I'm usually given several options: Reset the adapter, Get new IP settings, etc..............
My board is an Asus P5QC...the most unstable board I have ever owned... Anyway, I got this board since November and it was not running it's best but the I had the basics running. In the past 3 months, I have re-installed Vista 9 times I was blaming Vista, but I notice that my BIOS for some weird reason is not displaying some option that I had before. Now my network adapter will not function properly. I tried my old driver and the latest drivers, I installed it the way it is suppose to be installed and well...no success. I tested all my cat 5 and they are all in good condition. My router is functionning well, seeing that my other computers are working.
Reviewing Services on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit machine I noticed that the DNS Client is disabled? I have a wireless router configured to the laptop and to the printer and have for some times been experiencing disconnection problems to the laptop and loosing the printer connectivity completely until I unplug the router, wait, and plug it back in--which will restore connectivity until the next time.
Shouldn't the DNS Client be enabled? Also noticed in Services I found HP Network Devices Support is set to Automatic (Delayed Start). Could this be what is causing the printer (C7280 All-in-One) to write so many (hundreds in days) .log entries in WindowsTemp?
Scenario: 4 PC's. All in the same domain.pc #1, Windows XP Pro pc #2, Windows NT 4.0 domain controller pc #3 Windows Vista 64 ultimate pc #4 windows Vista 32 ultimate Now up until about a week ago every single device could access each others shares no problems. No changes on any pc has been done. Windows Firewall has been turned off as well as defender where appropiate. The problem i have now is that pc#4 is now started having issues with accessing a share on pc#3. Continually getting prompted for username and password. I have even tried an domain admin account which fails. Pc#1 and pc#2 have no issues and are not prompted with username / password related promtps to access this share. Pc#3 can access shares on pc#1, #2 and #4.
I'm connected to a public network at a hospital where my husband is, and I can't send emails. I get these messages: The connection to the server has failed.

I know it has something to do with authentification or authorization and have tried lots of different settings, but I can't seem to fix it.
I have to move my computer so I'll need to go wireless. Are those Wireless USB Adapters as fast as a PCI Card? Seems so easy to install, and if it's just as good, why not? My PC will be 6 feet from the router, but the signal will have to go through a 4-foot wall. (standard residential wall, drywall and wood 2x4's)
In my XP days I would assign each of my laptop's network adapters (wired and wireless) its own static IP address. I did this to make it easier to manage things like opening certain ports when using the laptop for gaming over the wired connection only.
Now that I have an all Vista home network consisting of a laptop and a desktop both with Vista Home Premium I am running into trouble assigning these static IPs on the laptop. The primary connection is the wireless and i use the wired connection to game or to transfer files across the network. When I go to set the IP on the wired connection I get the message: "Warning: Multiple default gateways are intended to provide redundancy to a single network such as and Intranet or the Internet. They will not function properly when the gateways are on two separate, disjoint networks (such as one on your intranet and one on the Internet). I?m trying to install a network printer on a Vista machine. Vista is able to locate the printer on the network but when I select it for installation, for some time, Vista tries to connect and then pops up this message: "Failed Connecting to Printer - Access Denied" And then another window pops up with this message: "Spooler Subsystem Application stopped woring and has been closed." In fact the spooler service always stops, so I have to restart it on the services windows, within Administrative Tools of the Control Panel. The machine is new and has been installed yesterday. Everything else works fine. The printer I am trying to install is on a Windows XP Professional machine within the same network (naturally).
Yes, it locks up. Not sure why I have Vista Home, 32bit. I'm not extremely computer literate, but if you tell me where to find the info I can do that - no problem. I try not to have too many windows open, maybe 3 internet and maybe my email, Word, Excell, and a DB manager.
I can be operating just fine and the computer will lock up and it is not consistent with any particular function, but it is consistent in that it happens all day long every day. My resolution is the Task Manager, but even that can take a minute. I'll be glad to provide more info, I just need to know the questions.

I have Ultimate SP1.There used to be a function where I could right click on a folder and select "search" this is no longer there, is there some way to get it back?
We all should give up using computers for a short while and start doing simple things in life, like read some books or some thing.Look what Vista has done to some people and in particular to Frank(The King of all Vista fanboys), he was unable to read my name, his spelling is worse than spell checker( I don't know whether he has one). And look at some of the solutions given by some MVPs,it goes like this:
1.It is not Vista's fault, get help from your hardware manufacturer. 2.This is only a Vista forum go to manufacturer's help desk. 3.You paid for your PC why not spend another X amount and buy new Router. 4.Vista won't function with old hardware. 5.You do not need to know what Vista does, it takes care of your needs and you simply press the buttons and Vista will do everything for you.
I can go on but I do not wish to bore you to death. I very rarely get any constructive help from these MVPs, only one chap from another forum gives proper answers and some brilliant Tutorials. But you all can give it a go with a fantastic system called Ubuntu.
My boot manager appears to be in the D directory (Recovery). Does this mean that this programme is not available for normal use? what the function of boot manager?
my laptop,running vista, does not obey the restart function. neither when prompted by an update nor when i invoke.it will shut down but on restart it closes down. then i get the bios info.then it stay black screen,power indicator on only,no activity. every now and then,very rarely,it completes the full restart.
Under Vista, when I want to use the "SEND" option of WORD or other OFFICE apps, the only active options I have is to SAVE the email, the SEND function is disabled. Is there a way of making the SEND function active within these apps or is this just another function that vista doesn't emulate - as it did in every other os preceding it?
i am currently using dell inspiron 1440 laptop with windows vista ultimate 64 bit...my problem is, that every time i have to use any function key (like f1 or f2 etc) i have to press "Fn" key as well to get the desired result...for example...for refreshing any page instead of pressing only "f5"....i have to press "fn+f5".the same goes with all function keys....and while playing some games it becomes very annoying to press fn key each time i have to press any function key....is there any way to reverse the function of fn key...because by simply pressing f5 my brightness increases. so all i want is that i should be able to use "only f5" for refreshing the page and "fn+f5" to increase the brightness ....
I save a lot of zip files to my documents ( ww1 research ) When I used to click on one of these links On XP I used to get a ' save as ' box, and it was simple. Now I get this When I double click on this I get Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? Where is the good old XP save as function, on Vista? It shouldn't be this difficult. It's incredibly frustrating, to have £500 worth of computer, and have to resort to my old xp Fujitsu ( on it's last legs ) to download my files.
I am so annoyed at the current way left/right arrow keys work in folders. When I have one open and want to browse through it moving from file to file using the left arrow, I have to press the down arrow at each row end instead of the left arrow just moving to the next line. Is there anything I can do to change that?
I just upgrade my platform from XP to Vista, however, my keybord lost some of it's funtion e.g. CTRL + mouse right click for files selection, Shift + mouse right click for a range of file selection.
I have been having a great deal of problems getting my Vist desktop to connect to the Internet. It was working fine until I had to remove my wireless router. Anyway, I spent a over 2 hours on the pnone with both my ISP and HP helpdesks but they could not resolve the issue. My XP laptop connects fine to the Internet so I know the signal from the modem is fine...it is an issue with Vista.
Anyway, the problem is that is Vista will not run the ipconfig /renew command in the CMD function. I was able to use ipconfig /release OK but not the renew. I am in the CMD funtion as an administrator so that is not the issue. I even did a system recovery to a few days ago and reinstalled the network adapter but that hasn't helped. I have searched online for an answer to this problem with little success. Is there some way to force Vista to renew ther ip address?
