View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got vista 64bit and Mozilla Firefox keeps crashing on me.
I've heard there are some compatibility issues with Firefox and 64bit windows.
Is there a patch out, a windows tweak or an alternate version of Firefox out to solve this issue?
Another application I'm having trouble installing is Flash CS4, It keeps preparing the install files to a temp folder and then tells me that it needs to close and to check the destination drives disk space/ write protection settings.
(note the destination drive has over 400gb left on it!)
Could not uninstall Mozilla Firefox 3.0.14. Is anything possible?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi have so many problems with Windows Vista, i can't even tell you. i'm meeting with a friend soon to address many of them, but there's one i can't tolerate or figure out. i've looked everywhere, so as a last-ditch, i'm asking here.
Vista is crashing my browser, which happens to be Mozilla Firefox. however, from what i've read, it also crashes IE7, so it's an equal opportunity glitch. is there a patch i'm missing? it's getting worse & worse. it used to happen occasionally, & now it happens every time i browse.
I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit, and the latest Mcafee antivirus. I got hit with a trojan virus. Now both Internet Explorer 8 and mozilla 3.1.1 will no longer work. Firefox will no longer load at all. IE8 will load 2 copies and both freeze up before brining up my webpage.=
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter yesterday's discovery of a serious security hole left open by Mozilla Firefox's new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine, the organization chose not to wait until next week -- as had been its plan on Tuesday -- to open up availability of its version 3.5.1 bug fix. Instead, the completed build showed up on Mozilla's FTP servers late Thursday morning, although access to that build through HTTP had been sporadic throughout the early afternoon. View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser a short while ago and it was working fine. But then my Vista automatically updated and I think that was where the problem started. I think in the update it heightened the security on my computer, not necessarily a bad thing but annoying because every time I launch Firefox it has to ask my permission to continue.
I think this is because it is trying to access the internet and is not microsoft software. I have looked it up in windows help and have a slight suspicion that it might be to do with something called "user account control". It helps stop unauthorized changes to your computer. Is there any way to convince it that Firefox isn't harmful and make an exception for it?
Recently I posted about attacks that involve exploits of the recently discovered vulnerability in Internet Explorer. Based on MMPC stats, since the vulnerability has gone public, roughly 0.2% of users worldwide may have been exposed to websites containing exploits of this latest vulnerability. That percentage may seem low, however it still means that a significant number of users have been affected. The trend for now is going upwards: MPC reports an increase of over 50% in the number of reports each day. The SANS Internet Storm Center, which tracks hacking trends, said that while the exploit does not appear to be widely in use at the moment, that situation is likely to change soon, since instructions showing criminals how to take advantage of this flaw have been posted online. According to knownsec, earlier this year a rumor emerged in the Chinese underground about an IE7 vulnerability and in October it began to be traded privately. In November it got into underground black market and was traded for about $15K. Later in December, it emerged and people sold the exploit second or third hand for about $650. Finally, someone purchased those second hand exploits to develop and deploy a Chinese gaming Trojan.
MMPC points to the Win32 Trojan as being the principle offender. However Secunia have a different take..........
Every time I turn on my computer it tells me that the Windows Security Centre is at risk. I have Nortons IS installed as my Anti Virus program, and I know this overrides the WSC, but how do I stop the Windows icon from showing my computer is at risk when I start up. I read that the Windows SC is only a warning, it does not save you from viruses, is that correct?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI lost power to my home and my battery backup gave out before I got home to safely shutdown (I don’t normally lose power long enough to wipe out my backup). When power came back on I rebooted Vista 32Bit and was able to login but there were errors (which I did not record). Vista informed me there were errors and suggested I reboot and run CHKDSK. I tried to run chkdsk next time windows load but after my bios loaded I had nothing but a Black screen. I waited for 8 hours and still black screen. So I booted from my Factory Dell CD and Vista was unable to repair automatically.

MozillaFF keeps locking up and Task Manager will only close on or two of them showing as running in the window, but not the last one. Why is Mozilla showing as running as many as 4 times in Task Manager? Since Mozilla isn't open on the desktop I can't close it that way.
I just got a new computer running Vista. I installed Norton Antivirus but in the "Norton Protection Center" I get an "At Risk" warning regarding the firewall. Specifically it reads "At Risk: Advanced Firewall". I have Windows Firewall tuned on, I don't understand what it is talking about when it says Advanced Firewall.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI think I have tried everything and I am not computer savoy enough to try some. But recently my computers CPU has been fluctuating a lot and has been pretty slow..I took off most of the start up programs and only have a few (virus software etc) but I was wondering if maybe it could be not by updating my drivers.. or bc i only updated some of my drivers.
I am currently running
4 gigs ram...
ATI Radeon HD 3200
vista 64 bit
professor amd duel core..
I looked for posts dealing with RAM and had trouble finding, I thought everybody had problems with slow PCs. Now i need some advice please I have a Vista that is 1 1/2 years old and it had become really slow. RAM is high even when all applications are off and Firefox can use up to 1GB of memory and I have 2G/, I used software like RAMboost and did the long OnceCare scan with MCS, defragmented drives, increased the memory that can be used as RAM on the hard drive. etc.....many things recommended. still same nothing is changed after a short while. Is reformatting and bringing back to how it was when I bought my only hope? And should Firefox take a bloody 1 GB of RAM alone? I checked the processes in task manager and it seems I need all of them somehow and if that was the case if I reformat then wouldn't the same thing happen again?
