I had issues last November with what I suspected was a problem with updates for Office 2007 from Microsoft Update. After a Factory Image reinstall and reloading all my software, everything was humming along nicely. Then I discovered that my Office wasn't up to date and went over to MS update to pick up the security updates. I got 20 updates including SP1 for Office.
I have been installing them a few at a time and the last batch included a security update for OneNote 2007 KB950130 and tw security updates for Office KB951944 and KB954326. When I went to restart, the SAME THING HAPPENED AS IN NOVEMBER. Exactly.
The computer rebooted fine till it got to the point where I sign in and then somewhere in between the welcome screen and the desktop loading, it froze solid. The little tone that sounds when the desktop loads went into a stutter and then slowly faded.............
Effective August 1, 2009, Microsoft discontinued support for "Office Update" and the "Office Update Inventory Tool". Aside from security updates, in order to continue obtaining the latest updates for Microsoft Office products, use either Microsoft Update or Automatic Update. Read FAQ below -
I am running Office Home and Student 2007 and have just run a diagnostic which suggests that my installation is not up to date and that I go to the Microsoft Update site and download any available updates. When I do, I am asked to sign on with 'Microsoft Update'. The idea is, I think, to combine this Microsoft Update with my Windows Update and let Office updates come though along with updates for Vista, IE, etc. I have posted here before with issues concerning updates including a fiasco I had last November which involved Office updates and am wondering, since Office seems to be working well at the moment (I was bored so I did a diagnostic ) should I bother with this or just leave it? Does Office have security issues like IE and Vista?
Microsoft Update was first released a few years ago for Windows XP and Server 2003 as a great way to update all of your Microsoft software installed on your PC. Not only would it update Windows, but it would also update Microsoft Office. Are you a Microsoft Outlook user? If so, Microsoft Update would even download updated junk mail signatures when they are released.
In Windows Vista the new Windows Update application is no longer web-based. Microsoft has built-in the old Microsoft Update functionality into the new interface but you need to turn it on before you can use it. Follow these steps to turn on updates for other Microsoft applications: ...
I am running Microsoft Windows Vista on an HP Laptop with Microsoft Office Word 2007. I am finding this program to be significantly different from Word from the Microsoft Office XP Suite and would like to use the word processor from the XP suite.
Tab feature in web browsers like Firefox and IE 7 has definitely improved our efficiency as windows can be toggled much easier and faster within the same windows via tabs. Have you ever thought to have such a great feature in Microsoft Office as well? Now there is a nifty add-on, named as OfficeTab that is able to add tab feature in Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
I am having problems trying to install anything from applications like microsoft office to cs3 flash... When i click on setup, the user account control window appears asking for permission to setup, I press continue and then the setup window appears but then immediately closes. It doesn't even begin to install, I've tried running it running it as administrator, i've tried deleting previously installed applications that may have caused disruption and i've even tried installing them whilst in safe mode but nothing seems to work.
How can I get my browser to choose the spread sheet from Open Office instead of Microsoft Works' when trying to open an XLS file? As it stands the latter automatically opens it.Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, 32 bit and IE 8.
The reason: the file doesn't open properly as is, IOW a calendar shows up in sections of four and incomplete as such.
Microsoft to ‘webify’ Office (sort of)Written by Mary Jo Foley @ 9:09 am October 28th, 2008. Microsoft is finally doing what many have been clamoring for — making Web-based versions of its Office apps available — but in a different way than expected.
As part of the Office 14 release wave, Microsoft is going to provide“Office Web applications,” which it is describing as “lightweight versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. These versions will allow users to access their documents via a Web browser on the PC, phone or other devices.
Microsoft is slated to make the announcement about its Office Web applications plans at the Professional Developers Conference (PDC) in Los Angeles on October 28 during the morning keynote. Read more at the Source: Microsoft to ‘webify’ Office (sort of) | All about Microsoft | ZDNet.com
I have tried to move this application using a Belkin cable or easy windows transfer. Nothing works. I know you have to have the latest version of MO2003. It seems like all of my programs, excell, PP, access all have different version numbers. I'm not sure what to do.

I do not have the cd anywhere. I'm just wondering if there is an alternative to installing Mircrosoft Office 2000 SR-1 without the CD. I'm having problems loading ALOT of programs without it.
I tried to re-set defaults so I would not receive mail in Office Outlook. When I go to send a general email to myself into Win Mail, that works just fine. When I go to send a photo thru Win Mail, the Office Outlook pops up and that is the only way I can send a receive photos. I just tried to re=set default on one of my account ( I have 4 emails acct on Vista).
When Office 2007 was installed, I inadvertantly set up Microsoft Office Outlook , when I already HAD WIN MAIL and Win Mail was working properly. Should I go into Microsoft Office outlook and DELETE this specific email accout? If I do, will it also delete it in WIN MAIL..as I dont want it to mess up my Win Mail, which seems to be working fine without picutres being sent.
I just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install. I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."
I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?

"I downloaded MSXML but it won't install Anyone got this issue? Sorry> installing that on windows xp pro.. and i also have office 2007 and office 2003 installed on my pc
I've been experiencing some problems with the Windows Vista Home Premium Edition lately. It all started when my Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office Outlook kept on getting stuck, and I would get a note that Internet Explorer / Outlook is restarting. I've been experiencing this problem in particular only with these two.
Next - as of yesterday, I started getting all these weird messages when logging onto familiar websites, such as Google and even Microsoft, about how there's a problem with the websites' security certificate, and that it's expired, so I have to click on "Continue to this website" every single time, and the worst part is that I can't logon to my MSN Messenger! The Error Code is: 80048820, and the Extended Error Code is: 80048412. I've tried working with their Troubleshoot, but nothing works! It's strange, because my Skype is working perfectly fine.
I don't live at home, so MSN is a very important communication tool for me. The third problem is that all of the usual Windows Updates, which are normally downloaded automatically, are not downloaded anymore, and I get a message that the Updates could not be downloaded.
I have a problem with microsoft office programs that will not open in the vista start menu? When clicking on a program from the start menu, won't run. When clicking the same program from the start menu -> program folder, it will run. What could be? I am not using the classic menu. I have tried to re-pin them, but still they will not open??, all other programs are ok.
Microsoft office 2003 problem. When starting microsoft word on vista ulitmate, there seems to be a problem. This will automatically shut down, saying there was a problem and is shutting down. The other programs seem fine, Excel, powerpoint, etc. I havent a clue what this could be, has anyone else had this problem.
In the top right corner of microsoft word it will say "Finalizing Installation" and then after you type a couple of sentences it will shut down on its own. This is for a friend of mine, who had microsoft office put on when she bought the laptop of a friend, though she does not have the disk. so i wondered if this is an installation problem. Would this be some sort of copy of microsoft office 2003, that was put on for her She has only found this out now as her son needs to use word for school ( vista ultimate, 64 bit, sp2)
I don’t know if I’m in the correct area or not. If not, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have Vista 32 Home Premium operating system. I have Microsoft Office 2007. When I tried to delete my Junk E-mail folder it tells me it’s full. I know it isn’t so I have been deleting emails individually. How can I fix this problem?
one of my user in the network using outlook express before, know he brought the new laptop & install microsoft office 2007 & he wants his previous outlook express mail in new version microsoft office 2007.
I have Vista Home Premium and a brand new Dell Laptop. I've just bought Office Ultimate 2007. Everytime I open outlook or try to take any action, I get "please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007". it takes a good while before it goes away. I have cleared the registry. I have uninstalled the previous trial office. I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled. Turned off the User security. looked at loads of threads

In every way that I check, I am the Administrator. Nevertheless, everytime I try to update Office 2007 with MS patches, it tells me that I must be and Administrator in order to update. What on earth do I have to do? I tried going directly to MS home page, by clicking Windows update from my Start Menu, but it just ends with the same message with no choice to respond. If I check the User Accounts, it shows me as an Administrator. Suggestions?
I just purchased a new laptop that has Vista. I am also using MS Outlook 2002. AOL is my ISP. I use MS Outlook on my desktop that has Windows XP. I don't have any problems on my desktop. When I put in all the specifications for imap.aol.com in Vista, I was able to download the emails but when I tried to open the emails, I got a message that imap.aol.com was offline. I was online. Does anyone know what I need to do to correct the problem? A discussion forum in AOL said that there is/was an update patch available thru MS Update or Office update.
I don't know if anyone else had a problem with the latest update from the wonderful people at Microsoft but I sure did. The system suddenly went into a loop trying to install the latest update then shut down at installing step 3 of 3 at 0%. Well I tried everything and then finally did a reinstall and NOT formatting the drive as to keep the windows.old files. Everything worked great and then the install happened again but this time it took with no problem. It may have been that at the same time cyberlink was having issues with playing a blue ray but I am not sure. I just thought I might mention the solution in case anyone else had the problem. Now everything is nearly back up and no problems so far.
A couple of days I did a stupid thing. Thinking it would free some diskspace I deleted "WindowsSoftwareDistribution" folder after rebooting I noticed that Windows update is not using Microsoft update service anymore, instead it reverted to Windows update service.
I clicked on the "Get updates for more software" link button, I was directed into Microsoft update website. unfortunately right after the "Review the license agreement" page I got the 0x80070002 error on Microsoft update, so I tried going to Windows update instead on IE but I also got an error there. When I tried checking for updates on My computer it worked like a charm (only Windows update not Microsoft update).
So I googled the error (since Microsoft website was no help at all) I found a couple of solutions Deleting the content of "WindowsSoftwareDistributionDataStore" then starting Windows update. And that was no help at all. I reverted the content of the folder "WindowsSoftwareDistribution" as it was before I started missing with it. And that was no help at all..............
