For reasons of my own, I would like to not only block mail from a particular sender, I'd also like to "bounce" it back to them, so that they know that I am not taking their e-mails. Is there a way to to this in Windows Mail, or Outlook 2007?
View 9 RepliesI have an e-mail address that I wish to cease receiving e-mails from. I have clicked "block sender", but it only auto sends the new messages from the sender to the Junk File. I would like to totally block the address so that any messages are completely refused by my system.

Using Windows Mail..I can receive links from others but when I *send* a LINK..(www.yahoo.com' //www.espn.com/), my receipients can not see the site. Neither can I for that matter when I go look at the email I just sent. I'm perplexed by this as I have followed answers in the forumn and clicked default on windows mail and even went to security tab under windows mail and unchecked block images.

But after I upgrade my home PC to Vista system (I export my mail account for XP outlook express then inport it to my Vista system.) then it have problem - when the mail that I received in home Vista system Windows Mail then i no longer can receive in office mail client. When I send test emails or work with the server that I forward from, they all get to me just fine! But I have several teachers that email me from a high school, and theirs are all bumped.
I've been a reader of the forums for a little while and found the need to make my first post. Let me preface, that I've done some searching on this issue, tried lots of things, and found nothing to help resolving mine. I'm running Vista Ultimate X64 SP1. It seems that SVCHOST.exe is causing the problem and I've attached a screenshot of the associated services. The problem seems to be random in terms of when it acts up, but quite often. The only temporary resolution is a restart.
Every time I open Windows Mail it will erase all my SBC yahoo mail. I go to Yahoo Mail and all my e mails are gone. How can I change my settings so it doens't do that anymore?

Tried changing by accessing Properties from Windows Mail but when I change to "Make this the defalut e-mail handler, apply and save then exit and return to Properties the setting has returned to Not the default e-mail handler.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium.
Note:
Control panel does show Windows mail as being the Default Newsgroup handler.
cannot get links to open in windows mail. some are public mail such as nascar, and, some are orivate emails from friends, when i defaults, it says 2 out of 3 are working. i have to keep resetting default.

Starting about 2 weeks ago, I can't open attachments in Windows Mail. Message says "command failed to execute" I have been reading the posts and still don't know what to do. How do I know if IE8 has been installed as an update? I'm inexperienced with technical stuff. I don't think I installed it, could it have installed on it's own as an update? Tried saving them to desktop but don't know how to separate them from the e-mail, so they still don't open.

I have to open my accounts online and when I have opened the accounts both mail and live mail will then down load messages, This does not happen all of the time, so I know the account settings are correct. I do not have Vista, or Windows Mail, or Hotmail, so I'm flying a bit blind here. I have an acquaintance who has Vista, but does all her emailing via Hotmail. Recently, she has had some problems with the Hotmail service, and she has asked me if it is possible for her to change to the mail program that comes with Vista. (Windows Mail?) The snag is, she would like to import the contents of of all her web-based Hotmail folders, (her email messages in other words), and her Hotmail contacts into whatever email program she changes to.
1. Would this be possible with Windows Mail, or does she need to write off all her Hotmail stuff and start again from scratch?
2. If it is not possible with Windows Mail, is it possible with any other email client, such as Thunderbird or similar?
