Program Wont Uninstall It With Uninstall Or Install Cleanup Utility
Nov 20, 2008I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.
'uninstall' Button Disappeared, Can Not Uninstall Program
May 27, 2008Somehow the 'uninstall' button disappeared for most programs on my Vista Home Premium box when I used Control Pannel -> Programs -> Uninstall a Program. A few programs still have 'uninstall' button available - those have 'installed on' showing. The rest (80+% of all)don't have 'installed on' values showing and don't have 'uninstall' button.

May 15, 2010I used to have it on my computer.
But last time I tried to play it didn't work.
It said that I have to re-install it. But when I put the disc in it say that it cant find the location folder.
So I tried to un-install, but it say I cant do that.
I looked through previous threads here, and found one about how to delete it from the start menu -> regedit etc.
Follewed the intstructions, but I dont have a EA game folder, Maxis folder or any other folder for the game.

Oct 28, 2009I ran four businesses with Windows XP and Outlook Express email entities. I now have Vista and much to my chagrin, Windows Mail has no such option. I'd like to spend ten minutes alone with an aluminum baseball bat and the whiz kid who thought up that little improvement. Also, the idiotic way to create shortcuts in Vista. I run gun auctions on the internet and need to do shortcuts all the time for various auctions as they update. I now have a Dell Studio XPS 435TM with 12 gig RAM. Can I uninstall Vista and reinstall my old XP program so I can replace Windows Mail with Outlook Express again?

Nov 22, 2008At the moment I have no Office because I was advised when Word 2003 would crash on start and have to be restarted in safe mode to uninstall and reinstall it. Now I can't get it loaded at all. My very expensice IT guy spent 2 hours and gave up the HP people (this is a brand new laptop) said Vista isn't compatible with Office Pro 2000 which we upgraded from...I have 8 computers running 2003...The other issue is that when I click on a message in hotmail it crashes. No message, just a freeze. What a hassle - I have no Outlook because of problem 1 and no hotmail because of problem 2. Wish I'd been warned... I guess I really was - all those HP machines with extra cost to be 'downgraded' to XP.

Mar 1, 2010So I was spending way too much time on facebook and way too much time gaming when I needed to study for a chem test today so I thought it would be a good idea to somehow enable parental controls to only give me 30 mins a day on facebook and an reasonable amount of time on the computer game. I was going to get my roomate to type the password. After I went to parental controls I quickly realized that I could not micro manage the parental controls the way I wanted to because vista sucks.
So I downloaded "USER TIME CONTROL CENTER v 4.9.2.7" from "http://www.1securitycenter.com/index.html" and installed it. Then I realized I did not like the program because when I ran it it did not allow me to use any kind of administrative commands. It took me awile to figure out how to disable it but when I did I was able to uninstall it. The computer rebooted and then I quickly deleted it from out of my recycling bin only to find out that I still can not run administrative commands.
So now I:
1. Do not have the program
2. Can not reinstall the program
3. Can not restore program
4. Can not use any kind of 'run as administrator' (No error message, it tells me to type password but it wont let me imput)
Think that the problem is related to:
1. Csrss.exe
2. Csrstub.exe
And I dont know how to: Access User:administrator

panel/programs-features and uninstall it. I tried to uninstall Forte
Agent(email program) and got the message "could not open INSTALL.LOG file".
There has to be another way to uninstall a program. I also have 2 programs
listed in programs-features that when I try to uninstall tells me it is no

Program Cant Be Uninstall
Dec 6, 2008I have windows vista ultimate 64bit. When im going to control panel>programs I see in the programs list on the tope a program something like ~!@$@54534#@!@~!.EXE. Sometimes the program is 8mb sometimes its 763mb when im trying to make for it uninstall im getting a msg that it cant find the uninstall info file or it dosent exist. I search in my pc a place installed with something that is 763mb or 8mb in the date it show in the programs list 13/11/2008 but none is exist. I tried to use SpyBot Search and destroyed so it found things but didnt solve anything. I have on my machine nod32 for long time didnt help. I have also Avira AntiVir install it didnt help.
I tried hijackthis posted the log file online to analyze it cleaned what was BAD but it didnt helo either. I tried to use Adaware 2008 so its found some stuff cleaned but it didnt help. What else could it be? I dont understand it. Im sure its a apyware torjan worm or a virus beacuse sometimes its 8mb sometimes 763mb and cant be uninstalled or removed.
Unable To Uninstall A Program
Apr 16, 2008I 'partially' installed a Click'N'Design program on my Vista Home Premium before the computer 'hung' due to obvious incompatibility. Unable to uninstall it now with Control Panel's 'uninstall a program' which returns an error message 'unable to locate the Install.log file'. Windows Install Clean Up does not list this program (as I presume it wasn't installed using Windows Installer).

Jan 11, 2010A friend of mine has installed F-secure anti-virus program on his computer and now he wants to change it to other because.. well it pretty much sucks a lot. It slows down incredibly the machine, and it's with good parameters. So he asked me for help. The installation was long time ago so System Restore is not an option. I know a lot of people have big problems trying to uninstall F-secure. That's why I uninstalled it using Your Uninstaller in the most aggressive way of uninstall. When I tried to install the new one - ESET Smart Security, it showed me a message that F-secure is detected and it should be removed first.
I checked in Program Files and saw F-secure folder with 400 MB info in it. It couldn't be deleted so I went to Safe Mode with Command Prompt and managed to delete the folder. The same message "F-Secure detected". I checked and it's in several other places all over the Windows Folder and Program Data folder... Also it's in so many places in the registry. I don't know how to remove it. Every time i try to delete file in the explorer it shows me that I don't have the permission, and if I try to delete something in the registry it shows me error that it cannot be done or something (yes, i had made back up of the registry(

Jun 25, 2008I am trying to uninstall Nero (the 'burning' program). The uninstall program won't remove it. Windows' Add/Remove Programs won't remove it. Finding the files and deleting manually has no effect. How do I remove it?

Install/Uninstall Program Trouble
Aug 15, 2009I'm running Vista Ultimate SP2 and for some time now I'm having significant trouble installing and uninstalling programs. Whenever I try to install or uninstall, the process starts and it either takes a very, very long time to complete (2 hours or more), or the process hangs and I get a message stating the installer is not responding. I think I have found at least part of the problem in that system restore is not operational. If I open the "system protection" tab, the system restore button is greyed out and there are no disks displayed to create restore points. My belief is that system restore is not creating a restore point when an install/uninstall is started and
thus the process times out.

May 15, 2010i uninstalled "Fable Lost Chapters" because it was using up space on my drive. So i uninstalled the game, half way through the uninstallation the PC lagged so i used task manager to close the uninstaller. My first mistake was right there, after when i tried to uninstall it, it said i had finished but everything was clearly still there.
So i read around the forums, and i used a force uninstaller which worked fine, except the "fable lost chapters" icon was still in the "uninstall or change program" windows, with no stats, (ie how big it is, last altered ect). Game was gone but the value was still there. So i fished around the regeditor hoping to find it, but no luck there. I have also tried using "C CLeaner" to delete the entry but it gives me this error message "Cannot delete MSI installer" no idea what that means.
