I have a standard VIDEO_TS folder(NOT copied from a commercial DVD) on my computer and while Windows DVD Maker recognizes the VOB files as video files and is willing to burn them onto a DVD, I want to watch the DVD as it was intended. I have tried making a DATA DVD with the video_ts file, but that won't play on a regular DVD player. How do I make a VIDEO DVD using the full VIDEO_TS file instead of just a DATA dvd?

MSN Music To Delete DRM Keys - Say Goodbye To Your Music "Customers who have purchased music from Microsoft's now-defunct MSN Music store are now facing a decision they never anticipated making: commit to which computers (and OS) they want to authorize forever, or give up access to the music they paid for. Why? Because Microsoft has decided that it's done supporting the service and will be turning off the MSN Music license servers by the end of this summer." http://tinyurl.com/3uwfo8. just another "screw you" from Microsoft

My vista home premium seems to have a problem with its music media replay. When I open a song file, the music id fine but the vocals sound distant, inaudible and a large amount of echo. I did download an mp3 player called morpher or something very similar but deleted after playing two songs, has this damaged my music files or my computer? I am unsure if the mp3 player is the culprit but all was fine beforehand.
I have updated the realtek driver but has made no difference to the vocal reproduction. I have also tried a system restore to a date well before the mp3 player was put onto the computer, it still made no difference.

My problem is when using windows media player to burn a music CD, where does it till you that the CD is full. In prier versions there is/was a time line stamp that would let you know how many songs you could put on that media and in third party burning software as well. So when using this software how do I know how many songs I cant put on the disc?

I read this tutorial many months ago to learn the secrets of this very powerful tool that Windows Desktop Search is compared to the old plain search in XP: Many people still ignore how sophisticated Window Desktop Search can be or worse they simply blame it and regret old search engine... go learn how to use it first! Today I discovered that it can actually be used to find also MP3s by duration (finally)! Let's say you want to search for all music >6 mins long... First enable natural language search, it's much easier: ...after this passage, you can type in this in the Start menu: music duration >3600000000 and you'll find all MP3s greater than 360 seconds (6 mins)! Isn't that simple? Don't ask my you have to add 7 zeroes after the seconds, but it works! Obviously you can do much more with the Advanced Query Syntax and this is just an example Hope this hint can be useful for others as it was for me... Tested on Vista SP1, x86, Italian, Windows Desktop Search 4.x installed

I have an iPhone icon in my "Computer" directory which I can't get rid of. I have removed iTunes, etc. from my system but can't get rid of this icon. I can't delete, eject, safely remove, anything. I can't see it anywhere in the device manager, even after invoking the command line SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1, and "showing" hidden devices, it is nowhere to be found. I can't find a registry entry, or directory entry which even resembles this.

Want to bring the look of the Windows 7 taskbar and interface to Windows Vista? Thanks to the hard work of a dedicated Vista user, everyone can download a special visual style for Windows Vista that will transform your pc.
Before you can install the new visual style the visual style engine must be patched to allow non-Microsoft visual styles. Check out my article on using VistaGlazz to do that...

How can I make my games run in a window? (For some reason, I prefer to play games in "windowed mode".) In XP you had to add something like "-w" on the shortcut thingy... But it doesn't work on Vista. I know how to do the "Windowed GUI" -thingy, but I think it quite doesn't help me. I even tried it, but the games still run in fullscreen. I have managed to make a few games run in a window, but that is because there was an option for it in the game options. Unfortunately for me, not all games have that kind of options. Or maybe I'm just blind, and I don't find that kind of things from the game options. *shrug*

I'm one of those users who has been using Vista with no problems ever since Microsoft gave out RTM copies to beta testers. However, as a writer, I've watched the media completely destroy the public opinion of Vista, leading many to stick with Windows XP or to look for alternatives, even before they had tried Vista. Even with SP1 out, many have not bothered trying Vista on recent hardware and therefore could not realize the fact that it really is worthy of being XP's successor. If I had to lay the blame on one party for Vista's poor public opinion, I wouldn't lay it on Microsoft, I wouldn't lay it on hardware companies incapable of producing good drivers, I wouldn't lay it on the fact that XP is so good, I would lay it on the media for blowing things out of proportions.
Yes, the problem is exaggeration (it's in this article's title too, in case you missed it); bloggers and journalists alike use their personal experiences to prove their point in their writing. The blame doesn't solely lie with us, as Vista was by no means perfect, but we did manage to amplify the problems beyond reason. And if the beta is anything to go by, Windows 7 is going to fly. This is, by far, the best beta operating system the software giant has ever released. The media has locked on to this, and is using exaggeration already, before Windows 7 is even ready for prime time. Full Story: What killed Vista will make Windows 7 fly
