I have a new replacement HP computer with Vista Home premium and have installed a game called immortal cities Children of the Nile on it, and each time I try to run it I get the message in a box :- Microsoft visual c++ runtime library :- X runtime error, programme C:programme filesimmortal citiescotn.exe. :- Abnormal programme termination.
this is what I get every time I try to play the game and a spinning disc replaces the curser and I am unable to eject the play disc unless I reboot my machine. I know this game is compatable with Vista home premium as my previous HP computer ran it no problem, the only thing I can think of which is obvious is that the game needs Active X 9 to run the programme and my replacement machine (the previous one died) had Active X 10 pre-installed and I am not sure if this could create a problem I have tried unstalling the game 3 or 4 times and re-installing it to no effect?

I have set up my account 5 or 6 times. I have roadrunner as my internet provider. the pop is pop-server.wi.rr.com and smtp is smtp-server.wi.rr.com I was able to send one email and then I closed windows mail. 10 mins later, went back in to try and send an email and I received this error message.

Continued from: System Restore - disk space Do you have any idea why the space still continue to drop by 0.1, 0.2GB slowly even though i did not install any other programme? I see that I am not alone in experiencing this problem. Attempts to remove the programme have failed - because I cannot find it. Attempts to access the "SpiralOrbit" website recommended by the problem support message fail, because the website does not exist: according to Windows own help window. Does anyone have any knowledge of what exactly is this programme and how one might remove it?
I must devellope a programme with visual 2005 and I must ensure that it operates under vista. My program is working properly when I execute from visual, but when I use just the executable, the program crashes. Apparently, the error would be in the file glee.c but I use the last version. There is no probleme with XP. I work on vista 32 familial premium edition SP1, with visual 2005 SP1 for vista. Has someone already had the same kind of probleme?

I have just installed the above and updated the latest definititons, and as someone who knows, not a lot re.computers,does that mean it takers the place of an anti-virus programme? I have AVG installed and I'm happy with it. I'm not sure if the above will conflict with AVG as it says MSE it is a virus and spyware scanner.

I don't know why I am having this problem. It started today for some reason and I've never experienced it before. No changes have been made to any of my email accounts or the discussion groups account. No changes have been made to my AV program. I use the standard, native Windows firewall. I'm still using Vista x86 and again, no changes have been made. I am currently posting this via the web interface. I tried to hook up my 360 as an extender. It connected to my vista pc with no problem but when I tried to play an internet video, my x-box would lock up. Note: that my own pictures and videos played fine and some of the internet videos, like "news", played fine also.
Before I got carried away with diagnosis I thought I would check for updates on my pc. First, I found that my old Antivirus software was now available for 64bit OS so I dumped McAfee (hated Mcafee) and reloaded PC tools Spyware Dr. w/ AV & decided to purchase Reg Mechanic also at the same time. I ran the AV and Registery Mechanic and fixed all errors and then retried to run the videos on the MCE x-box.
