Star Wars - The Game Crashed
Nov 11, 2008I installed this game in my pc with the cd, and everything ran perfect, I started the game and there was the intro video, after it ended, the game crashed, and the following message appears (it's in portuguese) in the error window.

Star Wars: Game Did Not Load
May 15, 2010Let it be known. This is for the FIRST game. Not the second. When I start the game this happens. I restarted, tried it again. Same Error. I uninstalled it. Restarted. Installed under Win XP Service Pack. Same Error. I made sure the exe is under the Win XP Service Pack. Same Error. I even tried the "change the mss32.dll in the directory." Same Error. I did the built-in system scan in the game configure. It's not the best but it should still play.

Mar 22, 2009I recently puchased a new laptop and unfortunately had to get Vista or it would have cost me more (for XP), and I am not happy with it, am not happy with the things I've heard, and I'm having a difficult time learning it. Every day I have a new question and sometimes more than one a day. lol the problem I'm having now is that IE (7) is not saving all of my passwords. I mistakenly put the wrong password in a forum I've belonged to for quite some time and of course I was prompted to ask if I wanted to save it and I answered yes, not realizing it was wrong. Well, now, every day I type in my "correct" password and I'm told it's wrong because IE is remembering the incorrect password and not prompting me after I put in the correct one.

Aug 24, 2008After installing the patch the singleplayer is fine but it seems multiplayer is broken. If I start a server it loads the map but locks up straight away, also looks as though it's missing textures(random black spots) It even crashes from menus if I try and change my character as its also missing textures (all black) Ive tried uninstalling, reinstalling etc. Latest Catalyst drivers, card is a 4870. Running as admin, compatability mode etc make no difference, weird as it works fine with no patch, unfortuantely all the servers require 1.42.

Nov 27, 2007I have just installed Quake 4 on Vista 64 Ultimate with the latest 1.4.2 patch. When i go into single player mode the game will just sit there with a black screen and then quit to my desktop with a little pop up on my start menu saying "the video driver has stopped responding". Last time i played this on Vista i was able to play single player no problem, but it would still do the same, but during game play. So i thought i install it again and give it another try, but it still does the same thing. Also i'm running the latest beta 169.09 drivers with a 8800gtx.

Oct 4, 2008i installed c&c3 and its all fine but when i play campaign and it finishes loading, when i click play the game just closes and a microsoft error message comes up. I have all the minimum requirements to run the game except for the processor i have windows vista business 32 bit 1.83ghz and the game requires 2.2ghz. could that be the problem? also my driver might also be the problem as i dont think its the latest one. i intalled a new driver for my notebook but i dont think it was the latest one as the date year was 2007, this one was a few months newer then my old driver. when i installed that driver the game still didnt work?

Installation went perfect but when i tried to play it, i got an error that looks exactly like this, "Please make sure you have DirectX9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel." I have a HP Pavilion 1275mx dv4.

Star Wars Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 Black Screen
Jun 29, 2008I have Windows Vista Home Basic. I installed one of my favorite star wars games(star wars addicted) everything went great. But when I run it gets fun: I get a black screen, I can see my cursor and hear the sound. But I don't see the menu And when I click on something it shuts down the game. I also tried to run it in compatibility mode but that doesn't work either. I also tried to change the resolution but that doesn't help anything.

I have tried going into the display settings and advanced settings then troubleshooting but my computer does not allow me to change it as the icon is grayed out.

Aug 2, 2007I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried
1)reinstalling/repatching
2)run the exe as admin.
3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
Game Freezes: Game Won't Run Correctly
Jan 5, 2008I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.

Oct 12, 2009Using my ISP (Roadrunner Carolinas) speed test site; I get around 200 to 400 kbps download speeds using IE in normal mode. If I boot to Safe Mode, I get around 3500 to 4500 kbps, which is what it should be (this is what I used to get in normal mode before I re-installed Vista). Running the same speed test with Firefox, I get around 1500 to 2000 kbps in normal mode, but if I try to download a file it ransfers at only the 200 to 400 kbsp rate (if I'm lucky). Here's more detail about the system and what I've done so far:
Installed all updates including SP2.
Using Windows Firewall, no anti-virus.
Updated network drivers directly from NVidia (Chipset is nForce750i)
Updated graphics card drivers directly from NVidia
Disabled all LAN protocols except for Client for Microsoft Networks and IPv4
Connected via ethernet cable directly to cable modem, no router.
I've deliberately refrained from loading anything but the basics until I can get this sorted out..........

Jan 4, 2009I finally decided to upgrade to Vista, and since I have 4GB ram I thought I'd give 64bit a shot. Every game I play crashes, or fails to load at all, or gets into the game and crashes during map load. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......

Sep 18, 2009i can't alt-tab out of a steam game, counter-strike. it's never done this before, and i'm trying to think of what i may have done for this to occur, but nothing comes to me. the only thing i can do to get out of the game is by quitting the game itself, or ctrl-alt-del to task manager. when i go to task manager, it says that the "aero" theme of vista isn't compatible with the game. like i said, it's never had this problem before.

I can't play Quake wars enemy territory, can't play cyris, battlefield 2 demo won't work. All these are demo. Age of empires 3 and war chiefs work just fine.
in the games that don't work they will eventually lock up after a minute to 3 minutes. you also see tons of weird very fast moving lines all over the screen. not sure how to describe it. can take a screenshot if possible.
Temp is fine im sure as is ram etc.
is this a video card being dead issue or what could it be? i am guessing hardware cus this happens in more then one game and the same thing and it happens in both vista and xp. i have prebuilt with the pc it came with vista home premium sp1 64bit and i installed on the second hard drive xp sp3 pro and both oses and the same games have the same issues.
I installed newest nvidia 64bit drivers for vista and the issue still happened.
I'm totally clueless here. My guess is i'll have to take it where I got it for a replacement which is fine as i'm under warranty for 2 total years from when i bought this pc a few months ago.
doing a recovery on the pc doesn't help either. I'm also not running any software other then the game.
i don't have any other issues on the pc, just these ones mentioned in here.
Cant Uninstall Game
Oct 8, 2009They tell me to uninstall from the control panel. ie go to START,CONTROL PANEL,PROGRAMS etc. so i've highlighted it in the list-normally i would just click UNINSTALL but they tell me to only use the copy/paste method. How do i do this.? I only know how to copy/paste my registration key in to the initial download,never ever done it before so i'm not clear on how i do it while the title is in the list amongst everything else.

Jun 30, 2009I had a game I wanted ot make work but DEP kept stopping it so I turned off DEP by using the command prompt. bcdedit.exe/set {current] nx AlwaysOff and it worked. I then restarted Vista and all I get is a quick flash of a blue crseen and then two options, 1) Repair and 2) Start normally. I have restored to an earlier point, I have also tried safe mode, I pressed F8 and tried starting with last known working settings and also F8 then a repair option, opened a command prompt and tried reversing the command but it didn't seem to do anything.

Jan 26, 2010I've downloaded StepMania onto my computer so that i can play DDR and I have a game pad and a USB converter too so I configured everything and I'm really having no trouble but when i play the computer is reading the arrows as an analog and not separate buttons this really isn't and issue except for when i am holding one arrow down and i press on the other it only reads one making double notes impossible.
so i went into the control pannel, went into game controllers, and it says that it is a 4 axis 16 button joystick and when i go to properties and press the arrows it moves the axes in the direction of whatever arrow i press and only moves one way when I press both arrows...so my prediction was correct...what i can't figure out though is how to program the pad to read as buttons instead of a joystick axes?

Jul 14, 2009i recently downloaded a game named prototype. i was downloading it my computer randomly turned off. i turned it back on and it said it was downloaded on my computer and i could play it. i press the play the button and it says file missing. i tryed to uninstall the game because i was going to reinstall it but it doesnt let me because i have not fully downloaded it.
