When I pick a picture from The gallery and bring it to the next frame so it can be edited, the backgroung color is a beigh that almost bleeds through the picture and makes it very difficult to see the real colors in the picture. When I run it in Slide Show mode, the colors are great. Is there a way to change that background color?
View 4 RepliesCurrently I am using Vista Basic. It can make slide shows, but they are visible only on the computer they're created on and with limited control. I need to give a presentation in July. Can the Premium version be used to do a presentation? Or do I need a program like Power Point. My other interest in Premium is the ability to save slide shows to DVD. Basic doesn't have that feature.

I think I can do it if I switch to "Vista Basic / Windows Standard / Windows Classic", but I would like to keep the Aero effects (transparency, etc.). Do you know if this can be done, and how? I've tried some visual styles, but all of them have white backgrounds. I guess a nice visual style with a black background would be the best solution, but I can't find one.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have 4 family laptops with Vista - 3 with home premium. All are current with updates. My wife's is the best, even though her laptop is a cheap ($289) Acer Celeron. It does cool transitions with the screen saver slide show. The others are the more traditional - simple transitions - sometimes annoying monochrome - sometimes expanding the pictures so the edges are cropped. How do I get the good features on all my laptops? Also, they do not all have the same selection of Gadgets available for the side-bar. Is it normal for every Vista laptop to be a little different?
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I start up my PC (running Vista64 sp2 OS) my sidebar has a white background instead of the usual translucent one. If I close the side bar, the white background remains with holes in it where the Gadget icons were. Logging off of Windows Vista and then back on again fixes the problem. Has anyone else had this specific problem? Is this a glitch with Vista OS and there is no cure?

View 4 Replies View Related1) When changing the background from an image to just a plain color the sidebar does not change, it is still looking as if there is a background image behind it. It will only adapt to the change if you flip it from left to right, and back to left again. Same thing goes for taskbar/start menu bar on the bottom.
2) Sometime I get random re-boots when resuming from standbye or just for the hell of it sometimes.
I am running Vista Basic upgraded to Home Premium. For some time I have not been able to set a picture as my background. If I set a picture as my background it does not show on my desktop. All I have is a solid colour which I can change. If I use the switch between windows feature of Aero I can see the background but only after I have selected my desktop from the available windows and use the switch between windows feature again. The picture never shows up on my desktop. I did have a problem with Aero at one time when it would load up when I boot up but as soon as my desktop loaded Aero stopped working. I did get this sorted out by uninstalling and reinstalling my graphics card. I hope this makes sense. I know it is not a big problem but I would just like to be able to set a picture as my background.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS M2N-Sli Deluxe mother board with a AMD Athalon 62 x2 (Dual Core) 2800Mhz 5600+ Cpu, With Nvidia nForce 570 SLI MCP Chipset and 2x nVidia 8600 GT 256RAM. I have been using this set up for over 2 years.
Just last week the fans on my Graphics cards over heated and kinda melted for no reason, I wasnt watching a movie nor was i playing a game. Due the fan on the GPU melting i orders some new ones ie NorthQ (NQ-3860A). The fans work fine and are keepint the GPU cool enough, But i cant detect and of the cards on device manager and i cant change the resolution nor can i load nVidia control panal so i can change the resolution from there and set up the SLI cponnection.
I have also found that with the second GPU When put in the PCI slot comes up with Green lines and a very very unclear picture. Can any one please help me as i have the computer connected to a 32 inch lcd tv and it hurts my eyes, besides that i cant watch any movies
when I presented a slideshow using Windows, the slides would fade-out/fade-in during the transition from one silde to the next. Yesterday, I did a slideshow and there was no fade, just straight transitions from one to the other. Last week I did install SP 1 for my Vista Business os, but have run successful slideshows since then. What could have happened? I have not changed anything.

On the sidebar normally, when you move a gadget to a new location there is an animation where the other gadgets slide into place. My gadgets dont slide anymore. They snap into the new location in a single frame. Technically I don't lose any funtionality, but it is frustating since I am a fan of aesthetics.
View 5 Replies View RelatedUsing my ISP (Roadrunner Carolinas) speed test site; I get around 200 to 400 kbps download speeds using IE in normal mode. If I boot to Safe Mode, I get around 3500 to 4500 kbps, which is what it should be (this is what I used to get in normal mode before I re-installed Vista). Running the same speed test with Firefox, I get around 1500 to 2000 kbps in normal mode, but if I try to download a file it ransfers at only the 200 to 400 kbsp rate (if I'm lucky). Here's more detail about the system and what I've done so far:
Installed all updates including SP2.
Using Windows Firewall, no anti-virus.
Updated network drivers directly from NVidia (Chipset is nForce750i)
Updated graphics card drivers directly from NVidia
Disabled all LAN protocols except for Client for Microsoft Networks and IPv4
Connected via ethernet cable directly to cable modem, no router.
I've deliberately refrained from loading anything but the basics until I can get this sorted out..........
Is my first post and i have a problem with avi file icon. I am from Cyprus and my english its not very good. Some of my avi files show a picture and some others show a black icon. I did not have this problem before. Before all my avi files show a picture. I have K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (new version). I try Vista Codec but i can solve it. View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded my XP system to a Vista 64 bit system. I print digital photos using Adobe Lightroom 1.4. With my XP system, I had a good match between my calibrated monitor (NEC 2690) and my printer (HP B9180) working in the ProPhoto RGB color space. I use ICC profiles and let the Lightroom application manage the color. With Vista, I've lost my match. Skin tones look great on my monitor and now print with a red tint. A blue sky prints with a purple cast. I tried Lightroom Beta 2 (64 bit software) but no difference. I played with some advanced settings in Vista's Color Management without success. I'm using NEC's SpectraView II calibration software which is 64 bit compatible. The graphics card that came with the computer is a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if someone could help me. I can't figure out how to make my color scheme stay in any particular setting. IE. I use WMP classic and it (I think) is not compatible with Windows Aero color scheme, so it changes automatically from Aero to Basic, then back to Aero when WMPC is closed.
That is not the problem, my problem is that I would like to just put the scheme back to Window Vista Basic, thus avoiding the need to change back and forth all the time. Everytime I reboot the scheme comes back as Aero.
This seems so simple, just select desired scheme, apply then once I logout or reboot those settings should save.
I have just recently installed Age of Empires III on my gateway vista laptop and the install went fine but when I play the game all the colors look like camera film negatives. Is there some setting to change to make the colors look normal? BTW it is an XP game if that has anything to do with.
