I'm just trying to get used to this windows mail. When i try to send an e mail with a few photos attatched. As well as the photo id showing under the subject bar the photos are being shown within the viewing pain way over sized so when i try to send the photos they are holding too much info for receiving address to accept so the e mail is bouncing back. I cant see where there are options to change this.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new Vista, and saved a few pictures off of the internet, and saved them to my 'Downloads' folder. I went to preview them(in Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Paint, and Picture Manager), and they would not show up.
there were 27 files: 11 PNG, 2 GIF, and 14 JPEG. 3 JPEG and2 PNG will work,but the rest won't. I attempted to upload them to photobucket, with the same results.
I just installed Vista x64 and don't know what the difference between the "Windows Photo Gallery" that comes with Vista and the "Windows Live Photo Gallery" I can download. Is the download a newer version? Should I install it or just use the one that came with vista?

I can open an attaachment then go back 2 minutes later and I get "command failed to execute".
Friend of mine sent me an attachment which is in Chinese language. He uses Yahoo.com, and I use cogeco.ca. We sent e-mails in Chinese many times without problem. Attachment in Chinese is the first time From him.
** the file is in DAT file type **
Here is my problems : -
1.) I attempted to open the attachment and I got the following error message : " This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the Set Associations control pane."
2.) So, I saved the attachment to Pictures folder, and opened it to Notepad. It worked, BUT content was all scrambled. Couldn't read. Now in WM, I can decode it, but in notepad there is no such option.
3.) Then I tried Microsoft Power Point. It couldn't find the darn attachment.
4.) Then I tried both the Microsoft Office Excel and Adobe Reader, non worked.
Note : I did include Notepad, MS Excel and Adobe as the programs it will open onto, in case someone wondered.
I am trying to send a word file that contains Resume and cover letter to the company for job. I am using Vista and Office 2007 and each time I try and attach the file it states that 'Some of the files could not be found, and could not be attached to the message. Would you like to send the message anyway?' Could somebody spread some light on this for me please. I am not using office for a commercial purpose at all

With my Windows Mail, attachments are missing from only certain senders. My co-worker, Sue, sends out email blast with attachments to multiple recipients including myself. I've verified that other recipients did received the email with attachments w/o a problem, however, when I open my email, the attachments are not there. This only happens with this particular sender only. I've also verified that other recipients do use Windows Mail.

We are members of several Yahoo Groups and ALL the emails that come through from the groups are marked with an attachment icon. Yahoo does not allow attachments in their group emails, so why the icons and how do I get rid of them? Our regular emails that are not from one of the Yahoo groups only have the attachment icon when there is an actual attachment, so what's with the Yahoo emails? I checked the email settings to allow html and pictures and set the security setting for "Internet Zone" which is less restrictive, but the icons still show up.

I know how to insert background music on an e-mail, but ........I can not figure out how to make it as a background music when and ONLY when the attachment is opened. NOTE : I do not want to convert the music to .wav format. It takes too long and it does not work if the music is too long. What I have be doing is this : Open compose window > Format > Background > Sound > browse to music folder, pick my choice > Open, choose of times or continuously > OK My problem is : as soon as the e-mail is opened by the recipient, music starts. It does not wait for attachment to be opened. What steps have I missed ?

When I try to open it it asks if I want to Save or Open the document; I choose Open. The I get an error message: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel." I can save the attachment to my desktop and then open it no problem but I don't think that I should have to do that. I should be able to double click on any attachment and it should open with the proper program, right?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Vista Mail in the Vista Premium Home Version, 2007, Service Pack 2. Recently, I attached some reduced size photos (about 60kb each) to an email. When I sent the email, they remained attached but also, they opened up for viewing in the body of the email, making the email HUGE in size. I have searched for ways to turn this feature off, so that the attached photos do not open and show up in the body of the email, but without any luck. Therefore, currently I cannot turn this feature off. I only want photos to be attached, NOT OPEN UP to be viewed in the body of the email. Does anybody know how to change the setting in my Windows Mail so that the attachments will NOT open up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn Monday morning, as usual checking mail in office using windows mail, all attachment was able to open (through the paper clip icon or save into other location.
Then after lunch, all type of attachment (picture, excel, words, pdf.) can not be open through the paper clip icon. Then i try to save it and open again, these message pop up "there was an error saving one or more of the attachments. Please check your free disk space and try again", i can't safe the attachment.
If forwarded to other people, it's ok, open and view as normal.
Another thing I encounter, i can't open web based email attachment as well,
since I'd forward (to try) the office attachment mail to my personal account.
I try to save it, the saving process as usual, but when saving is done, the file was not saved at all.
I'm using Vista Home basic, Version 6.0 (build 6002: SP2)
Window mail Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)
I have Win defender ON, and AVG free edition, Version 9.0.708
Some said it's IE 8 causing the problem, so i uninstall it, the same problem happened.
now I'm using IE 7 (Version 7.0.6002.18005)
Incoming jpg photo attachments cannot be opened. When I click on an attached file, the message "Windows can't find jpg file" appears. Get the same error if I want to open an outgoing jpg file. Have not made any changes to the computer other than adding IE8, but this problem occured before installing that. Reboots don't help and haven't found anything in troubleshooting that addresses this issue.

I keep current with upgrades. This laptop has always had a screwy copy of windows. I'm looking forward to Windows 7. I hope it has drivers for my 2+ year old Acer Aspire 5610. I am running Vista Home Edition/OL 07. I have an email in my outbox for 4 days that has a 1 GB file attached I cannot delete it is hanging up other very small emails also from going out. I have tried working offline and deleted the auto send receive, shutting down etc. Only way I can get any emails out at all is to shut down OL program and restart it, but that only works sometimes.
