Oct 30, 2008Something has always puzzled me, then again everything does lol but you know when you click on start and there is a Games button that you can use to play and manage your games? well when I install my games only some appear in there and its rather handy to see the ratings and such, not that I really follow it, but that is another story.
Back to my question, why do only a few games appear there, if anyone does'nt know what I mean, its the the screen which has a trophy icon on it and then the ratings etc.........I just find that only a few games appear there, but not all that I have installed, is this just a quirk of Vista? or is there something I can do to make it show all of them? As I install alot of games, I would like them all to appear there, but am confused as to why not.
How To Play These Pre-installed Games Again
Mar 23, 2008My 3 year old was playing "Purble Place" and accidentally opened several windows and had quite a few things up on the screen. We don't have an internet connection yet, so there isn't a risk of viruses, etc. But, ever since this happened only "Ink Ball" will open. The other games appear to still be on the computer (icons, info regarding them, etc) but nothing will open to play. Any tips on how to play these pre-installed games again?

Mar 23, 2008I bought my son a new CPU, and it has windows vista on it. None of his games he installed worked. They freeze up, and the graphics doesn't seem all that good. Does anyone know what I need to do, to make it work. I hate to think I spend 1400.00, and he can't play any of his games. Its not the graphics card, I made sure the cpu has everything he needs on it and more.

When I try to load full screen games my computer craps out and reboots. When Vista Ultimate x64 loads, it says my ATI graphics controller failed, but windows can not find a solution to this problem!
This has failed with CoD4 and the benchmark program that comes with the video card. I am running catalyst 8.8 because the others did not work for me either. When I install my drivers I uninstall ATI software through windows control panel, and reboot, then install new drivers and reboot again. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? I tried running CoD4 at different resolutions, 19xx x 16xx etc. I have a 24" monitor.
Installed Games On Sort Error
Nov 6, 2009i have a computer that runs on both windows xp and windows vista home premium.i can select which one i want to use when it boots up. I installed some games on XP a while back but now i primarily use vista.Whenever i start a game on vista that was installed on xp, the game gets some sort of error.When i start the xp installed game on windows xp it works just fiine. I primarily use vista and i want to be able to play the games i installed on windows xp on vista.

Mar 30, 2008My vista keeps locking up after various amounts of time, no matter whether its just idling, or im making the computer work hard. As ive read on other topics, I think its a driver issue, but I just dont know what to do. I will try another fresh vista install tomorrow and get the vista updates quickly to see whether that helps the situation. I have ensured it isnt overheating like it did initially when I bought the system, and it is now a safe and low temperature in a running state. Ive re-installed, windows, and it froze after I installed the chipset driver. I contiuned, and found a sound driver wasnt digitally signed. However it still crashes. I have got the latest drivers for it. For it to crash, all i did was open recycle bin, from idle state.

According to my computer no updates available however updates were last installed on 03/13/08 and yet when you look at installed updates it shows a windows defender update installed today. I have been reading several posts on this problem and have noticed that Carey Frisch posted a link to troubleshoot and now here is a problem and that is none of these apply to me... Jun 29, 2009let me start this nightmare story i had just done a fresh restalled and spent hours on getting everything installed on pc all was fine working perfectly untill that is i installed vista service pack 1 from windows updates the update process crashed halfway through so i had the only option to restart my pc then came the blue screen of death and it metioned if you have any new hardware installed make sure all drivers are installed etc etc of course i know it wasnt hardware it was because of me restating my pc half way threw the service pack 1 and the full files not been installed threw the update process crashed was the reason for the blue screen but the blue screen had notes advising me to clear shadow memory in the bois and any other memory so i stupidly assumed this was channel mapping and bank mapping and put them all to zero please see jpeg of what i changed i basically disabled everything that was enabled and put all the mapping channels and bank channels to zero and now when i switch on my laptop i get a blank screen with no post no ...........

I have been having problems with games ever since i built this system. Warcraft 3 plays fine but Halo and BFME crash the computer. The screen goes blank and then locks up after only a few minutes of game play. I have to unplug the machine to reboot. I have tried everything I know. I bought a new large CPU fan that has a speed control and I used a big glob of arctic silver on the cpu. Temps stay around 40C to 48C during use. I have updated all drivers. I have switched memory, tested the memory. Adjusted virtual memory. The only thing I have not tried is to install a new PSU. The one in the system is 750w and all the settings match the game requirements. I have examind the rail reading in bios and they all match the specs. I do not have an additional PSU so I am trying to troubleshoot this without having to get another PSU. I have installed updates to the games, windows, and all hardware. All drivers are windows signed and I only have problems with those two games. I have also pointed a large fan at the case just to see if it is a heat issue and the same thing happens.
Do These Games Run On 64?

Mar 23, 2008I have a client who until recently was able to run MS Games (Freecell, etc)For some unknown reason he can now only run these games by right clicking and running as Administrator. To try and run the games in the normal manner he gets a message "The publisher could not be verified" Strange when it's a Microsoft program. And even when he clicks yes to the message "Are you sure you want to run this software "he still is unable to get the program to run. Some info regarding the system. He is running Vista Home. with all the windows updates. No new software has been installed and the system has been checked for viruses etc. The user was created as an Administrator and he is the only person using this computer. I have tried a System Restore but to no avail. Any ideas as to what may have caused this and how to fix it.

X64 Crashes During Games
Nov 26, 2008I'm new to this forum, but I already some topics that are of some interest to me. I tried to find a solution for my problem, but I couldn't find any... I try to play Warcraft III and Fifa 09 and they bouth crash...Fifa verry fast and Warcraft in 10-15 minutes. The problem is identical - my computer freezes and some pixels go bannanas....i have the latest graphic card driver, recently installed latest DirectX and still no sollution... Nov 18, 2008I’ve been playing on my computer for a while and have noticed that whenever I play my games, my computer will freeze and hang up after about a couple minutes of playing into the game. The screen will freeze and whatever sound was playing will loop in the background. I cannot ctrl alt del out of the game and my computer requires a hard restart whenever this happens. I have been looking on some forums about this problem with games freezing and supposedly the fix was swapping the different RAM modules. I tried doing that but it still keeps freezing after playing for a bit. I then used Riva Tuner to turn up the fan on my graphics card to 100% but that did not help either. I have the latest drivers for Vista x64 too. I also tried playing the games in Windows XP (I am running both Vista and XP on my system) but the same thing happens. I then started to think if the 500W power supply was too low so we got a new 650W PSU, but haven’t put it in yet.

Nov 28, 2008Possibly not even a Vista problem, but this seems to be a pretty good resource overall so I was hoping somebody might have an idea what's wrong. I am running a pair of eVGA 7950 GT cards in SLI, no overclock anywhere, and I get a very odd display whenever I get into some kind of 3d game. I have attached a screenshot of HL2; however, this also happens in WoW so it's not game dependant. Any idea how I get rid of this crazy display? You can see there is some ghetto lettering that says SLI in the top left corner, and there is what could best be described as a green histogram along the left edge of the screen that "breathes" as the scene changes.

Mouse Lag In Games But Not Xp

Under windows xp i have no mouse lag at all :
Now i have installed windows xp sp3, vista ultimate x64 and seven, all the 3 OS with latest driver for mouse and VGA.

TRACKMANIA both tmu and forever,run crap on the 9600gt even with the newest driver,on the bench test fps came back anywhere from 91fps right down to 25fps!! after approx 5 tests then it starts to lock the machine up,have to press ctrl alt delet,then without me doing anything the game takes over and finishes the test,comes up with a low fps,...now if i run it on my low spec card runs 98% better but only at 36.9 fps everytime....
BATTLEFIELD 2 both cards will NOT run this game just flickers and odd looking pic blocks over the top of the screen but you can still see the main pic....thats the main 2 problems i have but for a one i do the odd beta game test can you tell me what is bitdefender antivirus is it apart on vista ? has this blocks me running some beta games testing online,i can not remember putting this on the
