Apr 12, 2007
I have had few troubles with my laptop + 2PCs in belkin network. The last problem to resolve on my PC: Window has recovered from a serious error, send message etc.Problem caused by Device Driver Active desctop Recovery Click :Restor My Desktop Click An error has occured in the script page
Computer is connected on a router, internet work fine. i just got a second computer today i formated it and installed windows XP pro on it all went fine, i installed lan video card, but when i try to connect its show an error page, the connection say i am connected and all.
I have a Dell Dimension 5100 with Winxp pro sp3 1 Meg of RAM and extra 500 gig hd: I changed (increaded) the Page File zise (Virtual Memory) on both drives and it corrupted the Registry. Now it does not even let me re-install winxp on that drive. Towards the end of the installation I get a message that it cannot copy certain files. The file names varies according to the SP version on the winxp pro cd. Also, I lost the original OS disk from DELL.
pagefile.sys is corrupted since it is fixed a 2GB whatever setting (no page file, system managed...). I choose in the virtual memory panel. I can't changed its size and would like to delete it so windows xp (sp2) can recreate a new correct one. the purge at shutdown does not work too and I don't know the password for the recovery console under the DOS. I am looking for a simple solution to delete this file which is on an ntfs partition.
I've recently put together an old computer using parts from 2 similar machines. The specs are.. Mobo: GA-K8VM800M
CPU: AMD Sempron 2800+ - o/ced to 2ghz tonight. HDD: Master - Seagate, Slave - Maxtor both 70gb Ram: 256 + 512 @ 400 Onboard VGA.. Standard 250V PSU
Okay so, i've been trying all night to install SP3 on this thing but every time I get this error "An Internal Error Occurred" and it's driving me crazy. I installed a fresh Windows XP SP2 on it and uninstalled the few updates I did through windows updates. I've cleaned the registry. I've done everything it says to do here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949384. I've tried installing it from the Windows updates page, i've tried installing it through Automatic updates and i've even downloaded the full SP3 Package (also tried this in safe-mode). I've read every freaking forum about this error and took their advice. Nothing works........
I recently did a system repair after having problems with Windows starting up, and I need to re-install sp2 for programs such as iTunes to work. When I try running the update wizard, it gets to the 'collecting inventory' (I think that's what it's called) stage, and then stops with an "An Internal Error Occured" message. Below I posted the data from svcpack.log.

I've been trying to rebuild my friend's PC for ages now and every time I get past the initial part of setup (boot from CD, create partition, copy files, reboot) I get this error message.I've done everything I can think off:I still get the same error message when I replace the hard drive with a new one.And I've read about a billion articles about this but none of them have the same solution.
Before I reinstall the OS,,, does anyone have the fix for DHCP issues. When I run ipconfig I get the internal error occured error. I have tried to retstart TCP/IP, I changed the name of the PC and ther group name then rebooted but notta.
For some reason when I go to Control Panel before it opens I get the message :An ERROR Occurred While Windows was working with the Control Panel File. C:WINDOWSSystem32Netsetup.cpl. I Googled it an found I could resolve it by RUN>MsConfig>Start Up and Unchecking IPMon32.So I just like to know exactly what this is and if it can cause any probs.by disabling it.
Because item removed by owner. Each time I try to put a new display background - It deletes it and does the same message as a background. Is this a virus?
Custom built system, Primary IDE connects to HDD Hitachi, Seconday IDE connects to Master DVD Burner 1.I opened my case, put in a 2nd DVD Burner in on Secondary IDE Slave. Fired the machine up, and the entire Secondary IDE fails to pick up both DVD's.I put it back the way it was, I swapped cables, ran the HDD from secondary IDE, tested the DVD's on the Primary IDE, and my conclusion is that I've somehow damaged the Secondary IDE from picking up any device. Now I am running the new DVD burner as Primary Slave and the HDD as Primary Master, I boot up and get
Im having a challenge when Im trying to maaped a workstation to a server on active directory server 2008. THE NETWORK MAPPED COULD NOT BE CREATED BECAUSE THE FOLLOWING ERROR HAD OCCURED. AN EXTENDED ERROR HAS OCCURED.
When i boot windows XP i very often get a A disk read error occured. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. Does anyone know what is the reason for this? It boots successfully around 30% of the times i try.
I've got Windows XP and when I try and remove McAfee using the 'add/remove programs' Uninstaller, it comes up with an error message (no number - just 'an error has occured while trying to uninstall McAfee Security System'). I have succesfully uninstalled other components of McAfee, like the spamkiller and firewall, but can't get rid of this last bit, which I need to do to install my new software. I've also tried uninstalling from the start menu but no option comes up under the programme list.
I've spent about half the day building my new PC - a Windows XP Pro 64-bit box. I've installed the hardware and it is recognized by the BIOS on my Gigabyte PE45 UD3L motherboard.. The next step was to install the OS, a 64-bit version of Windows XP Pro. All went well until the installation program prompted me to reboot. I received the message: "A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart." I've done this four or five times now, with and without the installation CD loaded. If the CD is loaded, the installation program tries to copy the files to the hard drive all over again. I went along with this once, thinking maybe the first time some driver had been corrupted. I have also changed the boot order in the BIOS, with first boot to the HD. I have reset the Fail-Safe Defaults in the BIOS. There are two hard drives in the PC, 320GB SATA Western Digitals. One of them has not been partitioned; the other was partitioned by the Win XP installation program.
I continuously get 'ERROR this page cannot be displayed' when I try to send a greeting card or access another web page. What is going on? I tried to fix and enabled all that I thought was necessary on settings.
I keep trying to install .net Framework in order to be able to instal a number of other programs. However, when I try to install Framework, I always get a message saying that an error has occured when trying to create a directory in such and such file an the setup shuts down. i know for sure my account has full admin. rights so I know that can't be the problem. Any idea what I can do? As I said, there are other programs I want to install however they say I require .net Framework to install it.
My computer has recently started giving me an error message that says "A disk read error occurred. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart." during startup. The first time this came up I took it into the repair shop the morning after. They turned the computer on, it started normally, and after keeping it overnight they returned it to me saying that they could find nothing wrong with it.It worked normally for about 2 days after that and then when I was using it the system suddenly became unresponsive. I was forced to turn it off via the button on the front of my tower, and when I turned it back on the disk read error message came back up. The next morning when I turned it on it was fine.
I am having an issue with a Maxtor Model Number 92739U6 hard drive. I have just finished formatting and installing windows xp home edition. Everything was going ok until I restarted the computer. First right after I restarted the computer I got an error message A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press CTRL+ALT+Del. I was unsure what caused this error message so I started to research this issue on Maxtor?s website and they advised me to use fdisk /mbr to repair the error. I did that and restarted the computer. Same Error?. The thing I can?t figure out is why I am able to boot right to windows using a boot disk.
Everything has been fine with my 3 and a half year old ADVENT PC, and I've been successful in upgrading parts such as DVD Drives, adding extra RAM and installing my new graphics card. However, in the past few days, when I boot up my PC, it stops at what I believe the DOS screen (part with BOOT FROM CD etc.) and will say A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to restart. This happens 2/3 of the times I turn on the PC.Also, if I do press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the PC restart, it is normally successful, and will boot up Windows perfectly. Just this morning, it gave me the error, and with 2 Ctrl+Alt+Delete restarts, it's working perfectly, hence I can type this.
A Disk Read Error Has Occurred Press ctrl alt del to restart I keep getting that message when i turn on my computer its been like that for the past few days. Im Using windows XP Bell system optiplex 170L series Bios version A07 I can access the setup menu and the boot menu but idk what to do. im a computer noob.
I have had XP Home installed on a new Seagate hard drive for about 2 months. Suddenly, the computer did a restart and now it will not open Windows. It finds all my drives and then goes to a screen displaying "a disc read error has occured. Press control, alt, delete to restart." On restart, I receive the same message. I have tried checkdisc, fix boot and fix master boot record in the recovery console on my cd but nothing works. Is this a problem with the hard drive or Windows? Any suggestions would be helpful. I would hate to have to reinstall Windows.
I'm running Windows XP on a EMachines PC. The PC is only a little over a year old. Suddenly tonight I have what appears to be a DOS screen that says "A Disk Read Error Occurred. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart". After doing a ctrl alt delete, I keep getting the same screen again. Can anyone shed some light on how to restart my PC? Is the hard drive shot?
Recently I was playing a game, when my screen froze. I then shut my computer down to restart it, used it a few times (in 4-bit safe mode), then after I shutdown again, I cant log back in... it just freezes and the screen flashes, I cannot boot into my computer setup (default f2) or into safe mode (default f8), however I can run the XP cd and get into the recovery console, is there any way that I can change the boot sequence from the recovery console? The screen is dotted with a bunch of dots up and down the screen in columns, and is in 4-bit video mode.
I have a Dell xps gen 5 with xp home.
the error I get is:
"Error: Cant enter setup. Video Mode 103 not supported by this video card."
When I start up, I get a black screen with this: Disk read error occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to restart So I do. Same thing happens. I don't have any CDs or anything in the drive. The computer had also been shutting down randomly on me prior to this.
Got to device manager in safe mode and video adapter appeared to have conflicts with USB device. Attempted to resolve. Must have done something wrong, can't get close any more Normal boot gets ''1. I have a bit of a problem, for some reason my system is showing "unknown" in my device manager, the only hardware that has been installed on this system is a new video card, (radeon HD5570) that seemed to go in without a hitch. Simultaneously, with this appearing I started having issues with windows media player not play .mod files, using web help it says that I need to update my audio drivers, but according to Dell they are good. Would really like some help with this.
