Minimizing Results In Disappearance / Wont Go To Task Bar?
Oct 5, 2006when I minimize a page it disappears ,it doesn'y go to my task bar .any reason why?

Transferring Files From One Place To Another Results In Disappearance ?
Nov 22, 2009I wanted to transfer all my files from one box to another, so I rammed in the gateway hard drive, copied all files in the root of the drive, and pasted it into a folder on my New desktop.When the file transfer finished, the folder (on the New desktop) disappeared... Funny. So, I checked the hidden files in explorer. Not there...Well, I used the command prompt. Not there either. After a while, I forgot about it, and just recently got a new defrag program (SmartDefrag).

Jan 30, 2005My Windows XP Pro Search function is working, however, when I exit the program "Search Results" remains in the task bar and will not close out. The only way to end this is by using the Task Manager. After ending the program with Task Manager some of the running programs originally on the Task Bar do not return. I am not sure whether this is a Search function or Task Manager problem. I have run System File Checker with no luck.

Jun 29, 2006Had diffs yesterday with computer running at snail speed > did ad-aware/norton scans to clean up > now when I minimize any open window, the tab/s just disappear/s to the left of the lower taskbar so they can't be opened easily again. Must be an easy fix for this but after hours of research in MS Help + Google + your existing threads, haven't been able to source a solution.It happened once before but I can't recall how I got it going properly again - that's what age does to the memory!! Now when I have a PC prob & manage to solve it, I note the solution for the future!Would greatly appreciate any suggestions to solve this irritating prob.

I am trying to create a task using Task Scheduler, and it asks me to "set account information". I am given three boxes. One of them, marked Run as has "COMPUTERJesse" already filled in. The other two are marked Password and Confirm Password. This is odd, because I am running under an Admin account (yes, generally not smart, but I'm smarter than the average bear when it comes to computers, so I feel confident I'm not going to mess it up with downloading viruses and such
I clicked OK to get out of the "Set Account Information" box, and in the entry for my task, the Status is listed as "Could not Start", Last Result is "0x0", and Creator is "Jesse". how can I get Task Scheduler to run the task and most of all, obey my authori-tah?
Task Manager And Task Bar Not Responding
Feb 27, 2006I recently downloaded some media files and straight after my computer slowed down to a crawl and then would not respond. The mouse pointer remains active but i cannot click on anything succesfully. The task bar and task manager do not respond at all, i can open files saved on my desktop but cannot do anything when they're open and cannot close them again. I reset my PC a number of times but this did not solve the problem. I assume this is a virus or spyware problem but could it possibly be anything else?

Sep 21, 2006Freshly configured windows XP pro. installed SP2 that I had on a disk. installed avg free, when IE is started, an svchost program starts, and eats up 99% of the resources. I try to get the windows updates which I believe would solve this problem, but I can not. May 1, 2005Here are my results after running l2mfix, the other thread is closed so I am posting a new one.The problem I am having is that all of a sudden last week my IE took over my computer for no reason.I had walked away from my machine for about an hour, I do this often, and came back and couldn't do anything.Upon reboot, same thing, IE will not open and it will eat RAM, 100k to 200k making the entire system slow.I have used spybot and AdAware to remove all spyware and malware found. I have used RAMbooster.net also. Nothing is working. Before I go an uninstall the program I want to get to the root of the problem and then complete delete IE off my system. I am no using Opera and FireFox.

After trying this for about 20 times I decided to try something else.The PC had win98 on it so it was working .i loaded the pc with winxp pro but an older edition.It does not include any service packs .and seems to be running fine.Then I loaded servicepack one and still no problems with XP After loading the second service pack the pc hanged again at the startup.

However, every once in awhile, it will stop sending faxes even though there are faxes still showing in the Outbox of the Fax Console and Fax Monitor shows Ready to send. What we do see in the Fax Monitor's more>> window is that the last fax said that the fax did not answer, fax was cancelled after about 5 minutes of sitting there trying and it requeued the fax. It then shows a message of Fax Device Error.There is nothing in the Event Logs showing that there is a device problem. Looking at the Printers and Faxes in the Control Panel show the Fax is Ready.
