Internet Explorer Needs To Close :: Do I Want To Send Error
Jan 25, 2009
I have windows xp. I was running internet explorer 7 with no problems until I installed Norton 360, then all I get when loading IE is a message that Internet Explorer needs to shut down, "do I want to send error " When I click either send or do not send, Internet Explorer shuts down. I assume I have to do something in Norton to allow IE, but can not find any thing.
Recently, I have come across a problem in the internet Explorer of my system. After I start Internet Explorer it does not cause any problem but when I close even one Internet Explorer window it asks me if I should send the error report. Even if I say, Send Report or Don't Send,it just closes down all my Internet Explorer opened windows.
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close I get this dozens of times a day and do not know why it keeps happening. I looked at the error report details which was huge and indecipherable and it said the following will be included in the report
this error message is displayed when i try to launch internet explorer. i don't think they are really sorry like they say. the other browsers , such as firefox are no problem. this applies whether i use internet explorer alone, or through msn. the only way i can get to my emails . is through msn messenger, and then my emails. it's driving me nuts , and i am not massively computer literate
I have encountered a few sites where this happens.. now it seems to be happening more often. I attempt to go to a web site and get a pop up that says 'click to run ActiveX controls. then I get pop up that says.."Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience". send error report or don't send either way Internet explorer then shuts down
Internet Explorer Problem. It was an Add-Ons problem but I can't seem to fix it.When I am in the original window of Internet Explorer and I click on a link that opens a new window. When I want to close the new window it will close down all of Internet Explorer and leave a Blank Page. Then it will want to report the error. It did not used to do this. It seemed to have started happening about the time I upgrade IE and they started the new tabs. I work online and I need it to stay open. I also need to be able to close those extra windows so i don't have to many piling up. It is really bogging down my work.
I'm running windows xp on a e-machine and several days ago it stopped loading when I turn the computer on i get the start screen the a error message saying windows explorer has encountered a problem and it need to close it closes then i get nothing I can not even get the start screen. I can get in on safe mode but then i cant sign on the internet please help and when i try to sign on it shows i have a DSL modem and i don't i use dial up.
Sometimes (but not always) when I click on the checkbox in the upper right to close Internet Explorer, it takes a long time to close the window--up to 3 minutes. During this time I can't get to my desktop by clicking on the "show desktop" icon on my toolbar either.
using Internet Explorer version 6.0. All working fine until recently. When I visit ONE particular website, I get the error message that Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can see all other websites with no problem. The data in the error report say Error Signature: AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: mshtml.dll ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106 Offset: 0006ce26.
I just reformatted a friends computer, win XP Home, Dell 4500S. Did all the normal driver installations from Dell Resource CD. Installed SP2 from a disc. And proceeded to do the rest of 'various' program installs, firewall, antivirus, antispyware and then windows updates. At some point I arrived at a state where I could not close Internet Explorer. Not via the ''X'' or File/close. I could min and max the window. I could open 'other' Internet Explorer windows and close them just fine. I finally used the task manager to close Internet Explorer. I did a google search and came across a KB884768 from 2004. Quite frankly, I didn't understand the KB. I did the steps to reproduce the problem. Was that supposed to fix the problem or do I still have a problem? And if I do still have a problem how do I fix it. Do I need to uninstall IE6 via the control panel and then reinstall same? Problem occured twice within about 3 hours. Computer seems to be working fine
Right after I connect to the Internet, I have been getting an error report coming up saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." This has been happening repeatedly.
Lately out of nowhere ive been recieveing error messages when i close internet explorer. When i close it first i get an error report screen. If i either send the error report or dont send i get the following message. "An error has occured in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems please restart your computer." When i click on ok sometimes i recieve this message after that. "The instruction at "0x01e21f99" refrenced memory at 0x01e21f99". The memory could not be "read". Clock on ok to terminate the program" Now after this i restart my computer but for some reason that doesnt work either
I have a PC which boots up okay and I can double click on any icon, they open and when I minimise them they minimise. When I start Internet Explorer it all works fine with other icons maximising and minimising as they should. However when I close Internet Explorer I can't click on any icons and when I select them from the Start, Programs menu they start but won't minimise.
Internet Explorer includes some great security features. For this tweak I will talk about the feature that clear the temporary internet files each time you close internet explorer. This is a very useful feature since it saves disk space and also keeps the websites that you downloaded private.
Wondering if anybody can help me with this, every time i try to enter a folder with video files i get a windows explorer message saying theres an error and needs to close, and leaves this error signature; AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000
I'm getting the "An Error Has Occured and Internet Explorer Must Close" message a lot. It's happened about 10 times today. I did a lot of Microsoft Updates today. Would that be the cause
Can anyone tell me why I keep getting this error message?"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.""error signature AppName: explorer ,.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.4412 ModName: duser.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.5512 Offset: 0002acfa"This does not seem to create any problems but keeps showing up.
I was surfing net and recently the following error message popped up on my screenDr. Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.before this another error came : windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.I am thinking to format my boot drive but still i wanna kno the reason because i have experienced this thing earlier as well
The other day i tried to install a game. When I tried to open it, it told me it couldn't find d3d9.dll. When I put d3d9.dll into the right folder, it said: The procedure entry point DdEntry12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll. So I thought it was a problem with the game. When I installed another game, the same thing happened. After some internet research, I found that this was a DirectX problem and that what I needed to do was update it. So I downloaded the new version and installed it but the same thing happened. Later, I downloaded an app that required Flash Player. It told me I had version 6 when I needed at least version 9. So I went to Adobe's website and downloaded and installed Flash Player 10.
But when I tried to open the app, it still said i had version 6! So I started to realize that the computer didn't recognize updates to software. So, I told myself, maybe if I update Windows, it'll work. So, I went to the Windows Update and it told me KB888162 (I think that's the one) was a critical update. So I clicked on Install and then, a window popped up telling me that Explorer.exe had encountered a problem and needed to close. This happened every time I try to update and even sometimes when I open Control Panel. (I have Windows XP, by the way).
When I open My Computer and right click on the C: drive to bring up drop-down menu, it always says that Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close.
Long time since I posted for help but right now I have the Windows Explorer message Winows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience. in the middle of my screen It appears on boot and remains there .If I click close ,the desktop icons disappear and reappear and the message also reappears several seconds later,In those few seconds things seem to operate normally but after it appears, things on the screen just blink once when I click on them and nothing else happens. If I click something , and then click close on the message, it clears the desktop and reappears the previous click is then executed and the lockup is back .I can do things one at a time by repeating this closing process and the application on the screen does not close but reappears also
Every time I exit Overlord I get Send/Don't Send error with modname "ntdll.dll". A mate of mine has the same error. ps: is is normal that Windows XP has so many errors?
I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.
I don't know what's up with my computer, but I'm getting all these Windows Explorer errors saying that Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, and so folders won't stay open. what's up with this
I'm new to this site. After searching the archives for a problem close to the one I'm having I came up empty so I decided that it would be best to get individual help. I've been having, what I would consider, a minor problem with my machine. There is a folder that, whenever it is clicked, causes this error message to pop up "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close." I am then given the option of sending or not sending an error report to Microsoft. I can't do anything with this folder. One click and that error message pops up and the window closes. Recently, I've noticed that whenever I right click and try to "save as" a file on the web I get an error that says " The filepicker was unexpectedly closed by Windows." There is no text in the gray area, that message appears in the blue title bar part of the pop up. I can then only choose "OK" and the window I'm working in freezes. I cannot delete the folder because it has files in it that I need and it's impossible anyway becuase of the Explorer problem. I really want help to do 3 things: 1. Find out what's causing these problems 2.Get my files back and 3. Delete or fix the folder so as to stop the problem.
Recently, upon startup, i have been getting an error message that says "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It then asks me to tell Microsoft about the problem and i have the option to either send a error report or not to send one. Either way, after choosing one windows explorer terminates and restarts itself. Then the same error message pops up. Recently, when i keep sending the error report, after about the 4th or 5th time, my desktop will just freeze up
I try to open Internet Explorer I get the following message: iexplore.exe- entry point not found The procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll. This message occurred after I tried to repair Windows. I have tried uninstalling IE and reinstalling it. It will not reinstall on my computer because it says I don't have Sp2.
I try to logon to Chase.com, I get the following: internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Error Signature: appname: iexplore.exe, modver: 5.1.2600.3119, appver: 7.0.600.16473, offset: 00012a5b, modname: kernel32.dll. I am running windows xp, sp2 and ie 7.0. This only happens to one website.
I try to log onto MSN (when I click on the big blue E) I keep getting this error message: Cannot find file:///c./WINDOWS/s.htm'. Make sure path or Internet Access is correct. I am running windows xp and am not having any problem getting e-mail or getting on Yahoo.
Getting this error message all the time: Internet explorer has encountered a problem and will shut down, blah, blah, blah. send report-don't send report. Sometimes it closes all the tabs I have opened, sometimes only part of the page comes up or it does recover but I keep getting the message. I often have to start all over and it's so frustrating and irritating. I'm using windows XP.
