Using XP Pro SP2.Windows explorer doesn't show c:documents and settings/jdl/cookies folder when opened from the start->programs menu. However, Start->Run with c:documents and settingsjdlcookies typed in opens the folder. Folder options->View has the "Show hidden folders" option checked.I do not have the windows xp disk since the program was loaded from a corporate server several years ago. I no longer work for that company.Any assistance would be appreciated. Not a big deal since I can access the folder. It may, however, indicate that other problems are afoot. I discovered this when Counterspy Ver. 2 Beta identified the cookie from CNET Networks, Inc., and I couldn't find it in Windows Explorer.

I use the Firefox browser, but from time to time I have to use Explorer's. As of late I've found that every time I use Explorer my address bars history has been cleared.
Can someone please tell me why this is happening, I had created on my desktop 2'new folders', I then decided to delete these created folders, yet everytime I shut down my pc and reboot the following day, these 2 'new folders' miraculously keep reapearing on my desktop even though I deleted them earlier and cleared my recycle bin, how perfectly bizarre is this, can anyone shed any light on what I ought to do to permanently delete these from my pc?

I have windows xp pro installed on my computer. Can I uninstall that and reinstall windows xp home and have everything cleared off my computer? I want to clean everything off of it and start over.
nephew stayed with us for a month and accessed a number of adult sites on our computer. Now, when we enter certain first letters in the address line, the names of several of those sites show up even though he (and we) have gone to "Tools" and "Cleared History." They are not ... as far as we can tell ... in our "Favorites", so how do we get rid of these references? They're mighty embarrassing.
I am trying to place an order on Buy.com and it will not let me log in on my Windows XP machine. When I try to log in I get a "We were unable to access the page you requested. Our server may be busy. Please wait a few seconds, then try again. "when I try to place something in the cart w/o being logged in I get a "Your Shopping Basket is Empty If you have tried to add an item to your basket and the basket is still empty, you may not have "cookies" enabled on your browser. A site http://icsfamily.com, When I browse using IE 6 from specific machine, and afterlogin if I stay in site and browse to different pages, or surf out and in again I am asked to log in again. The problem started only now, when using Mozilla it is OK, when using IE on another machine it is also OK. When I login and open cookie folder I see the file and actually see it disappear few seconds after. I have sent the cookie to the support guys, but they said its OK and am sure the problem is my side as Mozilla is OK and other machines are OK.
Cookies are no longer being saved to my cookie folder in C:Documents and Settings User Name Cookies, but rather to a newly created folder in C:WindowsCookies. Very annoying as I clear this folder everyday. I have not visited any new sites which could redirect the folder. I have not downloaded any new programs or made any changes to my system which might have cause this. I have tried a system restore, but the does nothing. I have tried deleting the cookie folder in C:Documents and Settings User Name Cookies, hoping that on reboot it would recreate itself, however the system will not allow me to delete a "required folder". I have tried to cut and paste the folder in C:Windows to no avail. error message. cannot move, being used by another person or program.
I upgraded the Grisoft AVG 7.5 Anti Virus program. Some sites I cannot log on to at all. Some sites , like this one, I can log on but it won't remember me & I have to log in again. I am constantly getting the Security Alert banner on the screen. The one about the certificates. I tried going to the Elder Geek for IE repair but it said I need the Service pak CD and I don't have that.
I find tracking cookies on my machine all the time. Casalemedia, hitbox and a host of others. If I quarantine them, will the websites that installed them install another instance of them? Or will the website see that it is on my machine and leave it alone? I suppose the fact that it's quarantined means that it won't be able to be noticed and will get reinstalled? Correct?
I've just installed a new voip router alongside my broadband router and it all worked fine. Sadly I can't log on to "My Ebay" page and a couple of other sites which I log into, I can access the home pages it's just the log in sections I can't access.
I've tried deleting my cookies in the Internet Options area, but I still can't log in, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do next or what the problem might be
I did for a while activate the "prompt" alternative on Favorites/Tools/Internet Options/Privacy/Advanced to block unwanted cookies. Then I blocked cookies from a site that I usually visit, marking the "always." option. The result was that I was blocked from entering the site. I then reversed all of my previous actions, letting the browser deal automatically with cookies as it saw fit (greying out all the rest of the alternatives on that window), restarted the computer and returned to the site. But all I get is a pop-up saying "You must activate cookies on your browser", at various stages, sometimes after I give the password and all, sometimes as soon as the home window comes up. I repeated all the a/m actions several times, but with the same result. I have XP with SP2, IE6, Pentium d. Any help will be appreciated - Amos.
My OS is Wind. XPPro with Internet Explore 6.0 SP2 (Upgraded) I tried to get some additional pages from a web, but instead I had a notice that my computer does not have the necessary cookies

system is set to automatically delete cookies. There's a couple of cookies I would like to keep permanently short of manual selective deletion, is there a way to protect them from deletion ?
When the cookies box pops up and I reject it, then sometimes I can't use the website. Well I went and added one of the websites to my privacy thing and clicked always allow but it still won't allow it. It is very annoying and I want to be able to use certain websites. Why isn't it working
