My desktop computer has stopped connecting to the web and to my email account. Last night it worked fine; today nothing. I have checked my settings and everything is OK - IP address, etc. and my modem is configured correctly.I called my ISP techie, and he said the DSL line is functioning and I'm online. My wireless connection is obviously working. The only thing that seems to have changed is the McAfee downloaded a very large update (took about 20 minutes) this morning and installed it; after that I couldn't get on the internet or open email.I hadn't tried either before the loaded though. Could it be related to the download e.g., the installation changed some setting or messed with the registry?
Im using a dial up connection, when turn my pc on and go online there is no problem but once I disconnect and want to go online again when I try to connect a message appear Error633 the modem or other connecting device is already in use or not configured properly to connect again I always need to restart the computer. Ive already reinstall my modem but its still the same.
We have one computer that is unable to connect via RDP to two servers. The system gives an error "The remote session was disconnected because there are no Terminal Server Licenses". We know that it is a computer issue because we can have that same user logon to another computer and they can use RDP to connect to all servers. This is a fresh install of XP Pro SP3. We have 5 different servers that users can logon to, 3 are Server 2000 and the other 2 are Server 2003.
I am to trying connect my daughters pc to the internet.A friend has built it from various pcs and it was working fine at his house.Surfing and downloading programs fine. When i brought it home and took out my LAN cable from my pc and connected it to her pc a Local Area Connection error shows.2 little pcs in the task bar area next to the clock with a yellow warning triangle saying Limited or No Connection.Told my friend who asked me to Start/Run/CMD then IPCONFIG /RENEW.This then is displayed. Windows XP totally up to date. I think. When I open Outlook Express {email} I keep getting messages that "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close".....and it does close when I click on send error report. At times when it does work for awhile, when I click to delete a email, that email won't show as deleted from inbox, but when I then go to the deleted folder it shows up there....checking back at the inbox the email is now gone from the inbox.
I'm running Outlook Express on Windows XP Professional. When I send an email the message is sent with an undisplayed warning and the message remains in the Outbox after it has been sent resulting in it being continually resent until I manually delete it from the Outbox. A copy of the message is not saved to the Sent Folder even though the option is checked.I have run Nortons Utilities - and other utilities - and cleaned up Windows Registry and other Windows Errors - to fix my problem (without success). Is my Outbox damaged? Do I have to restore Outlook Express?
I just got a new computer with WinXPHome. All works OK except I can not receive my email into OE 6, all email stays with AT&T's Webmail, which I do not want to use. My old Win98 computer has no problems with getting my email. The settings on both computers are the same. I have disabled NAV email scanning. I have no idea what to do. I like OE, and want to continue using it.
I'm running Windows XP SP 2 and I get an error message whenever i connect my blackberry curve to the computer. if the usb device is stopped, it will go away, but other than that it won't disappear after clicking cancel. if it helps, I installed the roxio media manager only yesterday, when the error first came up. I'm attempting to remotely connect to a laptop running Vista, and I'm using XP. The problem is that I don't know how to do it. And She can't access the internet from her system. She has contacted her internet provider, and they have assured her that everything checks out on their end, but she still can't connect.I was going to remotely download some software from my computer and send it to hers.

When my Mom proffers an invitation for remote assisance using MSN Messenger 7.0 she recieves the following: "Remote Assistance cannot connect because <user> denied the request for help". I've looked at some of the other, similar, threads posted on connectivity issues with 7.0 in these forums, but nothing seems to help. We can send and recieve each others video and audio. Also, the games work. I've tried to do this with a couple of other freinds with the same result. Before we were forced into the 7.0 upgrade there were no problems. I've checked my settings to allow RA, reinstalled 7.0, tried using Windows Messenger, and have tried doing this with my firewall (ZoneAlarm) disabled.
2 days ago my itunes had problems connecting and then my msn explorer stopped connecting so did firefox i have internet explorer 7 installed i have done for ages i dont use it but get pop ups from starware sometimes an a message pops up sayin about working offline cause it cant connect i dont know if i accidently pressed work offline or not but my firefox will connect and work on safe mode. Sometimes I have to re-install windows without uninstalling my programs. When I do this-- the programs are still there, BUT, XP can't connect to them. I have to reinstall the programs. How do I avoid this and/or what do I need to do to get everything back as it was? This is NOT for a complete format and reload.
I am having trouble connecting to web browers. I am connected to the internet, and can still connect to MSN, AIM etc., most of the time.Basic Info:I am using Windows XP (version 5.1.26, Home edition) I am using a cable modem I am also using a router for internet sharing between my desktop computer (directly connected to router) and my laptop computer.I scanned my system by running network diagnostics to gether more information. The scanning traced a problem under "Network Adapters". More specifically, it says "(FAILED)" next to the IP Address, and "(PASSED)" next to everything else: Default Gateway, DHCPServer, DNSServerSearchOrder.I gather the IP address is the problem (though the IP address itself appears normal, beginning with 192.168).
A Wanadoo-a789 Model: dv4210-wa as a router and 2 computers both running windows xp and were both reinstalled not long ago, for a while they were able to talk to each other but for some reasson they just can't see each other now, they can't even ping each other. I finally relented and installed service pack 2 recently and my computer has been EXTREMELY sluggish and has frozen up a few times. Currently, two LAN icons appear in the tray at the bottom, one with my DSL connection, the other saying there is no connection
