I use a developer program to make executables (hobby of mine saves me going troppo) called Clarion, it works OK, I made a DOSable program with it, it works OK.
Once I could open to full size DOS screen by pressing the Alt+Enter keys and it would stay open until I was finished with it, then I could revert back to a small screen by pressing Alt+Enter keys again.
Now if I press Alt+Enter keys the DOS screen appears, but it stays open in full screen for a couple of seconds then automatically closes back to the usual small screen.
I have tried right clicking on the icon, properties, screen and putting a dot in the full size option, but this does not work.
I have scanned my PC for viruses etc but no joy there.
I have Dialup only, so don't ask me to do a Panda or Trend scan as they drop you if you no got broadband.
I'm using XP pro, 512meg ram, using a Gigabyte MB, and Nivida video card.
XP working OK-dokie, sound ok-dokie, video ok-dokie, screen to DOS wonkie.
how to fix this?
This all started out that I was having a microphone audio recording problem the other day and was trying to solve that...A couple of days ago, I did a complete HP System Restore on my computer to try to fix the problem, not realizing that it would do all that it did to my computer. Im having to re-install alot of my programs, etc. Now When Im trying to watch a video online, if I click the 'full screen' view it comes up just totally white screen with no picture at
all.
I have about an 2" black space around an open page on my screen......how do I get it to return to original full screen size?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have searched for some weeks now and have seen an increase in people who also found that while viewing in the Full Screen option on You Tube and/or Hulu.com that the "Press Esc to Exit Full Screen" message that appears in the center of the screen does Not fade away after a few seconds. Of course that makes Full Screen viewing unacceptable. I posed the question to the site itself and have never received a reply. One general forum said something about Unlocking certain Files (Adobe) that were found locked because of cookie handling upon installation, but as a novice that is beyond my comprehension. In any case, is anyone aware of a fix for this problem? (That message is not suppose to stay there) I am using Win XP IE8. I tried viewing using the Firefox Browser (3.5.2) and it did not help.

I tried the trick used in WIN me of stretching the corners of the screen to make it full size, but the next time it does not come up full size. I don't believe it did this when I first started using WIN XP, but with many program additions, it just started to happen. My PC is a COMPAQ with 2.5 Celeron. PC is only 4 months old.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have an XP workstation that runs a DOS application that is started up using a PIF file. The DOS app runs fine but does not display a full screen vertically. Horizontially, it displays a full screen since I checked the Full Screen mode in the PIF file parameters. I want to have the entire screen taken up by the display of the DOS program. Two other PCs (one a WIN98 PC and the other a WIN2K PC) display in a complete screen.

Its like a miniature version of my desktop? How did I do that? I can't drag the corners or otherwise make it larger by anything I tried. How did this happen? Does this mean my LCD is shot?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want open IE and see the page displayed in the "Full Screen" mode. No matter how I close IE (6.0 SP2) when I re-open it comes up in what I assume is the default "small cluttered screen" mode. I know how to get my display into "Full Screen" using the View menu drop down or by clicking on the Full Screen icon and by using the F11 key. What I need to know is how to get it to open as a "Full Screen" every time I open IE? Is there a setting I can change so I do not have to manually change into "Full Screen" each time I use IE?

I want to be able to run full screen applications on one monitor and switch to applications on the other without the fullscreen app collapsing to the desktop. Is there any way to do this?
I understand that the alternative to this to just run the full screen app in windowed mode, but not all programs support this. Is there any third party software that can force a program to run in windowed mode?
I'd greatly appreciate any insight anyone may have..thank you for taking the time to help me.
My taskbar becomes unusable in a number of situations. By unusable I mean that I cant use it to select any open programs, open the windows start menu, or select anything from the notification area. IN short it losses all functionality. Programs already launched may be visible, but they can not be selected. Occasional bits of the taskbar are missing (and I can see the desktop background) or they are simple black.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is really starting to aggravate me. I fixed a computer for a guy by re-installing Windowx XP on it with Service Pack 2. He installed Service Pack 3 after I specifically said "DO NOT INSTALL SERVICE PACK 3!!!". Anyways, it started acting funny so I have it back. Now when it starts up I get a black screen full of zeros on it right after the Gateway screen. I am trying to put a fresh copy of Windows XP on it, but all of the writing is jumbled and the zeros remain. Anyone experience this and know how to make it display correctly again? Everything looks fine once it gets into Windows or on the Gateway bootup screen, just the "dos" screens have zeros on them and I cannot do anything with it like this.

I also have a Dell 2009W monitor and I get its max resoltion of 1680x1024 without any issues.
My ACER monitor is connected to VGA port and I am able to change the resolution to different settings like
1280x1024, 1680x1050, 1920x1200 *but* the last display which fits correctly on my screen is 1280x1024, beyond this any resolution leaves almost 4 inches of screen on left and 2 inches of screen on right blank. I cant move my mouse or do anything in those areas.
Ok so after fixing the problem i had earlier with the OS i finially sorted it out . I installed everything and it all went to plan , then i reliase that xp is only unsing like half the screen ..it only uses a small box and not the full screen

The thing is that since some time ago, whenever I start a game or any other DirectX program in full screen it resizes all opened windows to that programs screen resolution. Even dxdiag full screen tests seem to cause it.
Once the full screen program exits or if I alt-tab out of it, all mine previously maximized windows are resized to fit in whatever resolution the DirectX app was running but they seam to think they are still maximized (2 squares instead of one on the maximize button and I need to press it twice to actually maximize them again, and also their size when not maximized seam to be changed to the app's resolution as well I normally run my desktop at 1280x1024 resolution
