Vundo Infection Recurring
Oct 16, 2008
I have a vundo infection (on it's automatic scans) i ran superantispyware pro and it said clean.
Then i restarted, and it was back.
I ran superantispyware pro again, along with cwshredder, spybot, spyware blaster, and prevx. the infection seemed to be gone, but then the next day trendmicro alerted me that it was in my system restore. so i turned off system restore, restarted, re-enabled system restore and made a restore point.
The infection isn't gone.

Boot partition (C) has about 3.5 GB free. As I start using the PC, the free space on C partition keeps reducing. It does not matter what I am doing - accessing internet, playing games or working with Open Office. Finally, after some time the free space falls below 200 MB and I start getting Low Disk Space warning.
I have cleaned up old files from this partition. The pagefiles are on D drive and secondary drive (G). The frequency of creating SR points by Windows is reduced to once a month.I also run Iolo System Mechanic and it has not reported any problems.
I created a BAT file to report directory and file sizes for "C:Windows", "C:Program Files" and "C:Documents and Settings" at regular intervals. There is some increase in size of some files in C:WindowsInternet Logs and C:WindowsLogs but that does not match the corresponding decrease in available free space (the decrease is greater).

Can someone please tell me why this is happening, I had created on my desktop 2'new folders', I then decided to delete these created folders, yet everytime I shut down my pc and reboot the following day, these 2 'new folders' miraculously keep reapearing on my desktop even though I deleted them earlier and cleared my recycle bin, how perfectly bizarre is this, can anyone shed any light on what I ought to do to permanently delete these from my pc?

PC hangs in any one of the following ways;screen blinks black for a second of so, then returns but is frozen (no mouse movement or anything)screen blinks black and returns but all garbled & corrupted and frozen screen blinks black and monitor says "no input" and promptly turns itself off this usually occurs between half an hour and an hour of turning the PC on.. but the duration is by no means fixed, and it will sometimes only last a few minutes. the same applies after a restart.

I jus put together my own system. I bought a P4 511 processor and an ASUS P5P800-MX motherboard and two 512 MB sticks of RAM I'm using my old 40 GB harddrive from my previous computer. I had installed Windows XP Professional with SP2 and it all worked fine. I then turned my computer off for the night and the next day when I started the computer it would not boot into windows it showed the error message "The following Windows file is missing or corrupt: WINDOWSSYSTEM32CONFIGSYSTEM". I booted from the windows XP cd and went into the recovery console and used CHKDSK /R and when that finished Windows booted up fine. However everytime i turn the PC off the error occurs again. Any ideas how to fix this problem permanantly instead of jus until the next reboot?

After our Dell Inspiron E1505 recently crashed , Dell talked us thru diagnostics and finally sent us a replacement(refurbished) Toshiba hard drive to install in our computer. After installing it, and reloading all of the software for Windows XP, MS Office Small Business 2003, drivers and utilities, using the discs that came with the computer, we have a "Found New Hardware" window that pops up - Wizard trying to install a "Base System Device" everytime we turn the computer on. It asks for a disc but none of my existing ones seem to be the correct one. I've given it permission to connect to the Internet to "find" the software but nothing works. Also, since the crash/re-install, our C drive only has 12.4 GBs of total disc space, and of that, only 1.2 is still free space. My D drive has about 37 GBs of disc space. Could these two problems be connected? The computer was running so slow and we would periodically get a message "low virtual memory". This weekend, I moved as many of our documents as possible to the D drive to try and free up space. It's a little better, but why do I have such a small amount of disc space?

I've got the trojan.vundo virus. I have installed and run the vundo removal tool, and it shows me that it is gone-but when I restart my computer, Norton anti-virus finds it again (and again...and again).

i used a vundo fix and got rid of all of the vundo viruses but two would not go away.
i got error message : Error: 75. Path/File access error
The two files were :
c:WINDOWSsystem32jkkjk.dll
c:WINDOWSsystem32\kjkkj.ini
why these two vundos won't go away? They won't clean from my antivirus or quarantine either. They keep popping up in my system notifying me that they are there.

I get this trojan today and i never get viruses usually but this one reaqlly is annoying!
Ive looked at all the other posts and ive tried using the vundo fix tool etc but it does not pick it up at all. Ive tried doing it in safe mode and ive tried unistalling java to see if it was involved with that but nothing has worked so far.
I have located the file in my system32 folder and its named xxyywtq.dll but theres no way it will let me delete it as it says it is being used by another program or person.

Infected by the vundo/virtumonde virus
I have ran scans of spysweeper and max registry cleaner, and from what i understand the actual malware is gone. the problems is i have no icons/taskbar. ive tried running explorer.exe through the task manager, which gets the taskbar to flash fora couple seconds, but it disappears shortly after. ive tried running taskbar repair tool plus, but that doesnt help me much.
Here is it

Ive recently discovered that my computer is infected with many viruses, adware, spyware, etc . and am very worried. My main concern is this constant pop up (that looks like a windows pop-up balloon) that tells me my computer is infected and wants me to buy anti spy storm. Ive already run spybot, bitdefender and AVG anti spyware many times in normal and safe mode (i couldnt run bit defender in safe mode).

Ran into some virus fun,I think it is gone. I ran vundofix.exe; symantec's vundo fix; virtumonde fix from symantec; trojanhunter; hijackthis; winpatrol; spysweeper; (some in safe mode). And removed a BHO for winlogon.exe with the mljgd.dll. That doesn't exist anymore,

I have an infection that I haven't been able to rid on my own. I am receiving popups on the lower right claiming to be from the Windows Security Center with titles like:
Alert! You are receiving Spyware!
Warning! Your security and privacy are at risk!
The window has the name "Project1" in the task manager, and it has overridden my ability to end processes in the task manager.

I was checking out a website online when a window with the Microsoft Windows Security logo popped up indicating infection with several types of Trojans/viruses. I did not make a note of them but the boxes all had green check marks against the purported trojans/viruses. I believe it instructed me to download something Instead, I immediately shut down my pc, and ran Scans in Safe Mode and also did an online scan with Trendmicro housecall. All the scans showed 0 infections. I am therefore wondering what this was all about as the Security alert had the exact logo as the Microsoft Windows Security.
