Os windows XP professional .Internet explorer is not working properly.The internet explorer does not appear in the add & remove programs in control panel .How do I remove it and reinstall it.I tried repair it with downloads does not work out well.
View 3 RepliesI need to uninstall IE7 then reinstall it. The problem is that pesky German thing again. I don't know is I should save my stuff or just do a clean install and then have to reput in all my stuff. Which would be okay. The reason I don't want the uninstaller deal in 7 to save my stuff is because I am afraid that some of that will be in German then here we go again!! This whole thing is because I can't install the English version of Adobe Flash.

All went well and I was asked to uninstall Norton Internet Security before installing again to take "make it work again" in the new environment.I am trying to reinstall but for some reason, the NAV install window keeps telling me there is an existing copy of NAV that I have to remove before I can install again.I've searched through the normal areas but am having no luck. These include the Add/Remove facility, Windows Explorer, and the Search facility.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've used IE 7 with Windows XP for a long time and like it. The Microsoft web site suggested I download IE 8, so I clicked "okay." End result is that IE 8 did NOT download, IE 7 is still there, but my Internet is wicked slow in loading, I can't copy and paste from any web sites (right click doesn't work on web pages)...and I cannot see any of the toolbars or icons that used to be across the top on IE 7("my favorites," "copy," "print," and so on.) To fix this problem, I decided to uninstall and then reinstall IE 7, but got a warning on Add/Remove Programs saying: "You have installed a lot of stuff since you installed IE 7 and if you remove IE 7, some of that stuff may no longer work. Do you want to continue?"
I installed IE 7 provided by MySpace and I think its slow and would like to just download the original IE 7 without using MySpace.

As I have come to understand it, this is because IE is an integral part of the operating system (Windows XP Home Edition).I have also had no luck with my attempts to transfer it to a new hard drive I have installed on my ancient HP Kayak XM600. My old hard drive is down to 3% free space, so every kilobyte is critical!that I do not simply want to disable it, I need to free up space. View 7 Replies View RelatedSystem has been shutting down and restarting up on its own, it has done this three times, i looked back at anything new i have done recently and all the i can think of was i deleted Open Office, i received a error message saying if i delete it some programs may not operate correctly. Also i tried to delete Windows messenger Live in the the control panel under add remove windows components i deleted internet explorer by mistake and had to reinstall it. The last time it didn't shut down but i got a blue screen that said Windows has detected a software or hardware problem and has shut down to prevent damage,check any new hardware or software that have been recently installed, the error massage was " IRQL_NOT LESS_OR_ EQUAL. I am running IBM pentium 4 windows XP.

With 98 I created a startup diskette, wiped the HD, and then re-booted with the floppy and reinstalled 98.I've never done this before on XP. I have the DELL Reinstallation XP CD (Service Pack 1) and I have the 25 character Product ID stamped on the sides of the PC so that should be straightforward. I've backed up my son's files to CD. Do I need to create a startup floppy?

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy friends XP crashed so I leant them my recovery disc (my old pc had XP this one has vista), when the xp recovery disc didn't work for them, they used my Acer Vista one which has half or more loaded vista and stalled probably because the lap top is to old to handle it. Anyway there is a blue Acer loading screen doing nothing and the vista programs run behind it which makes it difficult to see what you're doing. They brought it around to me as I can use this pc to see what I'm doing and try and fix there's more or less by feel, if that makes sense. They tried reinstalling my xp disc but vista seems to super seed it and it wont take, which doesn't surprise me.

I recently installed Windows Live One Care on my computer. After installing it, I attempted to open it but had no success. An error message pops up and says "Windows Live One Care has encountered a problem and needs to close." It gives me the option to Send Error Report or to Not Send Error Report.
