I have had this stupid Trojan on my computer the past 2 days now. Every 2 Min's i get a pop-up from Norton anti-virus 2005 saying it found "Trojan elitebar" and that it cant delete or repair it as cant access it. I have run spybot and adware i even tried the elitebar remover but to no avail. I even tried LQfix even that didn't work.
I scan my system and IT giveS me Elitum.Elitebar which the "Fix Selected problem "dont seems to fix it in the sense that when you rescan (even without log-in to the internet) the spyware will appear again in the search result.
It is located in HKey _USERSs-1-5-21-softwareLQ
and when I go to the registry on the left pan its listed as Local-AppWizard-Generated Applications(LAGA) and LQ is a folder under (LAGA)When the LQ is high lighted,
I ran a scan on my PC using TREND MICRO housecall 6.5 and it found a virus that it can't delete. Here's what it found: TROJ_BRDUPDATE.D E6F1873B.DLL found in C:windowssystem32e6f1873B.dll How do i remove this from my PC?
After running Antivirus, I found I have a Trojan Horse virus. It cannot be deleted, quarantined, or cleaned. All attempts failed. I then put computer in safe mode and ran Norton, but virus didn't show. Cleaned out registry, still to no avail. What can I do to get rid of this virus?? Filename: oeiuxr.dll and it located in windowssystem32. Also had over 60 of the trojan.elitebar, but was able to clear all of them. This trojan horse is the only remaining. HELP!
I picked up a virus alert the other day trojan horse edmond and all the anti virus programs that I have run have been to no avail. I keep getting c:windowsisrvsedmond.exe. followed by the file will not let you in. It is getting to the stage that our current tech person is going to the extent of say that I am going to have to reformate my harddrive possibly loosing a great deal of information
I think my computer has a worm. I've been using A2 and Ad-aware to try to clean it up, unsuccessfully. It says it found trojan horses and eliminated them but they're always back. - My automatic updates are shut off, can't fix it. - My service Pack 2 disappeared, along with the firewall. - Sophos became disabled. - My CD drive is only recognized periodically
while running a scan with ad-aware it seemed to trigger an alert from norton antivirus(i know) that a virus had been detected, the ad-aware scan came up clean as did a spybot scan but im still left with the virus which is a trojan horse called c:/windows/system32/test3adll, now im not exactly sure what the best course of action should be, would i be right in entering the file details in the search bar of the start menu, making a floppy of the file just in case its needed for some other purpose, switching off system restore while i delete it and immediately switching system restore back on, any advice/help in dealing with this problem will be much appreciated
If you have moved your music around on your hard drives, Windows Media Player continues to add new entries into it's library instead of modifying the existing ones. This means that you will now have multiple entries for the same song, half of which will not work now because you have moved the files to their new location. To delete the current library and build a new one, do the following:1. Close Windows Media Player, wait about 3 seconds for the database to close.2. Using "My Computer", navigate to the following folder:F (or whatever drive is appropriate for you):Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataMicrosoftMedia Index3. Delete the "wmplibrary....db" file here. This is not your actual music, only the database which Windows Media Player uses as a listing.4. Start Windows Media Player5. Hit "F3" and enter the location where you have moved your music to. If it is on muliple drives, check "All Drives". Let it finish. You're Done! All the old listings will now be gone, and you will only have the new accurate ones.

I have windows xp, i have avg antivirus and have run the tests in pc pitstop and done a regular search thru windows for the Trojan-Dropper.VBS.Inor.cz but can't locate it on my pc. My IE browser freezes everytime i go to a particular site and yet when i ask if anyone else has trouble with that site only a very few people say yes. The solution they give me is to download Mozilla and use it for that site. That doesn't protect me from the trojan completely infecting me does it? Can anyone tell me how to delete this trojan?
I have just installed some anti virus software and during installation I got messages saying my registry had been damaged and i should log onto such-and-such site to download repair software and run it on my system. I am suspicious that if I do this I am exposing myself to total destruction. One of the messages has just popped up again and the site it directs me to is FixReg32.com.
Problems started was when i updated my Zone Alarm firewall, windows works absolutely fine no problems what so ever, then next time i reboot it does the same, this time problems are non-stop until about 10% then fine from there on in, then when it finishes repairing the drive it gets stuck at repairing unreadable security descriptions date stream.
It also said whilst recovering orphaned files insufficient disk space to recover lost files. It stopped for a while then carried on. After scan disk it restarted and wouldn't load windows, just got stuck on windows loading screen forever, eventually 15+ minutes i pressed reset as there was no disk activity.
I recently had a bad hard drive (It need the windows xp cd to boot) and saw that the problem was bad blocks. I decide to buy a new hard drive and use ghost to clone it. But, now i have the same problem with the new hard drive. After a while, i realize that obviously, if the disk was cloned, ONLY the information that can be copied was transfered to the other one.In conclusion, how can I resolve this issue without using system repair. the problem is that once i use this tool and then IE won't work. at last I had to format the drive.
I have a very large, corrupt disc image on my hard drive that I want to delete, but every time I try to delete it Windows displays the message "Cannot delete 'filename': it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." The disc image is not mounted with any program, and hasn't been for some time. I tried aborting random processes that I thought might have something to do with the file, as well as restarting. No matter what I do, there seems to be something using the file. Are there any tricks to getting around this so I can delete it? Can I check, somehow, to see what program is using it?
I was able to take it out with BART PE which I had to put into the cd drive and it would boot from the disk and it found the Trojan in the Windows Operating Boot File but when I deleated it I could not boot up after that! I tried to boot from safe mode and it would freeze after I would enter my password and then enter. I had to restore the computer from a back up file I had but it is currently restored with the TROJAN AGAIN!
I am running: XP PRO w/SP2 / NT PLATFORM 5.1 (BUILD 2600.XPSP_SP2_GDR.050301-1519) Workstation / NTFS / i386 /EXPLORER EXE AMD PROCCESSOR

Suddenly, norton popped up and it said that i have a trojan virus and aunable to repair. I forgot the address but it ended with "assistanthelper[1]" Im not sure though.
I've got the trojan.vundo virus. I have installed and run the vundo removal tool, and it shows me that it is gone-but when I restart my computer, Norton anti-virus finds it again (and again...and again).
PC is infected with this Trojan. I've downloaded xsoftspy and performed a full scan. It appears to remove the offending files but it still comes back.
When it does it tries to load up various internet sites telling me to download software.you advise running fixware. I've tried this and this is the result.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun] "MSMSGS"=""C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background" "ctfmon.exe"="C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe" .... Hosts file was reset, If you use a custom hosts file please replace it... ~~~~~ End report ~~~~~
Recently, my laptop was attacked by a trojan called update.exe. i think i got it from an open network in a hotel. I have tried many things to try to get rid of it, ive ran all the spyware programs i have and ive gone into my hard drive and tried to delete it manually as well. nothing works to get rid of it. does anybody know how i could get rid of update.exe?
I am running windows XP and counterspy has picked up a FTP Attack Trojan. I quarantined then deleted it but it keeps coming back. I also tried a porgram called Swatit but that did not find anything wrong. My computer has started acting improperly.rejecting games etc.
I have a DLL in my windows/system32 folder. I have used a tool to see what processes are running and what they are associated with. It is asscoiated with explorer.exe as you can see that in the process checking tool. I have done some analysis on dlo1BC.dll and it appears it is virus, but I cant delete it, no matter what I try. When I shut down the conputer explorer wont shut down smoothly and I think this is because of the dlo1BC.dll associated with it in the processes.
I get this trojan today and i never get viruses usually but this one reaqlly is annoying!
Ive looked at all the other posts and ive tried using the vundo fix tool etc but it does not pick it up at all. Ive tried doing it in safe mode and ive tried unistalling java to see if it was involved with that but nothing has worked so far.
I have located the file in my system32 folder and its named xxyywtq.dll but theres no way it will let me delete it as it says it is being used by another program or person.
I have a problem with my PC. A few days ago I received a URL in MSN messenger that infected me with a trojan horse when I entered the site.
Since then, AVG antivirus has popped up every time I startup my computer and has told me "threat detected - trojan horse downloader." I proceed to heal the file, yet next time I start up the same thing happens. The file name is simply "installer.exe". Immediately after this, my internet explorer opens and opens "web.links4all.biz",which I believe re-infects me. Since then, I have worked with my PC for a few days, with the intention of coming on here and sorting out the problem when I get the chance, unfortunately, the problem has escalated.
During my usual practice, AVG popped up saying "threat detected" once again. This time, the problem was "Trojan horse flooder." I told it to heal the file, it said it was healed, but told me I had to restart my computer for the process to complete.I restarted my computer, but after the first windows loading screen, the system shuts off and automatically reboots, until it reaches this point where the same thing happens.
I've tried using safe mode, and nothing has changed, it still enters the cycle of restarting continually.
I have Windows xp. If I have a Trojan Horse on my pc, is it safe still to use it? or should I wait till I can get the TH off of here? What exactly will it do to my machine?
Recently my AVG has popped up saying that i have recieved a Trojan. Also the computer and internet seem to be alot slower and the computer wont actually turn it off, it will only go into standby.
