I have only had the problem since i completely formatted my hard disk and re-installed XP home, I have looked around the XP disk and i can't find any folder 2 do with drivers. In device manager under other devices it says: multimedia audio controller with a yellow ,as well as Video controller also having the yellow.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI began to install latest drivers wireless net, AGP Card (then reboot). I installed the latest ones for my nForce2 board and restarted. Only for XP to hang during startup. Numerous cold-restarts, still hanging So I tried each Safe Mode, Last Known Good Config etc, to no avail. During safe mode it would display the driver files it was loading, the last two (from memory) were nv_agp.sys(nvidia?) then mup.sys when it hanged. So I then tried repairing/reinstalling XP numerous times, and each time it would run fine till mb drivers were installed, with and without SP2. Same problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a second hand computer. It originally had vista ultimate installed but i was experiencing system freezes during computer game play on games that aren't too high end. I guessed that it might have been an incompatible driver after having read on the internet about the problems people were having with vista/64Bit compatibility.
View 8 Replies View Relatedthe Windows Installer screen opens telling me it is trying to install a program that is already installed,(usually driver for HP 4110 printer drivers). If I don't cancel it immediately, eventually an error screen appears telling me the file I'm seeking is not available and to insert the installation CD. I've tried re-installing the drivers by inserting the CD, but then an error message appears saying the drivers are already installed. This is getting frustrating?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had this program downloaded but never installed for quite a long time already....I asked a friend of mine the other day to use the program to back up her computer drivers using it so we could determine how exactly it works, and if the results were what I hoped for, she could then burn the folder to a cd. The reason I had her do this was because she had put in a new harddrive that I had already installed windows to for her on my system, which meant that it was configured for my own hardware and not hers by the time she got the drive in the mail from me, and once installed, no amount of playing with the drivers including new downloads would work. So I had her hook up her still available old drive, run this program and burn the files to a cd so once the new drive was hooked back up again, those drivers could be used since they worked fine on the old drive.
I was massively impressed with the outcome and saw the real potential for having all working drivers available for any new installations for anybody in that kind of situation of having to format the drive and starting over....
My C:/ folder just pops up when I log onto my user for no aparent reason.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhenever I start my computer up, the C:WINDOWSsystem32 folder opens up.. everytime! I have looked at several forums to try to fix my problem, and I have tried the fix at this website: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line 260) and this is the message that came up:"the script cannot repair your issue. The expected Registry value was not found."I have no idea what to do.. I read on one forum that the guy had to basically clean off his hard drive and re install it! I REALLY don't want to have to go through that.. especially since I'm a college student, and finals are coming up.. the last thing I need is to be without my own computer. I have searched on this site for forums pertaining to this subject, but I haven't found any.

I tried to move it back; but, Widows gave me an error box that said it was a System folder and could not be moved. I tried renaming it, deleting it, nothing worked. I made a new Startup folder (like a dummy) and then used an OS that boots from a CD to delete it.

He has an intel Motherboard, and Pentium 4 3.0. I checked first the startup folder, nothing there that I could see would access that folded. I then ran msconfig just to see if anything else was showing that directory. Still nothing. Then I download some startup manager from download.com (I cant remember the exact name of it) but it showed me the same thing I had seen before, and nothing that pointed to the Intel directory. (Some pointed to the intel Audio directory, but that directory exists).I do know after I ran msconfig I went into safe mode and the directory didnt start up. But when I booted back into Windows XP Pro again it showed up?Anybody know what else I can do? I wonder if I change the name of the directory, wouldnt that throw an error and maybe I can figure out what it trying to access it?

I would like to check to see what programs automatically open in the background when I boot and perhaps relocate or get rid of some of those. But, once I locate the list of startup programs, I imagine things could get more complicated.Equipment: HP Pavilion, Media Center Edition, (a1606n) Version 2002,Service Pack 2.
