Removing Far-east Keyboards

Jul 8, 2005

I have a problem with keyboards on WinXP (SP2). I have English, Slovene, and Sanskrit installed. Somehow, I don't remember exactly how, four far-east keyboards also installed themselves: Chinese, Taiwan, Japanese, Korean. I would like to remove them, but if I do that, after some time, they install themselves again.

Ps2 Keyboards Won't Work.

May 8, 2006

One of my machines (running xphome, sp2 and all updates) will not install the keyboard. This has only happened today. I have tried other ps2 keyboards with the same result. I keep getting 'code 39' error on boot up, that says it cannot install drivers for keyboard. It works okay on start up to let me in to CMOS, and I can F8 to get into safe mode. However, in safe mode keyboard still not working. I have tried uninstalling and letting windows reinstall on bootup, but just get 'code 39' again. Did a system restore which didn't work either.

Keyboards Is Not Working Properly

Apr 6, 2009

Operating System System Model Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600) Dell Inc. Dimension 4700. I have a Microsoft Reclusa Keyboard that I bought December 26, 2008. Every time I press a g, the keyboard also adds a b. When I press the b it adds the g. This messes me up when I try to enter some passwords. Yesterday I unplugged it, took it outside and shook any dirt out, then I used compressed gas duster on it and let it dry well, but still doing it.

New Keyboards Can't Control Volume

Jul 6, 2005

Situation: Had MS Natural Keyboard Pro PS2 with the media keys working just fine. Problem... it's a white keyboard and all my stuff is now black or silver. Okay, get a new keyboard, MS Wireless Natural Keyboard. Uninstalled and reinstalled old/new software. ONly problem, the new keyboard can't control volume up/down. It can mute/unmute and all other special keys work.

where the link is that ties those keys in to the main volume control in registery. Here's something interesting: If I plug the old PS2 keyboard in, no drivers, XP recoginizes and all media keys work fine on it including volume. If I keep both keyboards installed simultaneously they both work fine and control everything EXCEPT the new one can't raise/lower the volume, just mute.

Dual Keyboards Are Not Working Properly..

May 30, 2007

.I would like to hook up two keyboards, to work independently of each other.

Due to the fact that I like to be speed productive, I love quick keys, and hotkeys and any type of key you can think of.

Now, when I place a second keyboard on my computer, it acts like the first. This is not the output I wanted.

Computer Doesn't Like Keyboards Or Mice

Jun 24, 2005

At random occasions, my mouse will get all jumpy on me. Another way to describe it would be laggy - the pointer is laggy. I can drag the pointer across the desktop and it'll get 'stuck' a few times. Sometimes it even gets stuck for 10-30 seconds. Sometimes although very, very rarely it gets stuck and won't move until I reboot. Logging out of Windows and changing users or something like that doesn't help. I have to shutdown or reboot.

And sometimes the computer will beep when the mouse is getting stuck. The beep isn't coming from my speakers, but from the motherboard (?). The mouse is clean, I'm sure of that. It has also been taken care of, so I don't understand why it would start failing on me. And the other bizarre thing is that.. sometimes the mouse will work okay for two straight days, but then it'll start to screw up, and stay a little jumpy even after a reboot, such as right now.

Removing Ad Pop-up

Mar 14, 2007

For the past week, I have been geting this pop-up every so often I use IE7. Some Asian site http://www.100x10000.com/cai_union.html keeps opening every time I start IE or it sometimes opens when I go to another site. I'm using XP and IE7, I don't want suggestions on using other browsers, just need someone to help me remove it. I had a similar thing a long time ago, and I searched it on google and found the solutions right away. I can't find anything on that ad, but I'm pretty sure I can solve it the same way, but I don't remember what file I deleted the first time to get rid of the other add pop-up.

Need Help Removing Spyware

Sep 9, 2005

I have a computer that runs windows xp pro, service pack 1. I was having trouble with freezing and a whole lot of pop ups, I started a virus scan with anti vir and it deleted a whole bunch of trojan horses, but didn't find any viruses. I installed the free version of AdAware and every time I try to run a scan, it starts ok but after a few minitues it has found about 20 critical objects when it just turns off by itself. I have restarted it several times and it does the same thing. I have downloaded spyware doctor and spybot, but every time I try to install them, it tells me that a dll or some other thing like a scripter cannot install. Can someone tell me why AdAware is quiting by itself and why spybot and spyware doctor cannot be installed.

Removing All Traces Of An User ?

Jul 28, 2005

Anyone know a good method of purging an XP pc of a user, like when a machine is sold and the new user wants all traces of the old user removed?

I thought I had a reasonably good method, which was to create a new user account, remove the default files from it's folder in Documents and Settings, copy most of the contents of the original user's folder into it, then delete the original user.

This method isn't too bad, and removes most of the obvious traces of the original owner, while leaving all the desktop and Windows settings intact.

But a scan with RegSeeker (incidentally, this is a damn good free app for finding and deleting multiple registry entries) revealed 85 instances of the old user name still in the Registry, so my method isn't 100% effective

On Removing The Virus - Xp Theme Is Gone

cant get the xp theme back on my system after removing a virus and using the restore feature on my xp cd. I did notice that my theme changed to the windows classic style while dealing with the virus. The virus changed my theme to classic and added a webpage as my background picture so I think that was the cause. What should I do to fix this problem of not being able to change my theme to xp.

Ps. The theme is available but when I choose it all it does is it changes my background picture and colors but my buttons and windows stay classic.
