Web sites I'm trying to enter partially appear, but, I can't enter as I get little boxes with a red X in the middle. I've already looked to make sure the "show pic" is checked under advanced multimedia and it is. I really need this fixed ASAP.
View 7 RepliesSo I'm having a bit of a nightmare trying to get my copy of XP to boot.Every thing was working fine and then I tried to make a back up image of my drive using Norton Ghost 2003. I have a 200Gb Wester Digital SATA drive and an Asus A8n-SLI mobo. I think that there might have been some problem with the nVidia IDE/SATA drivers as ghost crashed half way thorugh the image making process. Now when I try to boot I get a "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

Toshiba A105-S4134 XP SP2 MCE 2005 Intel T2400 Duo Core 2 GB RAM1. Two days ago I had a glitch - a bunch of browser windows were open and the system just sort of froze up. I ended up doing a hard restart. The PC then took a longer than normal time to boot back up.2. That made me nervous, so yesterday I made True Image images of both partitions on the HD, that is C: (OS and apps) and D: (data).3. This morning I decided to run a memory diagnostic disk (I had memtest86+ and Windows Diagnostics CDs on hand). I set boot priority to CD/DVD ROM using Start > All Programs > Toshiba > Utilities > Toshiba Assist > Optimize > Toshiba Hardware Settings

View 11 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my other computer i dont understand it alot but when it comes to a Disk Boot Failur, enter system disk and press enter i usually just shutdown computer plug out the wait around 5-10mins but for this time it has really driven me up the wall. at the moment now it hasnt worked and im asking for help here are some of the things i did... like i said before jst left it and wait... putting OS disk in and try to repair didnt work... try to reinstall didnt work it said it cant OS system something like that... changing my boot system to have HDD first and than CD-ROM than floppy (yes i do have a floppy drive).. but one thing it had told me Win XP when i first tried to repair it it said you have to quite when it count down on when to reboot it said if you have a floopy disk unplug it out and i did it and still not working.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks I've had a problem logging off from one user id and then on to another (not just switching users).When I log off from the first user id the normal XP login screen is displayed but when I click onto the password box for the new user the cursur doesn't appear in that box and I can't enter the password. If I select a user id that doesn't have a password then I can log on as them, the problem is only with user ids with passwords. Restarting XP then allows me to log on to any user id as normal.

I ran the wireless set up wizard from the control panel put my flash drive in the usb port, took my flash drive out of the desktop usb port hub, put it into my laptop, installed. i put the flash drive back into the USB port hub at the desk top and nothing happened - the mouse wouldn't move and no keyboard, so I hit restart.....

But last night I could and I thought the server was down(it goes down sometimes). So I went on windows messenger, and people who play the game says it was working. So now I know its only me. When I type in www.hyperiums.com it leads to the usual "this page can not be displayed" page. Anyone know how I can fix it?

It will not allow any activity ,only the background shows up. and I've lost the sound on you tube, and the video doesn't show up.I can see the videos but I can only read the captions along the side.

It is a video site where I am able to see the videos I can choose from, but as soon as I try to log on, I get the error. I was using IE 8, but switched to 7 because I thought that was my problem. I tried deleting cookies but that didn't work either. Help!

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere is a website I use at work that is a State Government database. The site will start to load but it stops. On the left side would be a menu that would load normally that is Java. It does not load so the database is unavailable. The site tells you to disable pop up blockers which i have. I had norton on the computer a while back and the only way i could get into this website then was to disable Norton. This current problem started when I loaded the AOL Security. Even with AOL security and all firewalls disabled still can not access the site. So i removed AOL security and loaded AVG and Zone Alarm in its place. Still can not get into the site with those disabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to access www.bankofamerica.com. Seems all other website are fine. I know it is working because I can access it through my laptop that is connected through the same router and modem. Here is how my network is set up:
-I have DSL with a static IP (I've tried using from the 5 available and none work).
-For a router I use a Sonicwall TZ 170 that is assigned one of the static IP's from the 5 available.
-I use a Linksys WRt54G wireless router as a wireless access point with DHCP turned off (my desktop is connected straight to the Sonicwall).
The only glimmer of light that I have seen is Anonymizer (www.anonymizer.com). I downloaded the trial and when it is running I can access www.bankofamerica.com. When I check my IP at www.ipchicken.com it reports another IP other than my static IP which is what the Anonymizer does, but I don't understand why I would be able to access the site. My static IP can't have been blocked because I can access the BoA site using the laptop and the static IP.
I try to go to Roadrunner's speed test and all I get is Red Xs. My main PC gets the site correctly. This started when I upgraded to ZA Ver. 6, so I uninstalled V 6 and went abck to ver. 5. It appears that all settings in ZA are the same for both PCs but only one shows the site properly.?

However, tonight I am unable to do so on my desktop computer. I keep getting page not found. I also have a laptop and the site does show up there. My server is AOL and I have a Windows XP computer. My gut tells me when my desktop updated, perhaps my work site became blocked somehow by the firewall? I have no idea how to ublock it if that is the case.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter resolving an issue resulting from a printer installation, I was able to get my computer back to a state of normalcy, except that the CD drives were no longer found by the system.This is a Win 2K and there is a DVD-ROM and a CD-RW.So rather than do the smart thing and reinstall them via the OEM CDs, I went into the Bios and tried to tell the Bios that they were the Secondary Master and Slave drives (duh).So now, the system hangs, telling me that the primary slave auto detect wasn't finding anything. (Even though I didn't address that when I screwed with it.)I cannot even enter the BIOS setup, since the hangup occurs before the system even gets to that point.If I can get back to BIOS setup, I can at least reset to defaults, then figure out how to do the right thing, but for now, I'm STUCK.It's an MSI KT3 Ultra Mother board If more info is needed I can probably get it, but wanted to keep the initial post short.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi am working on a friends computer .she installed a program and all was ok after that . she turned off the computer and went on holiday for a week . came back started the computer and received an error message
"Windows cannot start " if windows doesnt start normally . windows will restart " a mesage similiar tothis ..and she receives the same message everytime .. ( she isnt available ATM for me to get hte exact error msg ) i have tried to get into safe mode to remove this program . but safe mode isnt available . i have tried F5 on start up . and safe mode isnt in the options ..& the same with F8 no option to enter windows in safe mode . what would anyone suggest to try next ?
On starting up my PC I am unable to get past the initial BIOS readout it gets as far as 'Mouse Initialized' and then freezes. Pressing F8 does not work nor following the displayed message 'Press F2 to enter SETUP'
