I cleaned up a lot of junk software last nite. Today, I launched Photoshop CS2 and got a popup message that photoshop.exe can not find UxTheme.dll in Cprogram filesadobe photophopcs2. It also listed other adobe programs as well as movie factory and several others. It also listed the winnt folder and the system folder as places it looked for this dll. Is it possible I removed it when I was removing other programs by mistake. Is there a way to put it back? I'm running Windows 2000 Professional on a AMD 2400 processor. BTW, photoshop runs fine after I acknowlege the popup.
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X and I've instaled Windows XP with Bootcamp. I tend to run more often on XP than Mac OS X, I tryed looking for some new themes for XP and installed "UXTheme Multi-Patcher 5.0.exe" and copyed across a few new themes wich I liked. they all worked fine till I restarted the system. An error message apears saying that it cant locate the file "UXThemes.dll" so all i see in windows now is my wallpaper with no startup menu, the keyboard and mouse's right and left clik do not respond at all. I have tryed puting in the Windows instal CD but it wont even read the CD/DVD drive all is there is the wallpaper background.
i recently patched my uxtheme.dll in order to use third party themes. Today, i got a blue screen of death. Thank god a restart appears to have fixed it. My question is, could this patch cause the proble? and is there a way to unpatch my uxtheme.dll
I've been reading that Photoshop is being written for 64 bit. In view of what I've read about Vista will I be better off installing XP 64. I currently use XP 32 with no problems.
I searched through the forums for any sign of something that matched my problem, but found none. So here it is...I go to install photoshop and I click the setup.exe and a window pops up saying Loading InstallShield. It gets to 99% then stops and the window vanishes. I've tried from the hard drive as well, but the same thing happens. No errors or anything...just vanishes.I use Windows XP Professional version 2002 Service Pack 2.If anyone has any ideas for how to get it to work I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
Recently I tried to open up Photoshop CS2 like I do all the time, and it said I do not have permission to access this program.I am the only one who uses my computer, with no guest accounts active.I also noticed I can't even select to shut down computer from the Start button. I have to log out first, and then shut down from there.I did a virus sweep and found 3 Trojans, which have now been deleted. I also created another User account as an administrator, but I still get permission problems.
The following link says that:Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not a time-limited or Please note: Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not a time-limited or Learn about the key features in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0.http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopalbum/starter.html But in my book it is I had it for 15 days, then it wants me to register which it will not allow me to do without some kind of code number which I don't have unless I purchase it.The only way to get the registration window to close is to reboot my computer?
I uploaded my pictures. They are no longer on my camera, but I can see them on my computer screen as thumbnails. They are not in the location given. The screen that the thumbnails are on has the option of 1. Get photos,2. Save, with file location listed. BUT it wont allow me to save. At the bottom the only two options are Get photos and Cancel. How can I save my pictures?
When she loads Adobe photoshop V7 and tries to open an image file, as you scroll down the dialogue box which contains a thumbnail list of the images she gets a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library popup window which says Runtime error! Program c:program Files .....Photoshop.exe abnormal programme termination.I have run Nortin System works and had it fix all the errors it found. I have also run RegistryFix and had it fix all the errors it found. Problem still there.
The error is "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive." There is no drive specified at the end of the sentence. There is an extra space (where maybe the drive is supposed to go) and then the period. I've tried a system restore to a date before I loaded a new photoshop program with no success. I see the others have run a program called "HijackThis v1.99.1" == then copied that log into the post. I've never used that program -- where can I find it and then what do I do so I can give you better information.
1) This computer has trouble running Photoshop. I bought it specifically for graphics programs (Being a gaming laptop I thought it would be capable) I did my final year of high school, hardly using Photoshop at all (But it worked all the same) and then as I finished high school and the warranty expired it stopped. What happens: I open Photoshop, it opens fine. I try to create a new file or open one and nothing happens. Sometimes if I'm lucky and I repetitively open a file it will open, but when I attempt to draw the line will delete itself. I have heard of Wireless adapters and Printers interfering with it, but that seems to not be the case. I have formatted twice and still no fix. I thought this was just a general Photoshop problem, I installed the trial, a legit version of PS7, a cracked version of CS2 and CS3, and still nothing (Don't worry, I deleted all photoshop files in between installs)Now Zbrush won't open, Corel Painter has trouble and Paintshop pro is also having problems. This computer hates me! I also have other problems: My computer has never been able to drag and drop. I have installed the registry entries for it, checked my start panel options, upgraded mouse drivers, bought at least 3 mice and still nothing. I can drag and drop on some programs such as RocketDock, but never on the desktop or within folders. When I start up the computer everything freezes and all popups close when I click on them automatically until I click the FN key. Sometimes when I'm talking on MSN or a similar program the window will just close without warning and I can't open any file until I click the FN key. Every now and then I get a BSOD with a Kernal inscreen error from Atapi.sys - Even after formatting twice I've tried everything. I have upgraded drivers (All of them as far as I know, even updated the Bios last time) formatted, searched for hours online, contacted Asus (They told me to contact Adobe who told me to contact Asus). This computer was surely a waste of $2000.
I was tooling around Abode Photoshop, when suddenly my computer stopped responding to left-clicks, so I was stuck inside the program.I tried hitting ctrl alt delete but I couldn't force Photoshop to end because my computer wouldn't respond to left clicks. So I hit the reset button and when my computer booted up, nothing would respond to left clicks.Right clicks worked, however.I tried a bunch of stuff, like uninstalling Photoshop and using a system restore, but nothing worked. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, my left-clicking ability returned.
When initiating Adobe Photoshop, this error message appears, and after I click okay it continues to load and I'm able to use it with no problem. My thinking is that it might be a plug in, however, if it's some sort of file generated from Windows XP,
Recently, I tried to open a very large file into Photoshop. It froze, and my computer crashed, so I restarted it by turning off and on the power. When it started up, it was normal, but it got to that screen that tells you that it was shut down incorrectly, and asks if you want to go into safe mode, normal mode, last good configuration, etc. When I go into normal mode (or last good configuration), it gets to the Windows Startup screen (flag w/ green bars moving below), but then the computer just restarts itself.
i opened photshop today and found out there was a problem with licencing or something so i unistalled using control panel and thought i should just download the latest to see how good it is installed cs4 extended all when smoothly but got one measly error at the end: English Language Pack Error: Error 2 so i unistalled AGAIN and reinstalled still same error there is nothing on my computer stopping it i checked all the processers.
I downloaded a trail version of "Photoshop Elements 6.0" I also downloaded a program that said it would unlock the trail. I knew better, but DL'd anyway. I opened it and now I'm royally screwed.
I went into safe mode and did a virus scan. It detected 3 viruses and quar' them. I tried to do a Sys' Restore however the only date/time it has is the date/time when the problems started
recently we had power failure and when I turned my computer back on, my bios came up.I tryed to exit out but some how disconnected or turned off my second hard drive and can not get it to go in the active state again, how do I check for the missing letter E that the drive is on orfind access to this drive
I removed Norton and downloaded Avira Free and ran a scan. It found two files in Doc.and settings that are now in Quarantine. They are I think FP's. One was IEhome.vbs and the other is IEenablecookie.vbs. I tried Googleing them but didn't find anything. Are they OK?
I am having trouble opening certain software, keep getting the message "cannot find shell.dll" I've tried to download this file off the internet but it doesn't seem to work. The programs I have trouble with are quickbooks and corel.
You guys are my last hope. This forum looks very active, so hopefully someone knowledgable will know how to fix my problem.I'm running Windows XP and very recently installed SP2. Here are some sys specs:P4 1.5ghz, gf2 64mb Pro video card.Suddenly about a day ago, different colored blocks would randomly appear on my screen (usually pink). I thought nothing of it, but it kept getting worse. I turned on my computer one day, and my LCD monitor kept flickering. I rebooted, then it loaded windows, then my monitor kept going to power save mode, then showed the screen, etc. I rebooted again, and my screen was stuck at the black loading screen that says "Win XP Pro" with the animation (except everything was weird colors and I could tell by the sounds and such that my computer loaded windows). Rebooted again, and my monitor said "refresh rate out of range". I set my refresh rate to 60, but nothing. Now, random pixels on my screen are red/pink/different colors at random times. When I move my mouse or a window around, random pixels change colors.
When I try to install Windows XP, it goes through the setup files (blue screen) like it's going to install and then I get a message that says "Setup Cannot Find CD-ROM Drive" blah blah blah. "Setup Cannot Continue". At this point it says to press F3 to reboot. So I remove the XP Disc and reboot. It then gives me an option of picking which system to log onto out of 3: Win Xp Media Center Edition, Win XP Media Center Edition again, or Windows XP Professional (which I've never had by the way. I have to choose the first one and it will go back to my computer. My computer has been having a lot of problems, so I just want to do a fresh install of XP and start over. I don't care if I lose anything
I had virus in my computer, finally I get ride of them...but now when I start my computer this message pups up "windows can not find C:windowssystem32printer.exe
I have a hard drive which was part of a dual drive dual boot system. Windows XP and linux.
However now that I have removed the Linux drive from my computer and no longer have access to it when I try to boot my XP drive I recieve a GRUB Hard Drive Error.
I asume that my MBR is trying to find the second drive and loading properly but I am not sure how to fix it.
my system is recently formatted. so when ever i delete some thing i guess it should be going to recyle bin. but to my surprise the short cut for that is missing on the desktop. how to find where my recyle bin would be.
