I'm tired of my Logitech keyboard which always turns off the standard "F" keys and defaults to proprietary functions. I've already tried the "pass through" option, but it doesn't work in all cases so what would you recommend? Does anyone make a multimedia keyboard like the Logitech Navigator that has standard F-keys? I want a wired keyboard with a standard PS2 plug so I can get into my BIOS settings when necessary.

The only way I know is to se Print screen button and paste that on the Word document, but that is time consuming. I am wondering if this is possible somehow with some kind of trace on ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering about something thats been bugging me for a bit? What are the extra keys on the keyboard for, or more to the point how does one configure them. The KB I use right now only has three extra keys, a sun, a moon, and another(?) I think for power, or stand bye?? But my sisters KB has mega, hers is a MSN 'netboard'. Is there somewhere I can learn how to utilize the extra keys. When I press any of them now they don't do anything?? Help is appreciated, but this is not a pressing,(pretty punny eh), matter, so please help those who really have a problem first! This is just something I have always wanted to know?? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one?? My mouse and keyboard are EXTREMELY slow to respond, if they do at all. It's almost like some program is running and just taking all the system resources up.When I log in using Safe Mode - everything works just fine, which tells me it's not a driver issue.

"c" will print "-", n will be 7, ";" will be the "page up" key etc. I've reinstalled the keyboard drivers but no success. language/region settings are US as always. no idea why it's suddenly scrambled. keyboard is microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard 1.0A. batteries are fine. I inadvertantly switched on sticky keys. I have since switched it off but my backspace, arrow keys and Fn keys no longer work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a friends PC, a gateway P4 2.6, winxp home. The mouse and keyboard up and died. He had a kvm switch, the electronic kind when it stopped functioning. I have tried usb, ps2 everything. The keyboard works on bootup, so I can get into bios etc... but when it gets to the windows screen, nothing. No mouse or keyboard. Safe mode is the same thing. Dont want to format and reinstall windows. On that note, I did try a repair, when it asks for admin password it wont accept it. Says invalid admin password.. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just finished assembling my new build. It boots and I can get to the BIOS. I even have it booting from the DVD drive so I can load Win XP.However, when I get to the Windows Setup and it asks me if I want to setup windows(press enter), Repair(some other key), quit(F3) my keyboard won't work. I hit "Enter" because I want to install XP and nothing happens. It is not responding to my keyboard strokes.
This is strange because the keyboard works in the BIOS.
My friends keyboard is not working. When she turns the computer on no lights come up on the keyboard. Have tried another keyboard and still the same. Unable to get into the computer to check bios etc as there is a password on the account.

keyboard is messed up.
When I try to type something involving keys like M J K L U I O
numbers are showing.
I noticed that under those keys are little numbers.
M=0
J=1
K=2
L=3
U=4
I=5
O=6
Also when i try to use shift + one of those keys nothing happens.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFirefox stopped working after the latest update and reinstalling latest and previous versions doesn't repair.Using the control panel I uninstalled again. A utility program says I have some 80 entries in Registry with "Mozilla." FF is my one and only Mozilla product so I'm guessing something in one of the80 is the problem. The utility, JV16PT, will erase them. Is this safe? I will reinstall FF and let it make new, and hopefully good entries.

I have to reinstall my XP Pro OS on my work PC. The XP CD for that is fairly old and only has SP1. I recently got a laptop with XP Pro SP2. Can I Install the OS using the laptop XP CD that has SP2 and type in the product Key for the older XP machine so I don't have to spend hours updating the SP1 install to SP2. I've done this with MS Office in the past when the silver coating on the CD got scraped off and I just installed with an Office CD from another machine and used the Product Key from the broken CD license. These are DELL machines if that makes any difference. The last time I reinstalled the laptop OS using the CD, I can't remember typing in the product key and I don't want to have any issues with licensing and activation.

It affects the explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe files.This is the key that needs to be deleted.
