Every time I open a new IE window it doesn't load for 10 mins or so. Once it's loaded my internet works fine. I've ran AVG and found nothing, if there's anything else I can do or have overlooked.
when I boot up I just get a blank screen. The Start menu has disappeared and all the icons on my desktop have gone away as well as the taskbar and the clock at the bottom of the screen. How do I get them back? I'm using XP and just downloaded the latest updates (six of which didn't work). Not sure if the latter had anything to do with it. I've tried starting explorer using ctrl-alt-delete then running explorer, but it still doesn't work as normal. A reboot doesn't work either.
I got a new motherboard installed because my old one fried itself and the pc was reformatted and windows was reinstalled. Since then, it was working fine. The start-up time had also lowered considerably and it was working perfectly for once. One thing that's been happening for a while, my computer started taking longer to start-up. I figured it was just all the programs etc I have installed. Then, I have this one external drive that I got connected internally. There were times where it wouldn't recognize this drive; it wouldn't show up on My Computer. Otherwise, it was perfectly fine. one of my most important drives (E) has been missing for the last 2 days. it hasn't shown up even once and i'm really worried i've lost data and need to recover it.
When I use Juno on my HP it stops responding while loading its homepage. I can end the program now. Click on Internet Explorer and continue in the Internet. But then come the problem. About a half hour after I close the Internet Explorer. My machine freezes. I pull the plug plug it back in and it boots up like nothing happens. I have a dual boot on this machine. Just put in Linspire about two weeks ago because of this problem. Juno works fine under Linspire. So I know it is not Juno nor HP so it has to be with Windows XP.
My IE7's been running really slow starting this past week. I don't know what the cause is exactly. I can't figure out if it's the IE software on the PC or if it has something to do with the internet connection. I've run the following to diagnose my problem: NAV 2007 - No Viruses Webroos SpySweeper - No Spyware Optonline speedcheck Utility (when I can get it to run) - the results are very good 13-15mbps down and ~1.5mbps up. I would've posted this last night, but I couldn't get the page to load and even the optonline homepage sometimes wouldn't load. Also, I've noticed that images aren't loading onto the web pages. Just getting a box with an "x" in it. Don't remember if that is an IE security setting that i just need to allow or a an invasion to my system. I reset the IE7 settings to clear anything within IE, but that just made me lose my settings and IE still ran slow and inconsistently. I've checkd the ADD/Remove list and the list of folders within the program files folder and I've found nothing bad has been installed on the sly. Not really sure if this is a problem with optonline's signal or if I've gotten something on my PC that just isn't getting found by NAV and spysweeper. I'm trying to hold off on restoring my system image file, but if I must. I'd like totry to diagnose this if I can.
when I went to turn on my computer it will only load to my wallpaper. No icons, nothing but the wallpaper. I get a message telling me that IE has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have tried system restore and tried to reinstall windows but it will not even load the restore disk. All the user accounts on the computer are doing the same thing.
My HP Laptop is about 4 years old, but still works great... until a few days ago. When i start it up, the loading screen comes up and finishes. Then it goes black, and stays black. I CAN however boot in safe mode (not safe mode with networking tough), and it works fine. I am also having problems finding my CD, but have the License Code. So a No-CD Answer would be wonderful
i have windows xp professional operating system my internet explorer has been corrupt it does not open i want to know that i how can i install internet explorer from my windows XP CD if it is possible
Almost every single time I boot up, Windows doesn't log in correctly (explorer.exe I believe), none of my taskbar icons appear and the mouse cursor just keeps spinning when moved over it. I have to log-off using the task manager then re-log in, upon which Windows logs in normally and everything starts normally.

I have two pc laptops on one everything is great, in color and you can view everything as you would expect ie tab options and backgrounds. on the second (compaq presario 2200 laptop windows xp home) you cannot see tab options and internet page backgrounds, borders, tabs are all white and the text is in back or white text boxes (colour is also shown on the pages) i have tried to show axtive x etc and i do not have anything like norton oporating. i have been through nearly every setting but cannot work out why my laptop is veiwing its display like this and how to ammend it.
I want to upgrade from ME to XP. I ran the upgrade Advisor for XP and have found a few issues I may need to address. The main issue for me is the internet.
If someone could take a look at these results and tell me what will happen? I'm not sure and don't want to crash anything or not be able to connect to the internet. Setup found hardware or software on your computer that might not or will not work with Windows XP. You should read and understand this upgrade report before continuing.........
For few weeks internet hasn't been working properly. It has slow upload rate and webpages and games are unplayable because of the lag. How can I figure out what is causing this? I called the Rogers HiSpeed and they reset my connection but it didn't help the problem. I have Rogers HiSpeed and WindowsXP Media Center.
I have posted the message below to the Microsoft Windows Xp email help service. I have decided to post a copy here as well so that there is more chance someone who reads it may be able to find me a solution.
I use Windows XP with SP3 installed and when I turn on my computer and it gets to the log in screen it doesn't show the regular long in for XP but the clasic one. Also when I get into my profile (or anyone else for that matter) it says the following. "Explorer.EXE - Application error. The Application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d)." All the other sites I went to say to open up the task manenger but when I go to do that it says.
Right after my computer is finishes booting, suddenly there's a prompt telling me that Internet Explorer wants to change my Internet Protection settings. Then it asks me if I want to give IE permission to change these settings. Of course not (I think?). And the problem is still there. I connect with Verizon DSL, but when I go on Internet Explorer, the browser doesn't work properly- it says "Web Page Unavavailable While Offline"- what's up with that?! I even checked the status of my connnection- "Connected"! It's just retarded.
I haven't been able to. Before re-formating my notebook, I would like to exhaust all possibilities. After login I see my desktop background image, then the taskbar flashes once and that is it. No desktop, no taskbar, no icons. I can use the task manager to run most programs, so I tried antivirus, adremovers, etc. That didnt help. Then I tried a system restore, but i get this message saying system restore could not load files from the points I had set as restore points.
I've been smacking my head against this problem for about a week now. No one I know seems to have the answer either. I was asked to clean up a computer for a friend of my mother's. It had over 3,000 virus, ad, spy, etc. (I have it repeatedly testing clean now). When the system came to me it took well over 10 minutes to boot into Windows (Win XP Home, SP1) but once Ad-aware and Spybot started removing things it no longer boots all the way into windows. After selecting a user (any user) it loads the wallpaper but not the desktop icons or taskbar. CTRL + ALT + DEL shows that nothing is frozen and if I click "New task" then type "explorer" everything loads up just fine. I've tried a system repair, restore, and upgrade. I think it's definitely time for a fresh install but I'd like to know how to fix this without a reinstall if that is possible (especially in case I ever come across this again.)
My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.
I recently had a problem on my computer where Internet explorer was not working and would'nt open, and no windows based functions that used the explorer interface would work... So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.
every time i try to open anything that uses these programs i get a 'windows/internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' crash i think i have a virus in my processes i have 2 strange ones one is n6tgoxae.exe the other is 86851316.exe norton fixes this is for a short while but then the problem soon returns i have also tried spybot search and destroy as well as running AdAware can anyone help me on how to fix my explorer problems and gettin rid of these processes?

I recently put a new hard drive in my computer. Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I scanned the registry with Registry Fix and fixed all problems. It still starts every time. Netscape has no like problem starting.
I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.
C:WindowsTemporary Internet Filescontent.ie5, which i cannot seem to do. They say i should see a series of 4 or more random 8 character names like "ADOZMZS1", which again, I cannot figure this out. So if anyone could
I have a dual boot system, XP loads from IDE (drive C), Ubuntu installed on another SATA HDD(drive D). The problem I have is that the XP cannot connect to the internet but when I load Ubuntu, the system can connect to the net.
I have posted this problem earlier but it had other things wrong also.I narrowed it down to one problem now. When I'm surfing on the internet certain images won't come up.It will show the box where it goes and a little red x.Or it will have the "page cannot be displayed" message page where the image should be.It does this on most of the images on the hotmail website.I downloaded service pack 2 already. It does this randomly on just about every website. maybe its a problem with IE?
I turned off my computer and everything worked fine. I turned it on today and when I open my Internet Explorer I get the message "Page cannot be displayed" My Netscape browser works fine. I called Comcast they ran all the diagnosis from their end and said something got corrupted in Internet Explorer. They said it could be a win-sock problemI am running Windows XP, Internet Explorer v.6.0.2800.1106 and using Service pack 1.The only thing I can think to do is uninstall my Internet Explorer, download a new version from Microsoft, and install it.I thought a would ask for a second opinion before I before I tried anything.
computer in my possession crashed, and when i reset, my internet has gone wonky. I use MSN as my ISP, and before, i could access internet explorer, or firefox, or any program without ever actually having to sign in to MSN. after the crash, however, i now have to sign in to access internet explorer, firefox, and a couple programs. what angers me, however, is that i DONT have to sign in to access trillian. Limewire, also, will connect, but wont download anything without msn being logged in. How do i get back to how it was? And no, system restore did not work.
