Apr 3, 2006I've tried drivers off the HP site, and the printer works okay, but I can't get the 1200x1200 dpi printing nor duplexing. I have it hooked up to a stand-alone PC with AMD Athlon XP 1700+.

View 6 RepliesMy friend has a major problem. She told me she was getting a ton of popups, so I went over there and cleaned out all the spyware and viruses, and all was well. Well, now shes saying that she is STILL getting popups, tons of them. I know I took them out because I surfed the internet myself, and I didnt get a single popup... Shes also saying that her printer (hp laserjet 1100) is printing printer garb (garbled text)..... Guys, its the third time I fixed this computer, And I'm just not sure what to do anymore....Computer A with windows 2000 has the HP Laserjet 1100 connected to it by Parallell port.

I'm using windows professional. Whenever I try to install any of the drivers, I get the same error message: Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system. View 3 Replies View RelatedI got the following error:Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device. What I did was I just deleted some part of the registry related to the USB (HKLM Enum and Services parts) and didn't do some backup (Yeah I know.)thinking that maybe the controller will be installed automatically upon hardware change scan. Anybody can tell me how to fix this without reinstalling WinXP? Right-clicking to update driver in Device Manager doesn't work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBack when I first installed x64 many months ago, I apparently installed the VIA USB 2.0 driver, before I knew that wasn't required on this OS. Looking for the cause of another problem, while looking through the Event Manager, I found a couple of system errors that turned out to be USB filters that the system was blocking. I didn't even remember installing the driver, and when I check in Add/Remove Programs, it's not listed. I decided to simply delete the filters and the USB driver folder. However, after rebooting, I wasn't able to use my mouse, so I couldn't restore the driver from the Recycle Bin. I ended up having to do a System Restore, which set things as they were. Still, I'm looking for a way to remove this that won't cause problems. The only thing that I can think of is to try a repair installation of the OS, but I'm unsure that would do this either. I'm guessing that the VIA driver fouled up the native USB on the system, and this is the root cause of some mouse problems that I have been trying to fix for a long time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHave some strange problem that nags me every so often. when i boot up the computer i will periodically get a bsod with "bugcode_usb_driver" listed as the cause. I suspect it may be from some webcam i had tried to install, though i thought i had deleted everything. The error only shows up every so often randomly, and then sometimes when i do certain things. For instance, I disabled startup item Navcpl which i believe is norton antivirus (which just came with the computer, im using another program). the computer would not boot up until i went in in safe mode and reenabled it. Yesterday I partitioned my hd using a linux program (though linux is not yet installed, just a cd boot), and since then windows keeps asking me to do run a disk check when i boot up. if i skip it i will boot up fine, but if i let it run, i will count down to about 2 seconds (from 10 that it gives you to skip) and then give me the bsod. very strange.unfortunately the problem had started a long time ago, so i cant do a system restore (i thought i had solved the problem a while ago, but like i said every so often i would get the error on boot, i had been keeping my computer on for long times and so i didnt notice it).googling and checking the forums have turned up nothing. i saw some solutions online and on microsofts site about the same driver error, but under different circumstances, nothing like the problem im having.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy friend has recently bought a package PC, and the included motherboard drivers are... well, rubbish. I'm trying to find the right drivers for it, but the SiS website is useless, nevermind the Foxconn website. The motherboard is:Foxconn 655A01-FX-6LRS, Chipset (AFAIK): 655FX 964. I'm only used to nForce drivers (a single download), and this is just painful by comparison!I've already made 2 failed attempts to install the drivers, with no success. Which drivers do I need? At the minimum just the sound would be ok - he doesn't need the onboard graphics.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIt's unfortunate that my first post on these forms is to address a rather large problem I've encountered while re-installing different OS's. It's my hope that you guys can help me out. Don't let me down.Ok, here's the story. Despite all the vista nay-sayers, I decided to try it out anyway. I installed Vista Ultimate on my Compaq Presario sr1910nx. It worked relatively well, until one time I booted up - or at least, I tried. I was given the infinitely descriptive error message: "Missing Operating System". I decided that, well, Vista hadn't really met my expectations, so I popped my XP Home SP2 CD back in the drive, and went back. The install went smoothly. I deleted existing partitions on my hard drive, and then installed XP to the resulting unpartitioned space. So, I welcomed my XP desktop with open arms.
It didn't do the same for me. XP fails to recognize most of my hardware, including but not limited to my network adapter and cd-rom drive. Needless to say, this has resulted in some serious issues; I cannot connect to the internet, because XP refuses to realize that I have a connection. I can't even re-install XP from a CD, because XP won't recognize that, either.I tried mounting an XP .iso with Daemon tools. No dice, the installer wants a CD drive just as much as I do.So, I downloaded some driver identification tools to a USB drive from my laptop and ran them on my desktop. The problem? They need the internet to identify the hardware. So now I'm lost.My desktop box is now incommunicado, and unable to reinstall the OS. This is where I need you guys to come in. I've checked the compaq website for the drivers, and they're not there; that, or I've missed something.
