In my HKCU folder the main folder itself I have two entries which I haven't seen on other machines: HTTP11SAVED REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1) and HTTP11SAVED_VAL REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0). Are they good entries or bad entries?

Have got some registry entries in HKCU root folder that I have never seen before I have recently installed Net Framework 3.5 and Visual Basic 2008 Express, these entries may have something to do with one or both of these installs.
I want to backup my Autocomplete User Names and Passwords, Web Addresses, and Forms entries in the registry. What are the registry addresses for these items?
I tried to delete the registry entries which were bad, I had 30 of them, but the these two will just not go away, even by doing them manually, such as saving as a backup then deleting it manually and remerging. They just show up no matter what I do, or so use programs like Registry Mechanic, which I found only mediocre, very far from the ratings. to delete these two entries somehow from someone who is actully knows how to without using several so called registry cleaners, which only work partially.
I have entries in my Windows XP Professional Registry that are no longer needed. When I try to delete these entries the registry editor will not allow me to delete the entries. Is there a way that I can delete/remove these registry entries?
I have a registry entry that keeps respawning after numerous attempts to remove it. Is it possible to keep a registry entry from loading or keep it from even getting into the registry. The entry in question is:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMainBandRest
I have noticed rather a lot of duplicate entries in my registry I enclose an example below, can I delete them? AcroPDF.FDF AcroPDF.FDF.1 the CLSID data is exactly the same.
I have got two startup entries that cant be deleted. HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun They have the ability to clone most startup entries, and they cant be permanently deleted. Over the last year I have downloaded and ran multiple scans, with various malware applications from quite a few web site help forums.None gave any indication of malware present, but I suppose you cant rule it out. The first time I notice something odd was with Misconfig, I had three startup entries for SISUSBRG. I deleted two of them and disabled the original one. The next time they re-appeared was as 1 and 2 program entries
It started when I went to open a program that I've used reliably for years -- it started hanging, became unresponsive, and started sucking up all of my virtual memory. I uninstalled and reinstalled a clean copy, and the same thing happened when I tried to load it.I've since completely uninstalled the program, deleted all of its remaining files from my system, removed all of its registry entries.
I now have one folder that I cannot access, for no apparent reason. It's just a folder where I've got quite a bit of video stored (77 clips equalling roughly 13GB). Attempting to open it now results in explorer.exe sucking up all of my system resources until it (explorer.exe) crashes and restarts. (CTRL+ALT+DEL shows Memory Use and VM Size skyrocketing to 700,000+)
Hello, folks. I'm having a little trouble removing some corrupted registry entries found with the Uniblue RegistryBoost scanner. It was able to remove the other 667 entries, no problem, but these 3 just don't want to go away:
Quote: Scan subsection: System drivers Entries found: 2 Entries: Entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesCreative Service for CDROM
I run Windows XP Home, SP 2, with all patches and upgrades through the latest MS Update. I use an HP Pavilion Desktop. I have extensive realtime spyware/antivirus protection and scan daily for viruses and spyware. I think the machine is clean. I have used a 3rd party uninstaller program for about 8 months. It will detect 9 invalid uninstall entries--they are Registry Keys
I've deleted software from my PC. I used the uninstall process that came with the software. I've had to delete the reference in my Program folder. I noticed that the registry still has at least one reference to the deleted software. How can I identify all registry references created by this software and how could I delete them?
Have uninstalled Mobile Phone Tools for Motorla as it wasnt working properly. I have cleaned out everything except there are a few Motorola Modem entries in the registry that wont go. Do I need to get rid of these before I re-install? I want the comp to detect the phone as new hardware. If I need to remove the entries how can I do it when it tells me no?
I need to create a batch file to resolve a backup issue I'm having. I need a batch file to run before and after backup to correct the issue between Veritas and Backup Exec.http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/275013.htm
From time to time, I visit my registry. The following odd entries are new since I last looked. They appear to be empty and maybe even corrupt. Are they safe to remove? Is there any program that would identify these and mark them as removable? this is XP Sp2, if that matters. Only keys like this are in this hive.
Since installing Office 2007 (over Office 2000) recently, I often encounter delays in opening Office 2000 Word files. Furthermore, I am sometimes unable to open them unless I move them to a 'trusted' directory. So I defined a trusted directory, moved the file(s) there, and can work. But when I just now tried to open an Office 2000 Word file, I received a different error message, namely ' You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting.', with instructions to disable the restriction via regedit. When I looked at the registry data, there was no 'Office' tab whatsoever under the Microsoft tab beneath Policies. So I'm unable to edit the registry to 'unblock' access to such legacy files.
I use acronis as a restore tool and have never had a problem restoring the entire operating system. I had this individual program that was corrupted and I reinstalled it from the image I made using acronis. However, the program failed to appear in the add/remove section of windows. I beleive that I have to manually reinstall the registry entry of the program in order for it to appear in the add/remove section. My question is: is there a registry backup utility that'll let me reinstall individual entries? Something that's a no-brainer also as I'm not completely comfortable fooling around with the registry.
I downloaded "RegSeeker" and ran it to see what was up with it. Using the'Clean the registry" tab,I was very surprised to find over 700 questionable entries, most of which were "File or Path does not exist" and " Invalid ActiveX/Com entry (CLSID)".
I have Win2000Pro Could anyone tell me what the "N" startup item is? Before I disabled it HKCU was preceeding the location extension, but I have searched (as well as I know how)the Current User beehive and can't find a thing This shows up in no Start Menu/Startup folder, nor in Regcleaner startup list Disabling has manifested no problems, but what the heck is it?
Im having crazy problems with USB exceeded Bandwidth, In device manager i have 2 Usb Root Hubs and when i right click and check properties then Power to see what port belongs to what Hub but each time i connect a usb to each different port on my computer it only comes up in the 1st Usb Root Hub never in the 2nd one? is this odd?
I reinstalled Windows XP and accidentally installed it on my D: drive. Now I want to change the system folders, prog files, etc and make the C: drive my default one. Is there any way to do this WITHOUT having to reinstall XP again?
I know it is stupid but i have put up all the defense i can, firewall, antivirus, but somehow these nasty buggers just slip through. I am no computer expert, just an average user, so i don't want to reinstall the entire windows XP and go through all the update process. So the question is: how can i track down whatever is causing this random, time-to-time IE pop ups? When i do my research the term active scripting comes up all the time (for pop ups). I wonder if this is the culprit and will this thing remains active even I don't have IE windows opened.
Built my pc i thought everything was fine but on checking in device manager i have found a problem with the usb root hub. There are 7 entries for the intel family universal host controller that have no problems. Below that there are 7 entries for usb root hub these have yellow exclamation marks and on checking properties it says driver may be corrupted or missing code 39. Have tried to update drivers but could not find any.
I work for a company that uses an ethernet connection and a netgear switch to connect a bunch of trucks together, and then software on the main computer to control all the different trucks and display the data off the trucks, rates, pressures, engine diagnostics etc. Lately I have had an issue with the software on the main computer locking up. When I checked the event viewer the last couple of times I had a crypt32 error right around the time the software froze. Now I understand why this is happening, because windows is trying to update the root certificates, and I'm not connected to the internet.
I can no longer log on and I get this error message.Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:<windows root>system32hal.dll. Please re-install a copy of the above file.My problem is that I do not have a CD to reinstall anything with. It did not come with my laptop. Instead, I was supposed to create my own and didn't realize this until it was too late. I have a Compaq Presario V6000 w/WIN XP Home Edition and I'm wondering if it's possible to boot up manually via DOS with specific commands.
I have created another link regarding this issue, however this problem is now on my second computer. http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vi...load-blue.html.I just connected my iPod Nano (3rd Generation) to my second computer to charge up and then it completey shut down and now shows the error:Error loading OS <windows root>system32hal.dll Please reinstall a copy of the above file.I have tried to repair the required, but it wont even read or load my XP Pro installation disk to repair it.This is extremely frustrating, as I am now thinking that my iPod has a virus in it and has transferred it from my laptop through to my other PC~!
