After having logged on (I've Broadband so am automatically connected to the Internet) this irksome triangle with an exclamation mark inside appears on my
taskbar. Whne I click on it I get a list of urls advertising in the main porn and dating sites.I'm sure it has something to do with viruses, hijackers, etc but I have tried everything to get rid of it but to no avail
I have a one year old Sony Vaio with Windows XP. Just recently, I updated my Norton software. Still, every thirty seconds or so, I get a yellow triangle on the taskbar with a message "Caution! Spyware attack detected" or "Danger: antispyware protection failure". My browser is immediately then re-directed to either a site labeled "about:blank" or "antispyware.net" where I am asked to purchase new software. Any ideas how to turn this off?
Yesterday I was on my computer,I downloaded a codec, and afterwards I got a flashing yellow triangle and blue/red flashing circle on my bottom taskbar.I have ad subtract which is suppose to stop popups. Now I keep getting a popup from the triangle that says(System Alert:Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx and by the circle I get(System Alert popup)And Ads-Virusburst.com,The Spyguard.com,Malware Wipe.com and a ISA Monitor.exe,What the heck is going on?I went to my control panel and uninstalled everything that was downloaded in the last couple of days.I click the x on popups to close, and 30 seconds they come right back.Tried a system restore, and will not work.Any suggestions?Never had any problems in the past.
Windows XP a flashing yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it,
appears in the System Tray. Messages pop up such as "System Notice: Internet Service Provider (ISP) might be tracking your private information! Click the icon the check you ISP for reliability".
This yellow triangle error keeps popping out on my tray, and I try to right click or left click it,it disappears, then 5 minutes later it reappears again for 30 seconds, then it disappears.
On some websites I get an error message which shows up in the status bar.it is an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle. When this happens, I can't access the website. I have tried several suggestions from Microsoft, but I just seem to trade one problem for another. This first showed up when I "upgraded" to SP2.
Evidently Teen went to porn site and somehow a black ball with a yellow x has appeared on taskbar and something about Win Anti Virus Pro 2006 free install, cannot delete, access denied.Porn windows replicating when opening XP.
Small triangle keeps appearing on the corner of my screen with a ! in it saying Windows/Systems corrupt - what do i do? Can i put the disk bk into fix it bearing in mind i don't want to format my computer as have to many things on it another computer of ours had the same problem and when we restarted it it formatted itself and had to go in for repair.
With XP Pro SP2, I enable "Group similar taskbar buttons". I generally have my taskbar stretched 2 to 3 rows even so. Sometimes, when I have a lot of windows open, and the similar taskbar buttons group and stack themselves, so 1 button contains 2 or 3 open tasks, I can't get any action out of the buttons that represent multiple open tasks.
Any of the taskbar buttons that represent a single open task are fine. But any buttons that represent multiple open tasks don't respond. I have to do Alt - Tab to bring a task to the front, if it's one of the tasks on a button that represents a group. Or I can go to Taskbar Properties, and deselect "Group similar taskbar buttons".
I've just switched from 98 to XP. I find now that the window designations in the taskbar for my *browser windows only* are severely and unaccountably truncated. My browser is IE6. Even if there's only one window open, if it's a browser window, only one letter will display. Other windows will properly display the full name. I've turned taskbar grouping on and off with no change. I've also run the SFC utility, with no change. There is no such problem in my Win98 machine, and my security settings (and all other settings) are the same. I don't wish to upgrade to IE7.
I want to see all task bar buttons and not have them grouped. XP Taskbar menu offers check "Group similar taskbar buttons." I leave this unchecked, then Apply, then OK. XP still groups the similar buttons (e.g., Word doc1, Word doc2, etc.) instead of having these ungrouped.
his is my first post so excuse me if its in the wrong place.Device manager/other devicesAudio device on high defenition audio bus Ethernet network controller ? Video controller These all have the yellow ? markMy mother board is a Gigabyte technology m61p-s3.I have been to the Gigabyte website but dont have a clue what to download.
IE 6 is crashing on me whenever a site trys to automatically download a file or what not. Normally a yellow bar slides down from the top of the screen warning you of possible danger, but instead ie crashes with an error, referencing crypt32.dll. I've tried all the anti spyware/virus methods I know of, filtered my hijackthis log, but no avail.
I had to reformat my hard drive, under the device manager the Ethernet controller has a yellow question mark, now my DSL would not connect, also I thought should be network setting under that, didn't see any. I have windows xp sp2. under PC express controller port one I have the Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5750 Gigabit Ethernet Controller)
We have recently installed a PC of software that need an agent "pushed" out to each users PC. We also had turn on the file and print share option for all PC's. But since doing so, people are now getting a yellow dialogue bubble pop up in their sys tray EVERY time they print. I have been told that this may be a policy in GPO, can anyone give me any ideas where I could start looking?
I reformated the hdd on my notebook and reinstalled XP. I tried to play media player but it did not detect the sound card, it said:error id = 0x80040256 remedy id = 0x00000000 I went into device manager and in 'other devices' there was a yellow question mark and then all those devices (ethernet, multimedia, pci, sm bus control, serial bus control, video control) had yellow question marks next to them.
I just did a complete reinstall of my win XP pro O.S. Computer is working fine. Only one minor problem, I have a yellow question mark in Device Manager under Other devices, Ethernet Controller. Under Network Adapters, I have my USB Cable Modem. Also, under start/control panel/network connections/local area connections - USB Cable Modem. In the past, when I did a complete reinstall of the O.S., I have installed the Broadcom 4401 Integrated NIC driver that came with my Dell resource CD. I would not have a yellow question mark. But then when I installed the USB Cable Modem, I would then disable the Broadcom, since I didnt need it anyway. At this stage I would not have any yellow question marks. This time, since I wasnt using the Broadcom, I did not install it and only installed the USB cable modem. But now I have the yellow question mark. Since the computer is working fine, do I just ignore this yellow question mark issue or is there another workaround. Dell Dimension model 2350.
I have automatic updates set up on my Windows XP home system (SP2). Normally I just click the little yellow shield and it installs. No problems. This time it is trying to install SP 3. It goes right through the procedure until it is actually trying to install the new SP3 when it stops and tells me that "Access is Denied" "SP3 did not complete"No other error code or further information is given It has done this twice and I have not bothered since. Reading some of the posts on SP3 I am not sure that this is not a blessing in disguise however I would like to know WHY
I have a Dell 4600 running XP Home and all my USB ports have suddenly stopped working. When I go to the device manager and expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers, each of the Intel(R) 8280 1EB VBB Universal Host Controller has a yellow exclamation mark beside them. When I check their status this is the message: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). I was not in the registry prior to this, so I don't know how it got damaged I tried this: Click Uninstall, and then click Scan for hardware changes to load a usable driver ? no effect.
I tried this: Restart the computer in Safe Mode, and then select Last Known Good Configuration, which rolls back to the most recent successful registry configuration ? didn't fix the problem. Microsoft says that as a last resort, you can edit the registry directly ? but I not sure where and what to edit in the registry. If anyone can tell me what keys to edit in the registry I would very appreciative. I will do anything to avoid reinstall windows from scratch. I unfortuately didn't have system restore going so I cannot use that.
Im having major issues when trying to start up my Windows Xp PC.Its only just started and my computer has been running fine before today. Its extremely hard to explain what has been happening so i took a series of photos of the events that take place during the start up process: First Screen: Yellow vertical lines appear, colour distorted Second screen: Weird series of x0i 's appearing all over the screen Thrid Screen: The Start up option screen printed over the last screen with numerous letters missing After that the Normall Windows xp start up screen, colour distorted and eventually it feezes at this screen and the computer restarts itself
i am trying to delete the temp files in the windows/temp directory but they won't delete. It says a program is using them but even when i try and get rid of them in safe mode they won't delete, how can i get rid of them? Also when i try to run a panda online virus scan i click on the scan my computer icon and it does nothing but there is a little yellow exclamation mark on the bottom left of the window, is that why it isn't doing anything and if so, how can i fix it?
I returned to my computer earlier today and noticed it was a bit sluggish and out of the ordinary. I restart it thinking this will fix the problems, only to find out that its having problems booting up Windows XP. It gets to the window boot up screen and would get a quick flash of a Windows error message(blue screen with yellow text) and would restart and continue this process with no end. I attempted to boot-up from Safe-mode and last windows configuration, yet the problem continued. I decided to bite the bullet and reformat. Here entails my actual problem, I delete the partition and attempted to reformat. Well it begins as it normally would, however it freezes everytime at 1%. I have tried another HDD sadly, I don't think that one has ever worked. It gets power fine, mobo is working correctly. Yet, it could be several things I could've fried my HDD, CPU, RAM any number of things. Yet it dosent seem very possible as I have heat sinks on the RAM and decent cooling in my computer.
I have two DVD drives connected to an XP desktop computer, however, they do not work. They appear in Device Manager under DVD/CD-ROM drives with a yellow shreik/exclamation mark preceding the listing The devices are also recognized in the BIOS setup. When I click on the device in Device Manager, I get the message"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)". One of the devices previously worked correctly. In fact, I completed a clean install of XP using it. Just what does the error message mean Does it mean that the devices are faulty & need to be replaced
what ocat yellow pages is? this programs seems to take over my friends computer here at home. Can anyone Please tell me what this is and how he can get rid of it ASAP?
I want a single desktop click to enable/disable windows XP taskbar auto hide.I can do this if I write a script for the AutoHotkey macro tool to open the relevant dialog box and then check or uncheck the appropriate check box.I'd like to open the dialog box with a command line from AutoHotkey, or a similar operation. Right-clicking the taskbar even in the program is uncool. The catch is, I can execute any CP dialog EXCEPT this one as a command line, either passing a dialog parameter to Control.exe or else using a *.cpl file name with Control.exe or directly. But I can't find "Taskbar and Start Menu".
I have a proble with my XP taskbar. The other day it switched from time to reflect time and DAY. Which increased the size of my icons and now they look like ish... Can someone assist me in getting rid of the day stamp? I only need to know the time.
When i'm on a web page and i click the "favourites" (yellow star button) in WinXP (on the toolbar above the web page) i see all my favourite websites, but the little yellow icon does not appear beside them, so i'm unsure whether they are direct links to the web pages or whether they are folders containing the links !! Oddly enough, when i plug in my USB HD, the little yellow folder icons re-appear What can i do to get the folders icons back (without having to keep my USB HD switched on) ?
