I recently installed a rather large font package on my computer. The font package is large enough to slow down my computer and I want my original fonts back. How can I restore my fonts folder from 30,000+ fonts @ 2GB, to the original windows fonts? I don't want to do a restore option off the disc, because I don't want to lose anything. Any ideas?
I have a curious problem with my "System Restoration". I am running XP Pro on an IBM ThinkPad Z60t. When I go into the program, it has many different restoration points that were automatically set by the program (Check Points). It also reflects the restoration points that I have set manually. Now heres my problem: No matter which of the restoration points I choose, the computer the computer will go through all the steps necessary to restore, including the restart. After the restart and after the whole Desktop has been replaced, a window comes up and it says this: Restoration incomplete, Your computer cannot be restored to: (date&time). No changes have been made to your computer. Choose another restoration point. But, no mater which one I choose, the same thing happens again. I have dedicated the maximum disk space for System Restoration, (12%)and have checked all the settingsb but still can't find the problem
I really like this font in Vista and was wondering how I could install it into XP? I was going to do it by installing the powerpoint reader 2007, but it looks like it doesn't contain the font.
The system's default font is now Wing Ding, which if you know is nothing but a bunch of symbols. I have tried to do a system restore past the date when this problem started but nothing changes. I've done a lot of searching on google but nothing has worked thus far.
I have a font problem on my Windows XP professional. When any software uses some kind of system font, it is a bit to big. Looks like it is one or two pixels to big, og maybe in bold? This error shows up in some softwares, like in buttons and some texts. Its also there when a software crash, in the window that pops up asking if I want to send the error or Microsoft.
This laptp is suppsed to have a blue button that you can depress and it will bring XP back to the day it was orig loaded at the factory. But when l pick up a T-40 on Ebay besides having the COA l will have XP already on it.
Recently, I uninstalled Macromedia DreamWeaver MX. When I did that, however, it took a lot of the pre-set file extensions with it, such as ".PHP", ".CSS", ".JS", etcetera. How can I get my Microsoft Windows XP to recognise these file formats again, and have them all editable in Notepad again?
After I restored my computer due to some computer problem, I found that my mouse and network adapter suddenly not working, though their properties shows that they are 'working properly'. However I noticed that they are both not digitally sign (wth Windows), is this the culprit?
I am using XP Home edition running on an unmodified Dell Dimension (about 1 year old) I mistakenly set my Documents and Settings Folder (DS) to Private and I can not figure out how to undo this.I used the User control panel to create a password for my account. A dialog appeared asking if I would like to make my documents private. I mistakenly answered yes. This has destroyed my home network, I can not see my files from another computer. If I right click on my DS folder and select the Sharing option it shows "Make this folder private" checkbox as checked. However it is greyed out, I can not uncheck it. I also can't uncheck the "Share this folder" checkbox, or change the Share name. I can check, and uncheck the "Allow network users to change my files" box, but checking this box does not restore my ability to access my files.
I have no problem with opening System Restore. But this is what happens; http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/3785/restincmp.jpg I've tried more that 5 different dates to restore. I must use it because i have problem as: http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6142_102-0.html?threadID=381064&tag=forums06;forum-threads
Lately I've noticed my windows seem sluggish and slow when minimizing or restoring from the taskbar.I mentioned it to a few friends and they have all noticed it as well. I had a look in my task list and I don't see anything out of the ordinary there. I'm running norton 2003 and MS anti-spyware and neither has found anything wrong. Just wondering if this is a common issue and how I can fix it.
I tried running system restore and after the computer restarted, I got a message saying the restoration could not be completed. There was no explanation why. In case it matters, I have about 2 GB harddrive space left. Also, system restore has worked in the past.
I'm having a problem with my XP laptop. I've been hibernating my laptop daily for the past couple of years. Recently after waking up from every hibernation, the laptop gives the following error message:System restart has been paused:Continue with system restart.Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu. After that it boots into Windows, however i lose all of my open programs which is rather annoying. Does anyone know how to resolve this?
For some unknown reason or cause, my internet explorer's font size became so small that it is barely readable. How can I make the font size bigger? I tried Tools>Internet Options>Fonts but its doesn't allow to change size.
Hey all. Today I just noticed that while using IE its displaying some website's in extremely small font. I run a Dell Inspiron 5150 with an external monitor hooked up. I have had UltraMon installed for a few days now, but the problem just started this evening. Any ideas?
Running XP SR2 on a new HP I am very visually impaired I was able to increase font size in all areas except one any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. The area that I need to increase font size is the windows help information box when I enter a question in Windows or any app the answer box has this TEEENY font and I just cant see it. Is there any way to increase this font. (Would I have to reduce the resolution on my brand new LCD?) thanks
I had problems with a couple fonts after I upgraded to XP SP3, so I undid the upgrade and reverted to SP2 (not without a few problems of its own).I now notice that some of the font names in my FONT folder are mainly blue in colour with a few in black. Amongst the ones in black are those that caused problems in SP3. could anyone explain the significance of these colors?
When I was trying to make my XP SP3 look like Vista, I changed something for the font. I used Movefile and a script. When the computer restarted, the font had changed, but is far too big and looks terrible. I didn't save a system restore point and I have tried changing the font size in 'Display Settings', then 'Appearance'. And I have tried changing the DPI setting and the 'Display Settings', 'Settings', then 'Advanced'.
In trying to enlarge font for my father so he could view things more easily, the font on the internet is much too large. Some web pages are not viewable because of it. I have tried the Accessibility, Display, Font via the Control Panel. Tried internet options via IE. Suggestions please. As always, thank you .
In diferent programs (example - WinRAR, Winamp) font size in some windows are too big (see picture), it don't fit the window . I can't find any setup to regulate this font size. I have Windows 2000.
Other than Window Blinds, which I've had it with becasue it's so buggy sometimes, is there ant way to increase the size of Fonts in those right click menus and the one you get when you hit start and all programs. I imagine threre has to be a registry fix for something like this. The only other way I know how to do is by going to properties/appearance and font size but that throws the other fonts I want to keep at their chosen size,
I dont' remember exactly what preceded the change (i seem to remember a windows update), but now all of the fonts on any webpage (including this one and my received emails) are font size 14 or bigger (im not sure) instead of the usual 10.
I've been installing fonts onto my computer and I have probably 1600 or so in my folder now. Now whenever I try opening the folder it unexpectedly quits. I don't think it's a memory problem, cause I've got plenty of it. Also, it won't let me install any more fonts cause it keeps closing down.
I just reformatted and was messing around with WindowBlinds for awhile so that may be a culprit, but even though I've now uninstalled it, when I am receiving mail in Outlook Express the messages come in large fonts, I mean bigger and darker than what you normally expect. Then when I hover over them or even click on then they go back to normal size. It's not that annoying, but peculiar. I've tried repairing Outlook Express the best I know how but nothing's changed. Is there a setting somewhere in OE6 that can change that or a registry fix?
just did a Disk Cleanup and noticed all my files name in My Documents have two different color font. Original black and Blue.what are those blue font mean?
When a rogue program decides to install its own version of system fonts, it may replace the original version of the font file with a shortcut in the font folder. Once this program is uninstalled, the shortcut may now point to a font file that no longer exists. Windows XP in turn reacts by turning all unspecified fonts into italics upon next reboot. The simple way to fix this is to delete all shortcuts in the font folder and replace them with the actual font file. you can also double check the path of each font and look for any suspicious paths.
