Firewall Denying Access On Computer
Sep 9, 2005I cannot proceed to a county mapping page by using a link. Can this be because of the firewall in XP SP2? How can I turn off the firewall to check to see if it is interferring?

Remote Access Keeps Denying Us Saying Could Not Establish Connection
Aug 6, 2005I've been trying to help a friend by using the remote access feature in XP. We have tried several times but it keeps denying us saying could not establish connection after recieving the request in the email. We both turned off firewalls off and are both on at the same time. The only difference is I'm cable and he's dialup.

Apr 8, 2005i'm running windows xp with SP2 installed my wireless network is fine until i installed sygate personal firewall 5.5. after the reboot, my network shows limited connectivity. i was unable to acces the internet. i am connected through an airlink ar410w 108g wireless router with pci wireless card and through a speedstream 5100 dsl modem. after uninstalling the sygate, my i was able to access the internet. i've checked some of the setting from the sygate but it didn't help. could it be the firewall setting in the ar410?

Firewall - Computer Turned Black To Blue
Jun 11, 2008Windows firewall Just like magic, much of the text on my computer turned from black to blue. For example, all the text I've typed in to label my photos is now all blue, it was black when I originally typed it. All the text I typed in under my document files had turned to blue as well. Not all the text on the computer has turned to blue, just mostly in documents and photos. I have no idea how this happened. Does anybody know how I can change it back to the original color, black. I really have tried everything I can think of and so far nothing works.

Mar 29, 2007Recently I have not been able to access my hard drive(s) from My Computer. I double click on one of my partitions and the computer does nothing. It doesn't open the drive in order to see the files!! It even doesn't work when I plug in my external USB drive either. It sounds like a windows problem to me. However I can access any disk that I want if I type the corresponding address in the address bar.Do I need to reinstall a driver/services or even XP ?

Jun 25, 2005My computer crashed and I rebuilt the machine using the old HD (with XP installed) as a second HD. I wanted to move Pics, music etc onto the new HD and then wipe it clean. I was able to move anything that was in a shared folder and anything in Program Files. Anytime I tried to move any file under a user password protected , I was denied access. I tried to reboot the computer using the 2nd HD. I got to a window that had the option of Safe Mode or last known good config. Neither of these would load Windows. I then tried to boot with my Windows XP disc. I entered the area for repair Windows, but have no idea what the Administrative Password is. I tried every combination I could think of. Last night a friend tried to move the files with DOS without success.
