is there a SAFE way of changing my system font because i want my OS to look more customised than it already is.i really don't know what to do since when i look at other forums i find that you have to change the registry and sometimes the computer doesn't like it and i don't want to risk damaging my system.
Yes I realize this is a very dumb question XDD. I still need an answer.I've went to -->Properties-->Display and still can't find where you specifically change the font colour on the desktop.
I would like to know if it is possible to change the colour of the font we see on our desktop. Is it possible to change it to black or some other colour?
For some reason the fonts are all small on my computer. The name of the desktop items on my desktop, those fonts are all small too. I went to properties and changed the font size to large, and nothing happened, their still small. I even changed the screen resolution on the 'properties', their still small.
I have a font problem on my Windows XP professional. When any software uses some kind of system font, it is a bit to big. Looks like it is one or two pixels to big, og maybe in bold? This error shows up in some softwares, like in buttons and some texts. Its also there when a software crash, in the window that pops up asking if I want to send the error or Microsoft.
I just want to know how to change screen resolution in safe mode. The reason is when I try to use certain programs in safe mode, I can't view all the options and buttons of the program because it goes off the screen and resizing dosent help.I go to desktop properties and try to change it but the bar will not slide to any other position.
I really like this font in Vista and was wondering how I could install it into XP? I was going to do it by installing the powerpoint reader 2007, but it looks like it doesn't contain the font.
The system's default font is now Wing Ding, which if you know is nothing but a bunch of symbols. I have tried to do a system restore past the date when this problem started but nothing changes. I've done a lot of searching on google but nothing has worked thus far.
I use CorelDraw and with it comes a little app called Bitstream Font navigator. I try to use it as little as possible though as it always messes up my system fonts. Normally it comes right again after a reboot. This time though it won't change back. Seems it's stuck on Tahoma or something. how to change it back to whatever the default system font is?
Our application using MSJVM suddenly stopped working on one of the computers. The user claims that the application worked well about a month ago and stopped after that. The precise time when it stopped workign is not knwoen. He does not recall running any Windows updates etc., after that. Is there any way we could use system restore or something like that to find the difference from the current configuration to the one about a month back?
I have a serious font problem, apparently some of them got completely messed up, apart from reinstalling windows from scratch, is there anything I can do?
I currently use Adobe Photoshop for much of my work, I require various specialized fonts, such as the ones done specifically for films, TV and Bands alike. Whenever I click to go into my fonts folder, you know c:windowsfonts, it freezes,it just gets stuck there, an I need access. When this was working, downloaded fonts only worked at the time i placed them in.The .ttf file stayed in the fonts folder, but when I came logged on at another time after logging off/shuting down, the font was no longer in the drop down lists in the Microsoft programs/photoshop, and like i said was still in the fonts folder.
Every time I install a new font in windows my internet explorer browser (version 6.0) displays everything in italics. So I restore my system back to the point before I installed the fonts - and everything is fine. Even if I install just ONE font and it is NOT an italic font, my browser display turns into italics again. This is driving me crazy and I don't know what the problem is.
I am a computer enthusiast and I assemble my own PCs. I wanted to know how to brand the PC with custom System Manufacturer and System Model settings. I am aware of the OEMINFO.ini file but that only changes information in the Computer properties page when you right-click 'My Computer' and choose properties. But when you use dxdiag, the System Manufacturer and System Model read "To be filled by O.E.M".Could anyone please tell me how to go about changing these settings ? Changing the OEMINFO.ini file does not affect these values.OEM manufacturers like Dell, Sony have changed the settings on their products, so I'm sure it's possible.

I recently bought a Canon PowerShot SD430 Digital ELPH Wireless for use in my chiropractic practice. It will be used in posture evaluation and I selected it for the wireless feature. After unsuccessfully trying to install it on my samsung laptop R710 AS04 I was informed by canon help that 'Windows XP (excluding the 64-bit version) with Service Pack 2 installed is required to use the wireless function.' while the samsung came with Vista pre-installed.
My question is this: I still have an old CD of XP Home Edition, it is version 2002 with a part number X08-26270.....how do I know if this is the 64 or 32 bit version? Will I have problems installing SP2 on such an old version or should I pop for a newer one? I'm determined to make the danged camera work wirelessly, any other suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
could someone please explain to me the purpose of the "System idle process" from what i can tell, it doesnt do a great deal, it starts up at the most inconveniant times, and takes up 99% of my cpu resources. is it possible to kill it?
I don't work for this company or know anyone who does; but, this is as good a price as I've seen for a non-OEM copy of Windows XP Pro. I ordered two copies today. If anyone knows of a cheaper price, post it here; but, this is as close to free as I've seen.http://cdsfu.com/index.php?categoryID=87
I have to keep reseting my computer time every so often. It's worse when I turn on the computer. It's always ahead by about thirty minutes, I have to keep setting it back. It never stays put. (CMOS battery?) Anything I can do to fix it? Windows 2000
I am running windows XP. Being a student I am relying on AVG, Spybot search and destroy/ adaware. Just recently my time in windows keeps changing itself. I am worried that maybe I have a virus but my antivirus protection is not finding it.
I have a question. Can you take out Windows from your PC and put in a MAC operating system. I believe it's called Linux or Panther OSX but I may be wrong. Anyhow is it possible? I'm just tired of dealing with Windows crashes and security problems and a host of other headaches. Probably should have bought a Mac but that's in the future plan. If possible to make the switch would it be difficult?
