Diff Wallpaper Per Dual Monitor Screenshot Included
Jun 23, 2006
I run dual monitor at work, which is actually consisting a laptop (secondary) and a 19" LCD monitor as primary. Is there a way to have different wallpaper on each? There's gotta be a way, but I don't think you can using built-in Windows stuff. maybe there's a prog out there that would let you? Right now if you apply a wallpaper, applies to both screens.
I just moved in to college and set up my computer, but due to limited space didn't bring my second monitor. Now my aim, and ventrilo windows are still on the other monitor but no way to get them to the current monitor for use.
My Latitude C610 with XP service Pack 2 is connected with external monitor and only shows wall paper on external monitor and not shows icons or any open application.
Windows XP, SP-3, 500 Meg memory, Nvidia video controler.
After a windows reload some programs pop up off the screen to the left and cannot be seen. The second montor is to the right. Both work and display fine. How can I eliminate this phantom third screen? If anyone thinks they might have a solution I can provide more details.
well i was having trouble with my mouse as if it was on another screen and this had happened to me once before when i reinstalled xp after my computer got messed up so i was screwing with the display dual moitor settings and me being the complete fool that i am i selected the 2 monitor and put it as my primary well now i can not go back and change it if any one of you can tell me how to change it i would be very pleased some specs that might help are these i am on a dell xps 400 running ops xp media
My Acer XP screen cracked.I looked it up and was able to connect it to a different monitor by using the command: Fn then pressing F5 three times. It worked for the last few months, but Yesterday I accidentally hit the power cord of the monitor and it switched back to the laptop. I tried the command again but this time it didn't work.
Is there another command or something I could do to connect my laptop to the other monitor?
My work PC has 2 monitors, and my home PC has 1. When I connect to my work PC, I see only the primary monitor, which is what I want. I have a problem with a certain application though, it opens properly in the primary monitor, but has a dialog box that seems to be opening in the secondary monitor (I can't see it, but I am able "guess" my way around it with the keyboard). Is there any way to force everything onto the primary monitor?
I am trying to go from a single monitor to a dual monitor. My present graphic card is integrated on to my motherboard. I have another old graphic card a PCI S3 Virge. The problem with this graphic card is that its driver is not supported by Windows XP.If I disable my graphic card on my motherboard.I can manage to get this PCI graphic card to work.If I hook up both the graphic cards i.e. both of them are enabled, the computer does not manage to boot (except in safe mode.) It should also be mentioned that when my PCI card is plugged in the computer at time of booting uses it and not the monitor plugged into the graphic card attached to the motherboard. Is there a way to change this.I tried messing with i.e. all possible combinations of values in the BIOS, but nothing seems to work. I would be grateful if someone had some idea on what to try.
I recently set up dual monitors which has been such a help in my work, but a somewhat annoying feature is that my firefox and a few other programs insist in opening in the wrong monitor.I've tried closing them from the correct one, maximizing & closing, saving session (in FF), and other things but I'm out of ideas.
The last thing I want ANYONE to see is My Pictures. Why is this damn thing offering THAT place as first choice for dektop wallpapers? I pointed it (browsed to) Windows/Web/Wallpapers but it STILL insists on my pictures included there! And there is no obvious, clear cut way to change it, I have to google all over the place to find the damn answer! Pure wasted time. to remove that place and prevent it from ever showing up as a first choice for wallpapers?
What are the steps needed to access one of my partitions, delete it, then use 1/2 the space and apply to system drive and the other 1/2 to another partition?
I am wondering if it is possible to find the location of where your wallpaper pic is temporarily stored while it is your current wallpaper. The reason I ask is because I thought I saved the pic before I made it my wallpaper, but I cannot locate the file. Also, is there a way to find out the name of the file? Then I could do a search, but as it is, Desktop properties just labels it "Internet explorer wallpaper
I have a 27" Dell Monitor with a Radeon X850XT card. Never had a problem with it and this new problem has just come out of no where. All background wallpapers leave a big gap down the left hand side of my screen. The pic's are big enought o fit the screen resolution and if I choose a smaller pic and 'center' it in display properties it does not center..I have just updated drivers and no change.Have WINXP ser pack 2
i have a problem with taking a screen shot i recently did a destructive recovery and i think it got my configurations out of whack its a small problem actually there is two but ill start with what i think might be the simplest one before when i pressed Ctrl+Alt+prt scr to do a screenshot it would capture it as a bitmap and now after the recovery it captured on my clip board i think it simthing to do with thr registry how can i fix that. and the other problem is when coloring with paint the colors are wrong something wrong there.
I just got a new computer from HP, it's running Windows XP Media Center and is an Athlon X2 4200+ with 2 GB of RAM, right now as seen in the screenshot there are over 60 processes using 50% of my CPU, just while idle...i literaly just got the computer 3 days ago, so i haven't installed any random programs and i am annoyed that all these processes are running
While trying to rename a particular floppy disk, i kinda. changend the name of the drive. I tried to change it back, but it still doesn't look right. It doesn't really affect aything, but it'd be nice to have it back to looking the way it should.the screenshot better describes what I mean.
I looked for this but found nothing. My mouse goes way off the side of the screen and when I take a screenshot there is extra space, almost like my vid card is set up for wide screen, but its not. I already have the newest drivers installed for my nvidia gfx 5500 and it is set to only one monitor. it also detects the cureent monitor and i think it should know its not a wide-screen. please help, this is really annoying. heres the screenshot, i can only see the main part of windows and not the extra part on the right.

I ran into a problem today with my XP system. While browsing the web, the graphics on my screen seemed to go crazy. There were all different colors of what appeared to be little tilde's (the character) on my screen. They generally were present where there had been a window that was open, and they would mostly be confined to the place of that window. e.g., if I opened the start menu and closed it there would be a patch of disfigured color in the rectangle where it was.
Anyway, I rebooted my system thinking that would fix it and saw a bunch of disfigured characters on my BIOS screen and while it booted in general (I included a screenshot of the character disfiguration at this point). It gets through to the Windows splash screen with the loading bar, and from there the screen goes black. The system and monitor are still on. I had the latest video drivers for my card.
I had a boot issue I couldn't fix so I took it to a shop. Now whenever I boot I get a system configuration tool popping up. Saying I can factory seal, extend grace period, ect. What should I do with this. FYI: The store did re-install windows.
acer aspire 4520, windows xp newly installed, formatted twice. No software installed-claen install.Ok, my cpu usage always hover around 48 to 70percent. and the cpu fan air is damn hot. but system idle process is 99% percent.reformatted my laptop twice already but problem still persists.
I have latest video drivers and everything else. Its actually a duel boot system and on the other install on windows prof.everything displays fine. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be awsome.
I'm looking to purchase a notebook and learned a XP Home CD or a Bootable CD isn't included. XP Home is already installed. Isn't a XP CD needed to load uninstalled XP features plus to insert at various times when prompted? Also, can a bootable CD be purchased? If both are purchased at retail, would they be compatible with the installed version of XP Home and with the keycode differences? To be prepared for maintenance, what is needed to support XP Home?
