Ok most of my games are freezing up during gameplay such as Everquest freezes up for no reason or same for Guild Wars. I think its something wrong with my computer (but no sure the problem) or it might be something wrong with the graphic card. I can telll the difference between lag of a game and the game just freezing up for no apparent reason.

View 12 Replies View Relatedi havn't been able to install any games because my directx 9.0c was acting up but ive been on the windows website and fixed it. However, when i play games i have a problem which has been continuing for a very long time. When i load up a game it works alright, loads up then my computer restarts. for example, i have downloaded the eragon demo just for the sake of it and i load it up, it loads the demo and jsut as the controlled gameplay starts my computer restarts everytime. It is the same problem on every game that ive had for along time and i don't know what is wrong or why.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI had bought a Compaq Presario 5013wm a few weeks ago. The system came with Vista. I was having a lot of hardware issues with network and gfx card, so I opted to install XP. Well, XP wouldn't install because I had no floppy disks to load the raid drivers with, so I went under the BIOs and changed it from RAID to IDE. So now XP is on and everythings working... kind of. The problem I seem to be running into is some seemingly random crashes. From what I've noticed, they only happen while playing a game and, very rarely, when playing music. Sometimes I can play for hours and other times, just a few minutes. The graphics card is a Geforce 7300GS and it has the latest drivers along with the audio. Checked the temp and it seems to stay between 64-67C while playing a game, which I hear is normal for my card. The BIOs is still in IDE mode.. not sure if thats an issue.. can't turn it to RAID without a floppy drive -__-;. Upon thinking of it, I doubt that's the issue as the few times I was able to play before uninstalling vista, I recall the same freeze.
View 14 Replies View RelatedOkay so I seem to have this problem with every single PC game I try to play. Basically I'm just trying to focus on possible causes of the problem. When I start a game up, let's say Age Of Empires III, as soon as the intro video comes up I hear some weird clicking or ticking. Then I can play as usual but with the clicking popping up every once in a while.. Then usually after a random amount of time the game will freeze. OR I can actually quit the game and do somethin else for a while but somewhere down the road - my PC freezes.
This happens with every game, more often with more taxing games on my video card. Now I know clicking is usually associated with HDDs but I just dunno about that. I have two HDDs and for example. I had Pirates installed on HDD 1 and had the problem so I wiped the drives clean and installed WinXP and Pirates on the other drive and had the same problem.

My computer went from running fine to taking 5 min to start windows (this is before getting to desktop) then started doing a blue screen windows stop because of my nvi drivers which i updated/uninstalled/reinstalled and it works fine as long as world of warcraft isnt on or i dont leave the computer on all day... ive never had these problems before and its very aggrivating. i didnt download anything but i did let my friend use it for 2 days when i was away and thats when i seemed to notice the problems.

I was given some info to try which I tried to no avail and then someone told me to do a Hijackthis scan Could someone please at least check out this log and see if the problem lays there as I cannot play any games etc as they are totally unplayable even if they are really old or I turn all the specs as low as possible.

However, when I'm in the middle of a "graphics-demanding" game (like warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne), the whole computer will totally freeze. It doesn't just hang or lag but the screen freezes and i have the restart the computer using the reset button.That's not the worst of it. When the computer has rebooted it will freeze from anytime as soon as the desktop begins to load to when the desktop has already loaded. The computer will only start up normally if i just shut it off and turn it on the next day.Oh and the computer can reboot to safe mode or start up to safe mode with no problem at all.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been away at University and have since come back and my parents are having some problems with one of the computers at home.Basically when using the computer Windows will just completely freeze up randomly, the mouse will stop moving, the keyboard will stop moving, and the clock will stop. As this happens, a noise comes from the computer which sounds the same as one of the noises when I turn the computer on, but it repeats a couple of times. It's a more mechanical whirring noise rather than an electronic beep or anything like that. It's very hard to explain - sort of like a build up of 'whirring-ness' and then a click (x I was wondering if this could be a hard drive problem for one - although I have done some diagnostics on the drive with SpeedFan and everything seems to look fine.

I'll be surprised if i get this finished before it does it again. Also I have tried 4 different browzers and each one is working for a bit then just closing on me. It is driving me crazy. I can't get it to stay on long enough to burn any of my stuff to a disk.

What happens is once I turn it on and all the programs load I will try to do something and then it just boots up again. Anyone know what is going on? I tried a system restore to 3 days back before it restarted on me but I am still having problems. I was also able to run quick scan with Windows Defender and nothing showed up.

View 8 Replies View Relatedmy computer graphics started freezing and going distorted. and now some times my computer will only show a black screen when turned on . i bought a new graphics card and it will not work either and after that i tried my old graphics card that also stoped working in a few hours. all this started happening after i added 1 gb of ram but even without it my graphics cards are still not working. when the computer starts up some times there is all distorted sysmbols over the screen then everything goes fuzzy and the computer freezes or restarts.
