How To Increase Font Size Of Windows Explorer

(1) How to increase the font size of Windows Explorer?
(2) Is it possible to put in folder, file name in the TaskBar? I can pin applications like Ms Word, Power point but not any specific file or folder which I am using.
(3) The time in the task bar is showing as 23:34.How can I make it to 11:34?
(4) Like Windows XP is it possible to bring in a kind of a "Show Desktop" in the task bar so that I can quickly move into the Desktop from a current window.

Jul 25, 2013I'm working with an HP ElitePad, a 10" Win 8 tablet with no mouse/keyboard. One of the pieces of software I'm working with is only accessable via right-clicking (press and hold) its icon in the taskbar and selecting to launch it.
The issue I'm having is that the icons are very small and I need to get this working for an end user who would endlessly be missing it.
How to increase the size of the icons? All I can find so far is the checkmark in the options to make them smaller.
Maintenance :: Increase File History Cache Size Beyond 20%?
Feb 26, 2013I thought the Win 8 File History backup feature looked like a good idea so I bought a 1TB external hard drive to use solely for backup. I was thinking that I would be able to store a massive history of backups on it but I can only set the size of the offline cache to a maximum of 20%. Why is it limited to such a small amount of space? Why not 80% or 100%? Is there a registry setting to increase this?
It seems to be a strange arbitrary thing to set it to such a small amount of space if you want to use a drive dedicated for the purpose.

monitor is small, but it supports 2560 * 1256 resolution resolution is too high on my small monitor, so every text and pictures are too small on my windows
i already using my windows with scaling up icons, texts, by changing registry values.
but still, texts and tiles on metro UI is not changed, it still is in small size.
To make these tile's font size bigger, what can i do?

Nov 18, 2013I have increased my DPI to 250% to be able to read stuff in Windows without getting headache. Is there a way of increasing font size of start menu items as well?
And what about text size of items when alt tabbing, text size of charms bar (win+C) and text size of settings (win+i).
It seems to me that instead of improving the good old features of the older versions, Microsoft suddenly decided to replace them with lots of crap instead, not taking into account that there are people out there who don't have the eagle eye vision.

Windows 8.1 - System Font Size Decreased After Update
Aug 14, 2014My system font size in Windows 8.1 decreased after the update. I had to go into Display settings and manually increase the size of the font in each category from 9 to 10.
Unfortunately, I don't know what the default size was before. I just know that after the update my system fonts appeared visibly smaller.

Whenever or whatever web page I am viewing and I slide the 'touchpad' mouse pointer/cursor across the page the font sometimes increases or decreases in size, i,e, from 100% to 105% or 150% or 50%. I think I am putting too much force onto the touchpad.
My question is:- is there an easy way to stop the font from changing? apart from being more gentle on the touchpad.

Apr 26, 2014I have received a new laptop from HP to replace my original purchase which turned out to have a defective keyboard. I am in the process of clearing my personal info/history from the defective computer before returning it to HP.
I have deleted all my files and have uninstalled all the programs that I installed. I also deleted the items shown in the "Desktop" directory (which were the shortcuts I created). That may have been a mistake because now I am attempting to clear the shortcut icons from the desktop, with no success! Since the files to which the shortcuts pointed have been deleted, I get a message telling me the file is no longer located in the "Desktop" directory (no kidding, I deleted it!). I can't delete them or even rename them or delete their names. I realize now that I should have deleted the shortcut icons before clearing the "Desktop" directory.
These shortcuts don't link to anything, but because their names give an indication of my personal interests, I would prefer to have them removed. I could reformat the drive, but I assume HP would like to get the machine back complete with all files that they originally supplied with it. I really don't want to do a restore and start over clearing my info.
Desktop Icons Always Appear On Start Up?
Jan 14, 2014I just got a new laptop with Windows 8 and upgraded to Windows 8.1.
I don't like seeing my desktop icons, so I did right click on desktop -> View -> Show desktop icons so that they disappear. They're gone, but every time I restart my laptop, they appear again.
I'd like to solve the problem correctly without just deleting all of my desktop icons.

Desktop Icons Keep Disappearing
Jan 19, 2014I recently upgraded from XP to Windows 8 and subsequently to 8.1 I'm having persistent problem with desktop icons disappearing. This happens when our PC has been on for around 10 minutes, regardless of whether the PC is active or not.
The second problem is the icons on the taskbar will not work correctly - only a very small window opens above each icon and it will NOT maximise. The only way to solve this I've found is to restart the PC but it's becoming more and more frequent ..

Windows 8.1 Keeps Moving Desktop Icons By Itself?
Feb 11, 2014Last september i formatted my hdd and installed windows 8 ultimate, then updated to 8.1 ultimate, i don't exactly remember when but after some time it was installed desktop icons began to move by themselves. Last month i got an SSD and i decided to just reinstall windows 8.1 PRO from scratch. i did. After 1 or 2 days icons started moving by themselves again. i'm pretty sure there is a recurring way they do it, there must be an even that because of a bug triggers the movements, i haven't been able to determine it tough.
There isn't much more to say other than:
-"AutoArrange Icons" is disabled.
-I tried to download some .ini fixes for similar problem but they fails.
-I tried programs to manually restore icons position manually with a previous save. useless.
-i have no viruses and no strange programs installed.
-At the time i started having the problem i only had: StartIsBack 1.5.2, chrome and Visual Studio.

Jun 15, 2013I want my desktop icons to be arranged to a pattern I like. But whenever I do this Windows 8 will destroy my pattern randomly back to default. Is there a way to stop this? I have Auto arrange icons unchecked BTW.
I have Start8 and Windows 7 widget support installed if this makes a difference. (I don't want to remove or diable them)
