How To Find Photos That Exported From Digital Camera
Jan 22, 2014
I used the san disk from my digital camera to export the photos from it onto my computer. Once it was completed I was unable to find the photos anywhere on my computer. I've checked My Pictures, files, and every other place I could think of and they are nowhere to be found. I use Windows 8.1 O/S.
I have a Dell laptop running Windows 8.1 and my camera app recently stopped working. When I open the app a message comes up saying - We can't get to the camera roll right now.Something went wrong while accessing the camera roll.
I assume that the default save location for photos and videos is my pictures library but there is definitely a folder there called "Camera Roll" so what is the problem? Also, is there any way that I can get the photos to save to SkyDrive?
Windows 8 problems. How to easily and quickly download selected photos from my camera. When I tried it was taking forever as the system seemed to be going through opening every single photo on my camera and I gave up waiting. I just want to be able to download the latest ones not all of the ones I have on my camera.
After installation Digital Persona 6.2.1.300 on clean Windows 8.1 x64 it can't find reader. Drivers for reader from support.dell.com, 5460_Security_Driver_N0FYH_WN_4.5.226.0_A00. After update DP to 6.2.1.309a problem is not solved.
I have had no problems with Win 7 computers finding my Canon G16 WiFi camera and connection it to them. But my Win 8.1 system just can't find the camera to get it connected.
Unfortunately, other than simply cutting out or fading volume, or just plain refusing to record, Windows doesn't give any message at all. There's no error code, or anything.
I've tested the mic. The recording is on there, but Windows 8 has, on a number of occasions, deleted or skewed my recording in some way. My question is, Do I need some additional app? So far it seems I've had nothing but problems with Windows 8, particularly where sound is involved. The sound card, by Realtek, seems useless. The Realtek Manager shows an empty page.
I downloaded Easy-Hi-Q Recorder. It seems to me this is for an analog mic. I had a similar problem with Steinberg Cubase.
Any experience with recording, esp. in Windows 8. I'm about to give up on Windows 8 altogether if things don't work out.

I am shortly replacing 3x 2Tb hard drives with a Western Digital Black 4Tb in a major reorganisation of my system. Currently my drives are not partitioned and folders have become badly organized as I was led to believe that partitioning wasn't a good idea nowadays. A few folders are mapped to drive letters and I have a 3Tb NAS drive on my router for backup.
My question is whether to partition the new 4Tb drive or to create a folder structure and map some to drive letters?
I have a Win 8.1 setup with 16Gb RAM, an SSD boot drive and SATA6 and am a photographer so have very large files to move around at times.
How to manage my laptop from ah dell crash?i mean when i on my dell laptop and it appeared like this " an unhandled exception occured in dell.all browser is close now.what to do?
How to install inf/drivers which have no digital signature in Windows 8 ? I had tried to install kqemu-1.4.0pre1 and returned "Third part inf does not contain digital signature information". When I tried to run service which returned
C:Windowssystem32>net start kqemu System error 1275 has occurred.
When I access the dialog box headed "Attach Files" and choose the wording "Smaller 640 x 480", I then click on ATTACH at the foot of the box.
When I go back to the gmail page and choose the resized picture to send as an attachment, the size shown is an enormous size. Why not the reduced size?
I understand that Windows automatically resizes the picture to be sent in an attachment. So why does the picture not appear in its reduced size but in its original size on the gmail page? Is this normal? Will the picture be transmitted in its reduced size or in its original size?
I had Windows 8 32 bit installed on a WD5000AAJS 500 GB hard drive that died on me. I had a backup of it made using the free version of Paragon Backup & Recovery. Apparently there is something wrong with the disk image so I am unable to recover from it (spent the past week trying everything I can think of or find on the internet to get the image to work). Anyways, there are some files on the hd that I would REALLY like to recover.
I can connect the HD to another PC running Win 7 and it starts to spin (no noise or excessive vibrations). The PC sees the HD as an unallocated drive with 134217728 GB when I look in Computer Management. I read somewhere that this represents the largest possible size for a Win 7 HD (something like that - I'm sure I'm wrong, though). Anyways, I was thinking that since at least the HD spins and the PC can see it, there must be some way to recover the files off of it. There is a MySQL db on there that I would like to recover and some batch and vbscript files I would like to recover.
i was able to get as far as having the px load from camera to computer & somehow all px got installed into the computer but only temporarily ! While camera was still attached to tower, I clicked on Control Panel/Computer/then the list of programs in computer and then i saw the name of the camera (cannon Power Shot) ...then Cannon 100, clicked on that and then saw all px - was able to individually email some to myself but when i detached cable from tower to camera and went back to ''Computer'' found Cannon 100 but no px were there -so obviously i wasn't able to save them.....but strangely enough 3 of the downloaded px were in the ''DCIM' folder (whatever that term means)...but i don't know how those 3 got there ! So i got far enough to download & 'view' but don't know how to ''save'' the px in the computer for future viewing without the necessity of attaching the camera....besides i'd like to delete some px from the camera once saved into the computer.....I'm so used to XP
I would like to see my pictures made with my Canon 40D (.CR2) as thumbnails instead of photoshop icons. windows 7 or windows 8 updates aren't working....
are there any Camera RAW plugins for Win8.1 allready ?
I would like to have native Windows plugins, no IrfanView or something.....
Set someone up with new Windows 8 PC. Everything has gone fine but when he plugged in his digital camera via USB and turnited it on(Canon Asomething or other) Windows makes a single tone and does nothing. Removing the cable also gives out a single tone.
I have a Samsung 500t and after clean install 8.1 i notice the camera app does not hv any resolution setting so now my 8 mpixel front cam is limited to 2mpixel. wtf?? how can ms f up even such a basic thing? I mean if this is the way Ms is going about doing bizniz its no wonder they are losing to android. this setting was present in 8.0. iwas hoping for better camera app like the ability to turn flash on off on demand but of course instead of improving its regression...
I used the Windows 8 Refresh and like many others I seem to have lost all the important files. Where as I could simply connect my Camera and it would automatically connect now it does't . AVG, I Tunes, Abi all lost. How can I restore the automatic connection etc? I can't even use the tool bar AVForums when writing a message?
How come the camera app lags if I go to like 1200x800 or more.. I got a beast machine. Also, how do you take a picture with the camera app? The button on my webcam does nothing and I'd rather use a software button.
I just got my tablet and the first thing I did is have it start in Desktop-mode so I never have to see that awful and useless toy Metro UI. Even on a tablet the desktop is superior. Go figure. I hate every time I accidentally click that "Start" button which brings me to Metro.
Anyway, the only way I can use the built-in camera from desktop is to "search" for camera and the Metro camera app shows up and I can take pictures. I even created a desktop short cut in desktop mode for that camera. But since that is a Metro app, it doesn't seem to work from Desktop.
1. is there a way to make this Metro camera app work from Desktop?
2. Is there a different desktop app or program to use camera from desktop?
It also would be nice to be able to zoom and have flashlight etc. this camera doesn't seem as great as my phone camera. Or am I missing something?
After loading pictures from my camera the pictures on the camera do not delete. Win 7 had a little box to check to delete the pictures. How do you set this in Win 8? I have looked and cannot find the place to set this.
I have a Sony DVD camera (mdl DVR-HC85) that has USB and firewire cables for connection to a computer for the purpose of transferring video to computer programs. Both cables work fine with Windows XP. However, Windows 8 will not recognize the camera when connected by a USB cable. I was told by Sony that neither Windows Vista, Windows 7 nor Windows 8 will recognize the camera when using a USB cable.
I have a Dell computer with Windows 8 that does not have firewire nor can a firewire card be installed.
The IP camera I'm using UCam247 1080P uses ActiveX so IE is my only option. If I use Chrome/FF the manual record controls disappear, so I'd really like to get this working with IE again. 7 days ago the camera was working OK using 192.168.0.39 (an auto assigned IP on set-up), but then having used it for 2 months the IP suddenly changed automatically and the camera dropped connection. The IP now is 192.168.0.4.
The problem seems to be related to me having changed the default password. It seems as though IE is remembering the new password and when the camera changed the IP, the password seems to have defaulted to the standard password. But IE now won't let me change this password, nor access the camera. At least this appears to be the issue.
Fast forward to now, the IP now assigned is 192.168.0.4 which is fine. But when I try to access this in IE, I get this message:
"Access Error: Unauthorized
when trying to obtain /en/player/activex_hd.asp Access to this document requires a User ID"
I've tried everything I can think of to get IE working. Updates to latest V11, added IP to Compatibility View Settings, enabled all ActiveX controls, reset the browsing and password history, unchecked auto complete for passwords.
It's odd that this password box below is not popping up, so I can change the password. Image taken from another PC.
I upgraded my laptop software to win8.1. My webcam in the device manager looks to the integrated camera but webcam is not working. I tested by Dell PC Diagnostics shows my webcam is installed and its picture from camera showed but windows camera app and all app don't show anything.
I am totally unhappy about windows 8. Many good features from earlier windows are missing such as -
1) You can not pin "Calculator" to the task bar. In earlier versions you could open the calculator, over other windows. 2) While scrolling to folders / files in Explorer or any software, the screen jumps abruptly to up or down. 3) While transferring Images from camera. You can not select part images for transfer along with renaming. This feature was available in Windows XP.
I have downloaded, and, I think, disabled autoarrange. I am now able to rearrange the photos in a standard desktop file. However, it does not carry over to my photo gallery. There is probably a step I have failed to complete, but I can't find it.
I used to use Picasa to resize photos when I used Vista. From what I've read, Picasa and Windows 8 are not compatible. I'm looking for a way to resize photos that is free. Can I do it with what is already in Windows 8 or do I need to download software? One possibility seems to be pic resize.
