Nov 16, 2013When I try to run the client, it tells me that there is a connection error, and I should check my internet connection. Well obviously, just the fact that I am able to post this thread shows that my connection is fine. I would like to reinstall the client, but it doesn't even show up in control panel to uninstall it.

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode. This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Gaming :: ARMA 3 Crashing / Display Driver Error / Windows 8.1 AMD Radeon
Aug 1, 2014When I start A3, it boots up just fine, then when I try to start a campaign/showcase mission or Multiplayer server, the screen starts getting horizontal lines jumping on the screen/blurred blocks sometimes as well, and then my computer either freezes up or automatically restarts, sometimes I can close ARMA n goto desktop but that gets whacked out as well doing the same thing basically on my homescreen. It then proceeds to do the same thing to me when I'm just on the desktop trying to open Google Chrome or any other task for that matter, still getting the "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" in the bottom right corner of Windows.
I've literally tried everything regarding troubleshooting this matter and to no success: Updating Drivers/Windows, Tweaking Catalyst CC settings, Disabling Hibernation, Even Refreshing the PC (Windows 8.1), Booting in Safe Mode (MSConfig), scanned for Viruses, complete Reinstall of ARMA 3, ... This has been driving me crazy the last few days and cannot figure out for the life of me why it is doing this now?? ARMA 3 was running great the first 4 or 5 months I've had it and has never had issues like this, it seems it all started after trying to join a server Online and then it crashed and froze and has been doing this Display Driver Error stuff ever since (I did recently download new Mods as well).. Do complete PC Reset is necessary? I mean after the PC Refresh, my desktop and everything else was running amazingly fast and smooth, everything was up to date, I re-installed ARMA 3 and tried again to play this morning, sadly the same errors occurred and Lines are jumping all over my screen and everything is lagging. When I am trying to install the game using the AutoRun/EASetup I receive a message "Please insert CD/DVD in drive C:"
I have try to run it as administrator,troubleshot it and try it in compatible mode,run it in USB,CD,try to install it in save mode,open it with winrar,re-downloading direct X but ... no dice.

Sep 2, 2012I can't install the (Microsoft) Minesweeper-App from the store. My initial try to install the app was interrupted, and since then, every install hangs for quite some time ("Pending"), then ends with "This app is no longer available." or "This app wasn't installed."
I already tried deleting all caches and pieces from the failed first install attempt I could find, but that didn't work.

Gaming :: Freeze While Gaming - DSIM Commands Show No Errors Neither BSOD
Jun 17, 2014I am having some problems with 3 years old PC. Only while playing games (Civ 5 - Heroes & Generals - Rise of nations) I suffer from freeze/crashes, PC doesn't show a BSOD, the mouse pointer works normally it doesn't freeze (until I try to alt+tab or alt+ctrl+del), and from my speakers I can hear looping sounds.
The only thing I can do is a hard reboot. I try reinstalling windows, and the problem still exists.My BIOS, drivers* and OS are update, I perform a memtest for 6 hours and show no errors, I can run prime95 + kombustor and everything is fine, no temps problems, GPU never go over 68c and CPU at 58c, and no crashes.
DSIM commands show no errors neither.
*I tried latest NVIDIA drivers, and old ones, im actually using 334.89 version, and the problem persist.
Gaming :: Windows 8 64bit PC Going Off While Gaming
Jan 10, 2014Okay, this is the second time with a different game this is happening, at very specific points in the game, My Laptop's screen blacks out and goes off, the computer stays on with lights and stuff but the screen just stays off like when you put off a pc but the fans keep running, I then have to forcefully power my pc off to put off the entire system.
I don't think this has anything to do with my Laptop's temperature as I've just had the vents and heat sinks ventilated recently, also cause the laptop goes off at just one scene in a particular mission in both games, Assassins Creed and Far Cry 3.
I don't think its my PC's specs either cause I went through the requirements of these games before getting them. I've not been able to go past the stages in the game where my PC goes off.
My Laptop's specs:
HP Envy M6-1105DX : AMD A10-4600M 2.3GHz, 6GB RAM, Windows 8, 64-bit.

Jun 23, 2014When I search for updates with windows update it finds the drivers I want but it gives me an error message whenever I try to install them.
I already tried downloading the latest windows update (when I install it, it says the update was succesful and asks me to restart, but when I search again after restarting the update shows up again and lets me install it again).
I also tried deleting and renaming my software distribution folder and using the windows troubleshooting program.
Overall I'm not really too fussed about most of the things it's trying to install apart from the drivers for the wireless reciever for my xbox controller as it won't work without them. When I try to install the driver files through device manager it gives me this error message
my main reason for mentioning the windows update problem is that I assume the problems are linked as the wireless reciever works perfectly on my laptop. Up to about a week ago it also worked perfectly on this computer using the same usb port that it uses now.
As you can see, on the 19th, it suddenly began to say "NULL DRIVER". I checked my system restore and it tells me that I installed a windows update on that day just before it suddenly stopped working. I tried reverting back to this restore point (before the update) and nothing had changed, the device still would not work.

Jun 19, 2014So my windows 8.1 installation became corrupted, so I backed up data and did a clean install after deleting all partitions.
After the install on the first boot, right after the process of "installing apps", it showed an error message saying an error occurred causing windows to restart, and created a memory.dmp file.
I just want to make sure this installation is stable before continuing to update to 8.1, especially after my previous issues. There are also some errors in the event log that I don't understand.
The errors came after install of Windows 8, as that was the key I had.

Aug 28, 2014I upgraded my HP windows 7 pre-installed to windows 8.01. I tried ubuntu 13 using wubi then i removed it but once I switch on my pc , I get windows 8.01 then ubunto( which fails to boot due to windows boot error) I kept booting windows 8.01 that was working fine till I installed ubuntu 14.04 after I left an allocated partition for it to install. I made manual partition using the free space and installed ububtu. After installation, I did not find grub and I got black screen: windows fails to start ; oxc000001. after I used boot repair cd, I fixed my ubuntu and brought back grub. now the situation is I find grub 2 with ubuntu that I can access but the windows 8.01 load is not working. All my files are in windows. how to get windows 8.01 back to boot? I tried repair disc but it did not fix it stating disk error and partition drive missing.

But I ran into 0x800f0922 error code and I couldnt install them. (I run Windows 8.1 Pro) I was trying to install Adobe Photoshop but couldnt continue cuz .NET framework 3.5 was required. Mar 26, 2014I got a 4tb sshd, plugged into a pc and activated it and split into 2 partitions, 1tb for windows and 3tb for other stuff. Tried installing windows on the 1tb partition and it gives me error saying they couldn't install windows on this location, here's more info: 0x80300002.
What does this error code mean?
Btw my old drive failed after a bad day I pushed power button while it was slowly about to give an error after I pushed power button the night before that it was taking really long to turn off.

Dec 27, 2012I bought a new SSD and want to do a clean install on it, however am having problems during the install process and receive the following message:
Windows 8 cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007025d
The install images was downloaded from the Microsoft website and I have tried using a USB thumb drive and DVD install disc and both receive the same error. I have used the DVD disc when I originally installed Windows 8 Pro on the same desktop but on an IDE harddrive and believe the disc should still work (i.e. no scratches on it).
Here's how I prepared to install:
1. Unplugged all harddrives except for brand new SSD (Crucial M4 128 GB SSD)
2. Changed bios settings to AHCI (before was on IDE) (using Asus P5k-V motherboard)
I'm not sure what's going on if the harddrive is corrupt, the bios settings need to be tweaked, the drive is incompatible with my motherboard or something else.
I don't want to go back to using the IDE drive to boot windows but rather use the new SSD.

Sep 15, 2014Ive just done a clean installation of Windows 8. I checked device manager straight away. There was a listing under Other Devices with an exclamation mark listed only as "Media". Ive never seen that before so I havent a clue what it referred to. When I clicked on its properties it said Internal High Definition Audi Bus. Was this a serious issue..maybe a corrupted installation?
I wasn't sure what to do but because I had installed from Windows CD and not factory image I had to go to the Dell site and then install the Intel Chipset software. I then rebooted. The Media icon and exclamation error then disappeared from Device Manager.
Was it the Reboot of my PC that got rid of it or was it the Intel Chipset software being installed that sorted it out? Also what is "Media" referring to or is it just a generic term? Also, Im always confused as to what is the difference between an exclamation mark and the blue question mark on a white background in Device Manager which Ive seen before too?

My question is what role does my CPU play in gaming? Is it a big thing? I always thought that having a strong, powerful graphics card was more important that a powerful CPU.

Jan 5, 2014I recently built a rig (spec below) and originally installed windows 7.
I decided today I would install windows 8.1 as I get it for free from my university. I booted the installation disc in EFI mode, wiped the SSD and deleted all partitions. I let windows create the partitions it needs and proceeded to install.
The installation got up to 2% in expanding windows files and showed error:
Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x800070570.
I rebooted and tried again several times and the same thing happened whether I chose EFI cd boot or not.
I then reinstalled windows 7 without any issues, and downloaded an 8.1 pro disc image from mydigitallife. The installation got a little further into expanding windows files, but the same error came up again.
Ive been reading that it may be a memory issue so i'm the process of reinstalling windows 7 and running memtest86+, but I doubt this is the case as its a mew system and windows 7 has no trouble

Jul 24, 2014 Host OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on SSD system disk. PC Specs: Intel Core i7 3770K on ASRock Z77 OC Formula with 16GB DDR3, GTX470 VirtualBox version: 4.3.12 r93733 with Extension Pack 4.3.12 r93733.
I've had a Windows 8.1 Pro x64 VM running on VBox 4.3 for a few days now with no issues at all.
However, this morning, the VM refused to boot saying VT-x was not enabled.
I checked via the VM settings but the whole "Acceleration" pane was disabled and not accessible. I was not able to resolve the issue even after rebooting my PC and explicitly enabling Intel Virtualization in the PC BIOS (it was on AUTO before - I set it to ENABLE).
I have since several times removed the VM completely and attempted to reinstall.
Every time, the VM hangs on the Windows 8 logo screen on install and then crashes with the Error 0x000000C4.
As found on VirtualBox community forums and on other sites, I have tried the SETEXTRADATA command via command prompt running as administrator, and have confirmed that the .vbox file has been changed and the string ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/CPUM/CMPXCHG16B" value="1" appended in the <ExtraData> section.
However the VM still refuses to boot or reinstall. I have Ubuntu, Fedora and ZorinOS VM's all working perfectly.
The only change to my system that took place in the interim was that I installed Comodo Free Firewall last night. Seeing the problems I have been having with the VM since this morning, I uninstalled Comodo and rebooted thinking it might have something to do with my problems, but still no joy.
I am also uploading my .VBOX files before and after to show the changes that have been made by the SETEXTRADATA command.

During install, I get this about 10 seconds after the ugly fish appears during install.
I'll burn a DVD and try it but much prefer a flash drive for install.
