Dell :: DUSB For Windows 8 - Error Loading Operating Files
Mar 23, 2013
I have a DUSB for windows 8. When i try to use it, gives a error message error loading operating files. I have disabled the secure boot and enabled the boot option to legacy and when loaded to F12 it gives option usb mass storage and when select that its gives the error loading operating files.
So I recently got my brand new Alienware X51 with Win8 pre-installed. Everything went well and I have had no issues until our apartment got a black-out and my PC decided to die. When the power was back on, I tried turning it on, but instead got an error message. Here as follows:
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a requested file is missing or contains content errors.
File:windowssystem32windload.efi
Error code: 0xc0000001
Also I need to mention that I did NOT get any Recovery CD/DVD with the pc itself. What should I do??
I have an old Dell Latitude 100l laptop, with XP installed. I use it for University work. Now I've was able to download from Uni a copy of Windows 8.1, as an ISO image onto a DVD disc.
When i try and boot to the disc, it says "loading files"........and after a while i just get a black screen.
Is this because I cannot load Windows 8.1 onto my Dell laptop?
If I'll be able to downgrade the Dell Inspiron i660s-3848BK to Windows 7? It ships with Windows 8 in a bundle through Walmart. My workplace already has the software and several additional licenses available for Windows 7 Enterprise.
I've been reading about how the BIOS will need to be changed. Dell Support doesn't show the i660s as one of those computers that can be downgraded.
I reinstalled windows 8.1 on my Samsung NP530U3C-A10EE. And now the problem this that I can't boot it without usb stick that contains windows installation files. I can boot up windows and remove the usb stick evertything is working perfectly, but if I try to boot up win without usb, it gives error "Operating system not found. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart". VOLUME C: is one where windows are installed (SSD), System Reserved is the system partition that windows create automaticaly (SSD), volumes D: and F: are my hdd volumes D: is empty & F: is stored with my personal files (photos, music etc.)
I have a Dell XPS 420 and I've just bought an SSD for it. Every time I boot the machine I see "Operating system wasn't found" now, despite having booted into Windows successfully just before.
The only change I made was connecting a standard SATA 2TB drive - which it boots into fine - but now when I have removed the 2TB drive I cannot boot onto the SSD.
Protected Operating System Files are appearing without uncheck hide Protected Operating System Files in Folder option:-
In my Local Disk C: System Volume Information is not hide when i check hide Protected Operating System Files in Folder option. How to assign Protected Operating System of this folder.
When loading windows 8 pro the process appears to hang up about half way through - updates and features... The mouse moves and you can cancel , however the cancel never finishes... I' have disconnected all peripherals and obtain the same result.
Randomly today my computer decided it did not want to boot. It originally had a different error code, but I found a tutorial on how to fix it, I followed the tutorial and my problem stayed the same but my error code changed. Basically something is wrong with my boot sector.
The initial code was 0xc0000225 and I used this tutorial to solve it: Solution to your PC needs to be repaired Error code: 0xc0000225
After that I got the new error: 0xc0000001. I have tried rebuilding the BCD, I have tried fixing the master boot record. I even started to go as far as to do a system "refresh" but windows told me that the HDD was locked and I have to unlock it to do a refresh, which Id much rather not do. When I tried to rebuild the BCD it detected my OS but when I told it to add it to the boot list it says "The requested system device cannot be found".
The weirdest thing is everywhere I look I am told to use the windows startup settings but they are totally missing from the menu. I booted to my bootable Windows 8 64 bit flash drive, selected repair my computer, then selected troubleshoot and advanced options and the only things that are available are system restore, system image recovery, automatic repair and command prompt. right under command prompt is where startup settings should be. I cant reformat because I have a lot of stuff that would take forever to get back like music etc.
Automatic repair didnt do anything. Safe mode does not boot either.
Laptop specs: Asus VivoBook s500ca Windows 8.1 Professional 8 gig of ram intel i7 processor HD 4000 graphics 500 gig HDD + 24 gig SSD (setup as cache)
I am having a strange issue with my Windows 8.1 where every time I click on an app aside from store (games, project spark, Despicable Me etc) it comes up for 3-5 seconds before minimizing with the icons on the desktop. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit Professional, an Nvidia Geforce GT545 with 3GB VRAM, 16GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Core I7 3.2GHZ quad core processor and Intel HD Integrated Audio.
while i am trying to update my windows 8 single language from the windows store after downloading all the important updates then also it provide this kind of error. here by i am adding the screenshot of the error message. i have also disable antiviruss and firewall
I recently had to do a system restore through the Dell System Restore programme, however now it appears I cannot activate Windows 8 - I get the "Windows cannot activate right now. Try activating Windows later".
I have tried entering manually through a command prompt but all I get is an error 0x8004F80B. How to resolve this?
I am running windows 8 on a dell xps pc. I have 2 large 3tb and 4tb external seagate drives. After a day or so they lose part of the connection. You can see the drive and folders a couple of levels deep but you can't see files. If you unplug and start again everything is there. On other machines it's not a problem. When you try to eject usb hardware it displays that something is accessing the device. So it's not the drive, it's a driver or something else.
In july 2013 I have installed windows 7 (because of s/w that I had to use and were not supported by windows 8) on my Dell Inspiron (Service Tag DYGGMV1, I know its out of warranty) and was guided by dell support and was assured that I will be able to again install windows 8 with recovery media, and when I requested for Windows 8 setup CD and key I was told its not needed as I have recovery media with me. Now I am willing to shift to windows 8 again but recovery media is showing error ( error 0x4001100200001005).
I can seem to delete or empty the file of my deleted or junk emails. I can individually do them by clicking the trash button, but then they go to the trash and I can empty that unless I go through each one. I don't have time to do this on 50-100 emails a day! I can empty through outlook but they are still in my windows 8 mail!
I have a Dell XPS 18 portable all-in-one machine that came with Windows 8, then I updated it to Windows 8.1 without any problems. It caught a nasty virus and I had to restore it to factory settings, which leaves me back at Windows 8.
I have tried multiple times to install the Windows 8.1 update through the Microsoft Store but keep getting Error Code 0xC1900101-0x40017. I have tried the following but get the same result;
Ran all of Windows Updates that would come up Verified that all drivers were up to date. My video driver is NOT a Nvidia but an Intel. I've seen posts stating that this driver needs to be updated in order to fix the problem. Ran Selective Start Up
I'm experiencing a problem after installing Windows 8 on Dell Inspiron N7110.
When I leave my laptop on for a while, it restarts because of a blue screen with the error: 0x00000050; PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA
It only happens when the laptop isn't used but is still on. When I'm working on it this error doesn't occur.
I checked RAM and HDD with Dell Support Center PC Checkup (even RAM stress test) and it shows no errors. Besides the HDD is new, as my old one broke and Dell replaced it.
I updated all my drivers from Dell's Website, so they all supported by windows 8.
I have Windows 8 [haven't upgraded to Windows 8.1 yet] and the past few days I am having ALL kinds of problems.
[1] My ability to drag and drop files and folders is no longer working. [2] Things are opening on one click, even though I disabled that feature and set it for double clicking only [3] I can't grab and move windows that are open, it won't allow me to do that. [4] I also just noticed that a lot of programs that have a drop box, when I click on them, it doesn't drop the box, it just blinks down and then off...so you can't select anything.
I'm not getting any error messages. I tried the two things listed as far as registry editing...but the one that shows the drag and drop isn't even in my registry editor anymore....so I can't change it from 0 to 1 -- it's no longer there.
Also I tried to follow another suggestion [thinking it might be a virus] which stated to shut down windows restore first. When I did that it deleted all previous restorations so I can't even go ahead and try to restore.
Lastly, I do have an ongoing antivirus and spyware...both of which I run on a daily basis....
Ever since I installed Windows 8 (and now Windows 8.1 Pro Preview Build 9431), I hear occasional buzzing sounds while playing .mp3 files on my desktop computer (Dell XPS 8500). This occurs using both iTunes and Winamp. The .mp3 files play fine on other devices, such as my iPod. This makes me suspect that this is a Windows problem.
I have a Dell XPS 15 running windows 8.1pro. Has HDD and Ram Drive
After recent upgrades to 8.1 I am now unable to access the system. On power up goes to password ok Once entered screen goes black, eventually goes blue and tells me I have no apps.
If I look at task manager there is no activity on the SSD drive (don't know if that's relevant).
There was a similar issue when I received the system new from Dell but I can't remember the fix
I bought a new SSD and want to do a clean install on it, however am having problems during the install process and receive the following message:
Windows 8 cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007025d The install images was downloaded from the Microsoft website and I have tried using a USB thumb drive and DVD install disc and both receive the same error. I have used the DVD disc when I originally installed Windows 8 Pro on the same desktop but on an IDE harddrive and believe the disc should still work (i.e. no scratches on it).
Here's how I prepared to install:
1. Unplugged all harddrives except for brand new SSD (Crucial M4 128 GB SSD) 2. Changed bios settings to AHCI (before was on IDE) (using Asus P5k-V motherboard)
I'm not sure what's going on if the harddrive is corrupt, the bios settings need to be tweaked, the drive is incompatible with my motherboard or something else.
I don't want to go back to using the IDE drive to boot windows but rather use the new SSD.
Whenever, I try double-clicking an Excel file in Windows Explorer, I get an error message that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program." I tried Microsoft's solution of unchecking the box under options that says "Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)" but it was already unchecked. I checked it and unchecked it and I'm still having the problem. This is using Excel 2013 with Windows 8.1 64-bit.
We use nothing but Dell at work..the software we use (Progress) was installed on Win XP computers which we are replacing with new units We have Progress working on several Win 7 Pro pc's and one Win 8 Enterprise pc..so we bought an all-in-one Inspiron 2330 with Win 8...can't join a domain so we downloaded a 8 Pro upgrade..we install Progress as administrators and it appears to install correctly but it won't open..we even put Win 7 Pro on the 2330 loaded all the right drivers, installed Progress and it still won't open...so 2 different versions of Windows are working Progress on other Dell pc's but it won't work on the 2330...what am I missing here? Is there a bios setting because it seems to be the pc...
I wanted to restore my laptop back to factory settings before passing on to a friend, but when running the DataSafe restore software something went wrong and the laptop will no longer boot...doesn't seem to recognise that the hard disk is there.
BIOS settings recognise the disk and going into Boot Options (F12) I can get to diagnostics which gets as far as the memory tests then the processor overheats and the laptop shuts down (which was why I got a new laptop in the first place!)
Fortunately (I thought) I have the Recovery DVD that I created when first used the laptop, that boots fine and but when try to restore to factory settings it produces the error 0x400110020000100a as soon as the formatting screen comes up.
The laptop is an Inspiron N5010 if that makes any difference.
I have been trying (without success) to transfer my e-mail folder files from my old computer (Dell Inspiron 530 using Vista) to my new computer (Sony Vaio using Windows 8). The transfer is from Windows Mail to Windows Live Mail.
The recommended method on the old machine using a flash drive is as follows: File-Export-Messages-Microsoft Windows Mail-Select Folder (K:New Folder)-Next-Select Folders-Next. At this point the folders should transfer to the flash drive. Unfortunately I keep getting and error message that says that "Export did complete successfully and Windows Mail was unable to export all messages" - (in fact only a few messages were transferred) The message then goes onto say that " your disk may not have enough space (it is a 32GB flash drive and has more than enough space!) or that some messages may be corrupted. Run disk clean-up or delete some files and try again". I have done this without improvement. Another approach that was recommended was to find all of the e-mail files (.eml files) and copy them to the new computer via the flash drive. I can copy them to the flash drive without problem but am not sure how/where to import them into the C: drive of the new computer.
I have a new Dell Vostro 270MT running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. I'm having a problem in that the Metro Apps (Music, Pictures, etc) are not seeing any files on a second internal HDD.
I have gone into Windows Explorer and explicitly added the file location (e.. E:Music) to the relevant Library (e.g. My Music). When I click on the library, the files appear there and I can open them from within Windows Explorer (by selecting the file and choosing "Open with"). Individual music files will open with any of the installed programs including Music, Media Player or VLC. Similarly picture files are visible in Photo Viewer or Pictures.
But when I return to the Metro/Start screen and select the relevant app (e.g. Music) - no files appear.
If I copy a file across to the main library on C: - then the file will appear in the app. (But I want to keep all my data on a 2nd internal HDD rather than fill up my C: drive).
I have tried:
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the app - Explicitly setting the folder type to "Music" or "Pictures" or whatever is relevant, as well as keeping it as "General" - I have added the file to the library by (1) going into the library and adding it to the list of locations to be accessed, as well as (2) going to the E: drive, selecting the folder and adding it to the library
my laptop upon powering on i get an error message in the top left hand corner stating operator system not found or detected w/e also accessed bios screen via F2 and the HDD not found not to sure what HDD is i think its harddrive info would work. Anyways i purchased a five disk media restore which contains 1 system disk 3 part recovery media and 1 disc titled language. upon attempting to restore the loading gets hung up in the process also tried numerous times and sometimes wont even allow me to select a restore route.
I have a gateway laptop with windows 8 on it and need to use the recovery disks. When I put one it goes through the language and all that then it says switch to legacy bios mode, i do that and it says switch to uefi mode. I have gone thru this a thousand times now. what to do or how to do it. I know it has one other mode but I can't get it to that mode to try.
