I had my laptop for about a year now. The problem is after watching 3-4 videos, the sound will not work on the next file. I tried restarting and it worked! But after another 3-4 videos, there was no sound again. Another thing is when I open a music file, it works again. But the cycle just goes on.

I bought the plantronics .Audio 335 studio headphones, but when I plugged them in, it screwed up my sound. My compute'rs sound is now playing through both the headphones AND the laptop speakers. After unplugging it and trying again a couple times, I gave up and decided to just use my old headphones.
Except for the sound still played through both the headphones and laptop speakers.
Distraught, I restarted my computer. When that didn't work, I restored my system to a point I made yesterday. Still no luck. I've been scrounging google for a few hours now, and nothing is working. I REFUSE to refresh my system and reinstall all of my programs again.
I have been having an issue recently with my Windows 8 HP laptop where it'll just stop playing videos (whether if streamed through the internet such as you tube or if played on the actual computer as a downloaded video) or the sound for said videos just won't play. The problem can usually be temporarily fixed by restarting my computer but it gets annoying to restart my computer constantly because a video is not playing or the sound is not working so I am trying to see if there is a permanent solution. Adobe flash player is up to date and the problem has been occurring before and after I updated flash player.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile playing a video or games or any app that has sound... the sound suddenly disappears if it is too loud. At first I thought it might be the driver... so i replaced HD Audio with Conexant... but the problem still persists, which lead me to believe that it could be probably the speaker's problem.
But while tweaking around I found that if i quit the video or the game, the sound came back to normal. And also when the sound goes off,the green bar on the volume tray icon still keeps jumping up and down indicating sound output. Hence audio troubleshooter was of no use.
When i opened volume properties,playback devices (a video playing in the background where the sound had gone off),as i switched between the tabs in the dialog box (playbackrecording,sounds,communincation) the sound came back! This cannot be due to the speaker.
I have reinstalled windows8, updated drivers and everything but no effect. What to do, as i cannot see movies or play games with speaker. Also headphones and external speakers have no problem whatsoever.
Latest version of Windows 8 This will take a while A few months ago Windows 8 quit producing sound through my speakers - overnight. I've tried a number of things I'll list here. Volume Control - red 'x' in bottom right corner. AMD HDMI OUTPUT and HEADPHONES are checked. Troubleshooting Speakers/headphones produces "doesn't appear to be plugged in' - they are. See next sentence. Potential issues that were checked. Check audio device issue not present one or more audio services isn't running issue not present audio device is disabled issue not present I can plug the speakers into a Vista PC and hear music so I know(?) the speakers and cable are plugged in and OK. Device Manager>Sound,Video and Game Controls>AMD High Definition Audio Device = device is working properly. Using most recent driver - Rollback is disabled. I have two sets of audio inputs on the back of my PC. Tried them both (have always used the top ones). Someone suggested checking my sound card - don't know how to do that. One last thing . . . I found an MS article telling me to disable/enable the AMD. Did that but as soon as I disabled it, it disappeared.

They switched out my prosessor, but now i got no sound. The computer came back with a clean install of win 8.1.
Added a screenshot showing drivers and that sound is "playing"...
Whenever I unplug the speakers jack and plug in the headphones, the sound stops! I have to restart the application or run another one and then the sound is back. This is really silly and takes time especially when you need to restart some game.

One part of the problem is what speakers I actually have built into the laptop and cannot look for the proper drivers to potentially fix this issue. The other part of the problem lies with windows 8 itself.
Whenever sound comes out of my speakers, (there only being a total of 2 speakers) it only comes out of one of the two speakers at a time. THIS IS CAUSING THE SOUND QUALITY TO BE COMPLETELY TERRIBLE. How to make ALL audio come out of both speakers at the same time.
Just set up new asus essentio series desktop with windows 8.1. After initial set up the monitor speakers are on but no the connected external speakers. I assume I need to make some change in the control panel. Is that true. I want sound to come through external speakers.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire V5 laptop.It has a celeron cpu,and is a basic small laptop. I listen to video news online,and i have not installed or uninstalled any software prior to the problem of no sound in videos since it last played back video with sound.
I have tried to play the same video on firefox and internet explorer,and there was no sound,only video. The browsers are using FlashPlayer as far as I know.And the speakers (realtech are the default speakers-found in the control panel/sound.Is there another sound setting? The sound card works as skype works.
The volume link is not available on the video played in both browsers.And the mute button is available in IE but not in Firefox,but it is not muted(as I have checked). And the volume which is accessed from the bottom right hands side of windows is at max.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs the title says, I've tried connecting my TV to my computer with an HDMI cable, and the video part works, but no sound plays. When I checked the list of playback devices, the TV appeared (as shown below), but it apparently cannot play sound.
I don't think I know anything beyond what I've posted,
Also, as a side note - I am completely unable to interact with any of these objects - I cannot set something as a default device; there is no response when I do it, and disabling the audio device only works until current sources of sound (like videos) are restarted.

View 4 Replies View Related the laptop is a ASUS K55A and originally came with windows 8. I've tried updating the drivers once the 8.1 version came out but the problem keeps recurring.
See what'll happen is, I can be watching a tv show or movie and once it's over or even if I pause it for say 10 minutes, the sound will completely cut out. I won't know this until I resume or play another video. It happens every single time, I don't get it. My only remedy right now is to open the task manager and restart the audiosrv service for the sound to work again. The funny thing is, the video will play to the end and when it stops, then the sound dies so it's not every x minutes.
On top of this, the video can be playing just fine but if I want to play a random flash video and pause my show for a bit, the flash video will play for 2 seconds then stop.
When the audio is on, for videos, games, music, etc. it sometimes "skips" like an old cd player. Its pretty obnoxious, and I'm wondering why exactly this is so. I'm assuming I have an old driver or something, because I upgraded my pc from win 7 to win 8 pro.

I just bought a new pc and received it today, and i plugged my headset in to check if i hear audio from both speakers and headset but its not working. When i plug my headset in i only hear audio from my headset and not the speakers. Ive been googling and found something about it but with the newest realtek hd audio i dont have the Playback Device there, only the Recording Device. In this picture it has both the playback and recording device.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy friend connected an external monitor to his Sony laptop using an HDMI cable. The problem is that there is no audio from the external monitor speakers. The sound still comes out of the laptop speakers. When I look in Playback Devices, I see what appears to be the speakers as a device (can't remember exactly what is was called, but it was a somewhat vague name like "audio device"), and I've tried various settings, yet I can't get sound from the speakers.
So my question is, does an HDMI connection on a monitor support audio, or does he need to get a audio cable and use the green audio jack that is on the monitor, which I thought was just needed with the VGA connector.
When I play an Mpeg2 video file thru Media Player, its plays the sound fine, but there is not video. The video played with no problems with Media Player in Windows 7.
I have loaded VLC & the video played fine, but I like to use Media Player.
I just recently updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and now on IE11 some of the videos will not play on Youtube what should I do to fix this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I play videos on youtube, WMP, mplayer or adobe air/flash, video app or whatever, the entire display/screen moves to the left and leaves a black rectangle on the right side of the plasma TV (about one sixth the width of the display). It doesn't happen as soon as I launch the video, but happens when I exit the fullscreen or terminate the app/window and stays that way. The only way to reset it is to log off and log back in or restart the computer.
Mind you, it is not the apps/windows shifting to the left but the entire display, as if some one used the tv settings to move the display area to the left and so left part of the desktop and windows are cut off.
This is getting pretty annoying as keep switching to apps that display text such as VS, Notepad, browser etc in between while playing movies/videos. I can't read what is on the left side of the app window as it is not visible, I need to either resize the window or log out and log back in.
I am using Windows 8 x64 with latest updates and drivers (display and others).
I have windows 8.1 installed on my laptop and recently I can't play videos and audio's properly, it usually takes 30-40 seconds to load them up on my video players and sometimes the player hangs (mostly use Media Player Classic and VLC), it also happens with youtube videos as well, I haven't tried with other streaming sites. Those videos and audios I'm trying to play aren't necessarily large by the way, it happens with all of them as far as I know.
I am not experiencing any bad/lower performance other than that?

When I watch youtube videos, or videos in Windows Media Player Classic my audio randomly stutters. This also causes my mouse to stutter and skip and move slowly.

Okay so I haven't gotten a proper BSOD since the computer doesn't actually power down, the screen just goes black and the speakers play a buzzing sound. It doesn't happen too often and if it does it usually seems to be within a few hours of turning the computer on (I leave it running unless I go away for a day or so). Seems to me the problem could be just about anything from the PSU to the GPU to the software.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have done several installations of Windows 8.1 and I am an average computer user level. The PC is clean and correct, updated drivers and zero waste on my computer. Only Steam Games and downloaded files.
The point is that I can not find the reason for these crashes. Sometimes I do not even blue bug jumps, it just hangs me and I have to trace the RESET button.
I think it happens always or usually watching some video (streaming or video file on my pc) but it has also happened in a game during some cinematic but I think also in the normal course of the game, not sure.

have Windows 8 64 bit. I have looked up this no sound problem on googgle and tried all recommendation to no avail. My audio card is not showing it has an issue. I have tried a headset and I am unable to hear any sound. I can play any videos on my computer but no sound. I can play YouTube on Chrome (no sound) but cant play YouTube in Firefox as it errors out This just happened this week - I don't know why. I don't remember downloading anything and I did not install any new software.
I had sizzling sound from my notebook speakers after i paired with my iphone 4 bluetooth. I am using that cuz of the hotspot thing. I cant use wifi hotspot cuz at my place i occasionally drop wifi connection from my cell phone cuz of the channel wifi uses. At the beginning i researched net very much and found out cuz of the phone channel is my problem.
Anyway in that hotspot after pair via bluetooth every video or mp3 or game sound starts like 10-15 second sound comes with sizzling, wheezy. After that maybe 1 hour or less it happens again. I am using last updates both win and bluetooth device.
