View 2 RepliesI'm on Windows 8.1 and have Microsoft Office 2007. I'm getting an update for Microsoft Office 2010 in Windows Update even though I haven't got this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Office Pro 2010 on my 32bit XP Pro desktop. If possible, I'd like to uninstall Offc Pro and install it on my laptop that is running Win 8.1. Can this be done?
My Office Pro is a valid download with key but I only downloaded the 32 bit version and have changed the key one time as the result of a support call to MS soon after installing it on my XP machine.
I have just got a new laptop with Windows 8 I have downloaded Office 2010 (as I don't have a CD) but when it loaded It gives me an option to open in verious apps but none of them allows me to install to the OS ....
View 4 Replies View RelatedDownloaded Office 2010 (had a disc but without driver wouldn't play). Used the key that came with the disc. Downloaded ok. I can find it in the apps, I can even have it open but when I try to open a Word file I receive in an email for example I get the screen that asks me to either buy it or if I already have it, to enter the key. Enter the key and it says it's not valid, but is the key I used to download.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to reinstall Office 2010 Home & Student to Windows 8.
It downloaded OK, but did not complete the installation.
No error code just said "Can't complete installation.
sometimes when testing new systems I have to install Office 2010 from scratch (I have a VL enterprise version so activation isn't an issue).
However Windows update then every time prompts for about 1.5GB of updates and fixed.
How to "slipstream" these into my office install disk - or at least store these updates manually so I don't have to keep downloading the same stuff over and over again.
I've just purchased Office 2013 as a stand alone on disk. Is it possible to set Word to open to a blank page by default as in Office 2010, instead of the selection menu of various pre-formatted pages?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate x86 to Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 5 months ago.
I installed Office 2013 Pro Plus 4 months ago, last 2 weeks I tried to uninstall it (for some bugs) but it didn't fully uninstall because of "Printer Spooler" service was not available (It was an issue but I resolved it last week). So I tried to uninstall but I didn't find Office 2013 in Add/Remove Programs, I never-minded and tried to install Office today, it was 99% finished but it rolls back and give me an error "Microsoft Professional Plus encountered an error during setup" and I click "Finished" then the setup says "Microsoft Bootstrapper has stopped working" so I read in the internet and people says that some registry keys is still there so I tried the Office 2013 Uninstall Fix-It program where it is here but it doesn't find anything! So I found a video on how to uninstall Office 2010 manually, and I used it on Office Pro Plus 2013 but nothing! I opened Event Viewer and found the Office 2013 log:
Fault bucket , type 0
Event Name: OfficeClassicSetup
Response: Not available
Cab Id: 0
[Code] .....
The log is found in the attachments!
I have Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 and I tried installing both Office 2013 Pro Plus x86 & x64 and in this log I used x64!
Office 2013 will not install on my computer. It starts going and at some point it just says there's an error and quits. It doesn't give me an error number or anything, it just stops. Here's a little context though:
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, and overall I've been very satisfied with the computer. However, it only came with a 128 GB SSD hard drive, so I decided to add another 128 GB SSD in the second hard drive slot. I got it in the computer and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. The only other thing I changed on my computer was to move the music library to the new hard drive. After adding the hard drive, I tried to use office some time later and it wouldn't work. I tried repairing it with the install disk, and it didn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it didn't work. It always just stops at some point as I said above. Is there a reason adding a hard drive or moving a library would effect Office?
I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 64-bit and Office 2010 Starter. There is a known issue that when you attempt to run the Windows 8 upgrade Assistant, it displays Office 2010 Starter as "Not Compatible". In order to correct this, you need to install an update (KB2553141). The problem is that even with the update installed, the upgrade assistant still points the Office 2010 as not compatible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was trying to record a macro in Office 2010 on my machine with Windows 8.1. I had my PERSONAL.XLSB file open at the time. I closed that file and when I when to record the macro to it the file was no longer listed. I tried to create a new file but I got an error message "Can not find the Start folder" and that was that. Where is the heck is the start folder. I believe it does not exist and 8.1 has issues with Office 2010. I had not luck with an An Access, so I though I'd try here.

Just bought an Acer S3 i3. Set up has taken me over 6 hours. 1st - major problems getting internet access - but having removed McAfee all seems ok.
I have two major problems:
1. Cursor will freeze ever few minutes causing the machine to hang. Only solution is to hold down power and restart.
2. Tried installing office 2010. Have downloaded set up file and inserted product key. Once installation completes and I try to launch a program I get an error message - c:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice14wwlib.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0x000012f.
Is it possible to install Microsoft Office Standard 2007 on Windows 8? If so then how? I have a physical disk and valid product key and I really don't have the money to buy a newer version of MS Office. When I try to install Microsoft Office Standard 2007 I enter the product key and hit continue, agree to the terms of the agreement, click continue then hit install now and it tries to install Microsoft Office Standard 2007, but after a few minutes I get this message:

how I can install the Office software and enter the license key code?
I've looked on the Start screen and cannot see any 'tiles' that are relevant, switched to the desktop and there are no icons and no Start button.
I have a MSI GS70 which I recently bought about two months ago. I have updated to windows 8.1. Whenever I try to open a document from USB drive that has the format associated with a microsoft office application I get a BSOD. I ran an SFC scan, and it came back clean. I can open up the files when I copy them over but when it comes to opening it from the USB I get the BSOD.

View 9 Replies View RelatedBackground: I have been using windows since 3.11 when I was in second grade and we got rid of our DOS box. I consider myself a proficient user to highly proficient user, having built 4 of my own machines. I have installed Office 2010 Professional and the program works.
Setup: Lenovo ideapad y500 purchased January 2013 with Windows 8
Problem: Windows will not allow me to set Word 2010 as my default program for opening .docx or other valid formats. I can open the documents from within the program, just not by default.
Steps Taken:
1) Right-click file > choose default program > Word 2010 not available > browse for and specify location > set program to default. Result = System Message "This app can't run on your pc."
2) Consulted Microsoft support site to search for solution. Same result.
Desired Resolution: how to set that default application. All of you who read this are also annoyed with Microsoft's awful customer service.
I retired from HP last week and I have my Outlook .OST file that I can't figure out how to view on my new PC, which also has Outlook 2010 pointed to my Gmail account
How can I view all the emails in the .ost file?
I have Windows 8, Office 2010 and a 64 bit HP PC.
I made a small Emgu apllication in Visual C# Express 2010. It can works fine in Win XP PC's. But doesn't run on Windows 8. I compiled the progam in .net framework 3.5 and in 4.0 and modifiy the Myexecutable.exe.config adding <supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>.
But program doesn't start, just show a message that the program doesn't work. I tried it in Windows XP compatibility mode but nothing.
I am having issues with Office 365... and frankly I would never sign up for a subscription service, but I got a great deal since I am a student on a multi-year subscription. I don't think my issue is subscription related, but is related to the office products.
I am running Windows 8.1 with all of the high priority updates installed, on my Acer Aspire desktop system with a I3 processor, maxed out memory, an SSD for OS/programs, and the original HDD for most data. The system came with Windows 7, and was upgraded to 8 shortly after I bought it, then 8.1 when it became available. I believe that the Windows 8 was loaded from DVD I burned as part of installing the SSD, and was a clean install. I mention this all in case there is some potential unedrlying issue based on the upgrade path.
I am running Avast (paid version) which runs clean when I scan.
The issue is that every office program I have tried fails almost immediately, when I either open a document, or if I select a document in Windows Explorer.
I have uninstalled Office completely then reinstalled.
Then I uninstalled, removed application's directory, cleaned a couple of registry keys manually, then reinstalled.
I have only installed one app that I can recall since the last time the office products worked for me, and that is Quicken Willmaker 2014. I have printed my will, so I will be uninstalling to see if it matters. Since it worked, I don't recall any Office related updates being downloaded.
Whether or not that program removal solves the issue, I plan to download and try CCleaner...
One other possible issue. It has always been flaky for me, but my IE 11 seems even more finicky than usual... This might be unrelated, or in my head, but I thought I would mention it in case it is relevant. I have not noticed any issues with other applications or functions.
Anything obvious that I am missing or that I should add to my to-do list?
So I just reinstalled World 2010, and now I seem to have some dark boarder around my page.
I don't think it used to be there back in the day? What it is and how to get rid of it?
Is it possible to change the default for this message box so that next time I hit enter without reading what the message says I don't lose my work?
I just did this rather foolishly and it would be nice if the default was to save the recovered files not to delete them.
I want to Delete Blank Spaces between Text in Ms Word 2010 but the Backspace feature is not able to perform this....

I recently had to update a second computer's emails from another computer, both having Windows 8.1 and Office Professional--or sync them. So I exported all three .pst accounts in Outlook 2010 from computer 1 and imported all of them into computer 2 into Outlook 2010. Well, I didn't notice that there was a Duplicate setting (probably because I don't normally do this) and left the Import setting concerning duplicates at the default setting, so I got a lot of duplicates. Since then, I have received more emails into my accounts at computer 2. What is the best way to fix the duplicate issue?
Also, I noticed that many Sent folders were missing in one Imported account for some reason. Why would just some of the emails be Imported and not others? This is bad! If it wasn't for this, I could send an important email today. How can I make sure that all of the emails on computer 1 get Imported onto Computer 2? All too often, I find glitches in MS software.
