Apps / Software :: PDF Touch Send To OneNote Win 8
Feb 26, 2013
We're running Dell XPS12's and use them as i guess they were intended for both laptop and tablet functionality. We have a number of PDF docs that we regularly use when assessing our clients and now (PDF Touch) can write on the PDF docs and save them into our clients folders. Unfortunately though, when trying to print the PDF's we only have a couple of options, one of which is to 'Send to OneNote 2010.' This works fine, but we want to be able to send to OneNote Windows 8 (or whatever the new app is called).
How to change the settings/delete the 2010 version/enable the 'send to OneNote Win 8'?

I recently subscribed to Office 365, which includes OneNote 2013. Then I decided to go to the Windows Store and try that version of OneNote, however I can't find it listed. This particular machine is running Windows 8.1 Pro with the recent update. While looking in the Windows Store, I listed apps installed on another machine running the also running Windows 8.1 Pro, but OneNote is not listed as installed on the second machine. So I fired up the second machine, to see if OneNote for Windows Store was installed, and sure enough it is installed.
The first machine has Office 365 installed, while the second machine does not. It appears as though I can't install OneNote 2013 for Desktop and OneNote for Windows Store one the same machine. Yet I very much want to try the two versions side-by-side.
why I can't install OneNote from Windows Store on this machine?

At my school we use OneNote all the time (projecting onto the board) to do class notes, with the students either taking them down during the lesson or just sitting back and watching and getting them off the school site later. One of the great features in OneNote has always been the Windows+S hotkey that allows you to capture part of the screen and paste it into your notes. This allows us to paste in captures from texts, websites and other software and annotate it. For example, if you're teaching trig on the unit circle the you can run software to demo it and capture and paste into the notes. Or if a student's having problems with the homework you can capture from the textbook (most come as a PDF these days), paste into OneNote and then demo the solution.
The problem is that in Windows 8 the Windows+S hotkey combo is a system command used to provide a shortcut to the Windows search command. So far this is only impacting me because I'm trialling Windows 8 while everyone else is still on Windows 7.
Can you disable the Windows+S system command so that it can continue to be a OneNote hotkey? I don't want to lose the Windows+S capture!

I downloaded months ago Onenote 2013 free onto my Win 8.1 laptop.
I wanted to use Onenote like I did when I had 'Evernote' installed such as being able to send information to Onenote by right clicking and easily sending it that way, but it never worked as easily as 'Evernote'.
I'm sidetracking: I clicked on 'Onenote' and it said it was 'corrupted and unreadable'.
As I don't use the installed 'Onenote' on my laptop I decided to uninstall it using 'Advanced uninstaller pro 11'.
'Advanced uninstaller pro 11' looked for leftover files in the registry and it found over 400!
That is the most that has ever been found for any program I have uninstalled before and am worried about deleting these registry which have been found.
I don't want to leave all these registry behind but I don't know if all of them are safe to remove.
Does Microsoft have a 'Onenote 2013 free' uninstall tool?

Are the encrypted pages in a OneNote 2013 notebook safe to place things like credit card info?
The notebook will be on the PC, iPad, Windows Phone, and in OneDrive.
Is it better/safer to have a passworded Word file?

I have Onenote installed on my Windows 8.1 laptop.
Is it possible to right click a text document (or any file/document) saved on my laptop and have it sent to Onenote.
Onenote does not show when I right click a text document.
I have used Evernote before and I'm sure I could do this.
Perhaps it is possible but Onenote does it in a different way?

Still broken. FAX send will hang/redial. Didn't work in 8.1PV - may have functioned in 8.
The problem is FXST30.dll. Replacing it with the Windows 7 copy resolves it. This may require taking ownership.

So I have a pdf that needs to be faxed to a certain fax number.
Is there something in Windows 8, Skype, Office 2013, that can do it? Or maybe a good app that can be installed?

Is there a app or a website or something that can send large files?
So I have about a dozen files that I want to send to a friend in another state. Ranging from about 100 MB to 5 GB. The total of all the files together is roughly 26 GB. One Drive won't let me upload anything over 4 GB. Plus it takes forever.
What I can use to send all these files?
I was looking into this. I don't know how good it is though: Firedrive | Free Cloud Storage for Everyone

So there's my start screen and as you can see, the only program that is not Windows' built-in is Skype but actually I've installed several programs. The problem is, the installed programs don't appear on the start screen, like what windows 8.0 did. They showed on the app screen. My windows is MSDN 8.1 Pro.
How to set all installed programs to appear on start screen?

I have no problem syncing in a W7 environment but if I do it in Windows 8.1 it fails.
Using the Onenote Metro App (also installed locally) it works.
Can it be fixed? I much prefer the complete MS Onenote 2010 than the Metro App.

I just bought a new HP computer. Came with 8.1 and IE 11. Recently had windows XP pro, worked fine but needed to get a new machine. Anyway, lost outlook express, took a while to figure out to add windows live mail and set it as default, so now the "icon" in IE 11 works. Yahoo mail is my main guy but couldn't get it to set as default, although my Yahoo still works. So back to the issue, in IE 11, if I click on "File" / Sent, the "sent to" is greyed out and thus it won't work.
Computer is really slow, that will be the next challenge and what stuff to safely uninstall.

my PC is running Windows 8.1
But when I right-click on an item, and point to Send to, it doesnt have Desktop (Shortcut) features
I followed some instruction on the internet (shell:sendto and create Desktop (create shortcut).desklink but it's still missing (
Now I realize that my Windows 8.1's version is a Lite version (using WinReducer8.1). Someone who create this version had removed Windows Mail (Send To Desktop Shortcut) so every solution on the Internet is impossible to solve. Finally I have to reinstall an offcial windows and STD is back

Due to my Windows XP ceased to being supported I have bought a new HP Pavilion 500-245ea desktop, intel core i5,6gb ram 2 TB Hard drive., with Windows 8.1 OS installed
I have tried and tried to send and receive emails with Outlook.com but I cannot get it to work, I have asked my 20 years old Grandson to have a go as well but without success, Outlook is now blocking every thing we try.
every thing else seems to be working fine and of course so much faster than my old computer.

Basically I have about 15 messages in my outbox that won't send and whenever I try to send a new message it just goes to the outbox. This has been going on for about a week (unfortunately I only noticed the day before yesterday!). (I'm using Windows 8 and Windows Mail - my account is a Gmail account)

In Win 7 it was easy to send a file(s) to E: or F: drives, both DVD writers (F: is Blu-ray). I am having a problem doing the same action in Windows 8. That is all I require at this stage no ISO etc. I do that with a separate program and burning files too. I am sure it can be done, with some arcane method or a few simple moves?

Windows 8 sucks big time. It reminds me of Win Millennium Edition. I have Outlook (actually all the Office Suite 2013).
In the Windows Explorer I cannot right click & send to an email. It just shows blank. And forget about reinstalling the whole thing, I don't buy that type of solution. Can't compute.
In Regedit, I have the same parameters shown above.
When I save & send using Excel 2013, Outlook just crashes.

I'm bravely tackling Windows 8 and am upset to find there is no button above web pages to 'send to mail recipient' or 'send link to mail recipient', which I found invaluable in XP.
The only way I could find to do it was create a shortcut on my desktop and then send that to a mail address but even that didn't work properly.

I log into it through 'google/talktalkmail otherwise using the mail icon it opens just like Hotmail and I have only my limited hotmail contacts. Where to access various settings etc. I do not have a 'start button' ...

I just bought an HP laptop last week and I am trying to learn about the features. I have spent 12 years with my old desktop with MSN as my provider using slow dial up.
I was surprised that my msn e-mail account was able to switch over to my laptop so easily, since Time Warner is my provider on the new laptop.
I can access the e-mails without a problem, but I can neither reply nor send e-mails.
Instead, I always get the pink writing beneath the e-mail address stating that " one or more e-mail addresses does not support this format sample@something.com. Yet all the formats are correct.
Why I can't send out anything?

How do I do that? I am brand new with Windows 8, outlook.com is my default mail program...whether I chose that I do not remember..I don't think I did.
If I'm using Chrome and the "email this page" feature or using IE 10 and using the "emial with windows live", neither of them sends a clickable link. Why not? Is this fixable?

I would firstly like to say that I am no computing expert ( quite the opposite actually) and I find Windows 8 extremely confusing. I have set up( eventually) Windows 8 mail to receive mail from an extra email address as well as the initial one e.g [URL], and [URL]. Now, while I can read incoming mail from both, if I reply to mail coming in on the second address, the reply shows up as originating from the first address. How I can reply to an email that came in to the second address with that same address as point of origin?
