View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to get "start a video call" to be an option. I've tried everything and nothing is working. I have a hp notebook with a lifecam webcam.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDuring a Skpe Video call, with myself and others, his video will freeze, then the Skype video will close and restart. This will occur periodically (and frequently). When it happens HIS SKYPE AUDIO IS UNINTERRUPTED.Now this was happening when he was running Vista. His setup (incomplete but I can get the rest...)
Windows 7 x64
HP Pavilion m9250f Quad
4GB RAM
Logitech Video Camera (C210?)
Hauppauge Tuner
Onboard Realtek Audio
Not sure what to look for on this one to narrow the field of possibilities down. I suspect a conflict in resources (interrupts, etc) but it could be something else.It is almost as if something is waking on schedule... "It's ALIVE!"He has tried an uninstall of the Logitech webcam and Skype and a "clean" re-install per Logitech's guidelines. No luck.Searched the internet. Lots of problems with Skype, et al, causing BSODs and/or system shutdowns, etc but could not find one where it was JUST the Skype video restarting while the audio remained connected and uninterrupted
Video Calls in MSN Messenger wont work on my laptop, it is an Acer Aspire One running Windows 7 Ultimate. It shows error code 0x8ac70013 which I have tried to find answers to online and haven't found anything which applies to my situation. I do not have MacAfee or Norton, I am using AVG antivirus. I have tried tweaking the Windows firewall permissions but it hasn't helped. It works just fine on my desktop, which is an old Dell with Windows XP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a newish HP notebook and I frequently use skype for voice and video chatting with friends and family; however, It recently has stopped working for no apparent reason. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I did notice that the webcam stopped working after I updated skype recently. The microphone also now works intermittently.. If I initiate a call with skype, my microphone will not work, but if I make a test call to the echo test service it works, and then works subsequently on my call afterwards. If I go to initiate any type of video exchange, a picture of youcam displays as my webcam image asking to start my webcam as seen here in this picture from my skype webcam settings This also shows when trying to use my webcam on chatroulette, omegle, etc. Here, when I start the youcam program itself I get this error message If I go to tools and settings in the youcam program (which I can only access when I start the program via skype?) I click the dropdown menu to select my webcam device but no options show.
Here is a picture of my device manager, which suddenly displays no evidence of the hardware, even after scanning for hardware changes. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with someone from HP support and got no where. They tried to remote connect to my computer using some sort of HP support software instead of windows remote connect. They could never connect and told me I need to backup everything on my computer and format it!? Does this sound normal? I said never mind and hung up, I figure there has to be an easier way to deal with this. Perhaps if I cannot find a solution here I will take that step but figured I would try here first.
My laptop is a HP dv7-6b55dx

The camera is either being used by another application or is not connected. Make sure the cam is connected and working properly."i have checked device manager imaging devices , there are no error symbol. Also the drive is up to date.My laptop is Sony Vaio and the model # is VPCEb33FM/BJ. dv6 i7 HP with a webcam that used to work great inside the house. Now, the screen is just about all black except for the dim outline of a light using the HP TrueVision HD cam. Machine came with Cyberlink YouCam 3.5 and I updated it to 5.0 and still same thing. I really don't want to have to use the USB webcam which works fine inside the house. I went to device manager and found the HP TrueVision HD driver and updated it and it says that I have the latest driver. Maybe I should delete this and re-install? I went to an SSD which runs well but according to them it messes up the entire system and I am a bad customer. The problem existed before the SSD and I really do not wish to deal with HP tech any longer. BTW the cam shows up outside so something is screwy and I cant put my finger on it. I have adjusted all the settings up down and everywhere in between then back to default which always worked well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an emachines em355 netbook with a Windows 7 professional in it. My webcam doesn't seem to work. I mean, it's working but i need a third-party application(Skype, webcam browser app like Neave) in order to use it. The device manager says it's installed and works just fine. How can i access my webcam directly? I saw other laptops and they have this webcam icon when you open My Computer. Mine doesn't have any. Also, I installed every available/recommended/compatible driver, each was installed perfectly but still, no direct access to webcam.
