Configure A Windows 7 Computer To Set The Default Proxy Settings By Machine?
May 11, 2012I'm trying to configure a Windows 7 computer to set the default proxy settings by machine and not by user. I've managed to find the policy in [HKEY_LOCAL_..."ProxySettingsPerUser" and when I set that to 0 it gives me the effect I want and doesn't force me to edit the settings for each user.Similar to the problem this guy: ProxySettingsPerUser had. The proxy settings are now supposedly given from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE area but after hours spent googling and trying to edit the proxy settings none of my attempts seemed to change it at all. where the computer searches for proxy settings when ProxySettingsPerUser is set to 0? I read that on XP it was the same place but in HKLM not HKCU but this does not seem to work in Windows 7.

I have 6 wireless computers on a home network. My wireless router has an input to accommodate a printer. Currently the printer is connected to computer 1 via USB and all the computers can print from the printer as long as computer #1 is turned on.
My question is how do I configure the printer through the router so that the other computers can use the printer without #1 computer being turned on?

Nov 21, 2009This is a very useful graphic viewing program, no longer in production, but which works fine under Windows 7. The problem is that setting it up requires the program to write some things to the registry, which apparently is being blocked, so I have to go through the settings every time I load it. In Vista I could make the settings permanent by switching User controls off while I set the program up. With Windows 7 I find that even with it set to minimum, Ember can't write the values.

When I try to share libraries and printers, printers is already checked, I check other options, like pictures, music, etc. I then click save changes and exit. Feb 24, 2011It is an HP Pavilion dm3 Entertainment PC running Windows 7 Home 64-Bit. The computer had several problems with it so I did a system restore that is built into a recovery partition. The install went fine, but then when it was loading in the 2nd time... it locked on Personalized Settings: Microsoft Windows Media Player. The problem I am having is that the laptop does not have a CD drive so I cannot put in a Windows 7 disc and run a chkdsk /r. I can log in to the machine if I go into safemode with networking.

Nothing solved it for me.
I have a dual LAN on my computer and two computers with Windows 7.
One Lan card is for internet and the other is for connecting via ethernet cable with the second computer. I can share internet and files with the two but I can't make the remote computer to join the Home group since it is connected to the unidentified network LAN card on my host computer.
How can I change the unidentified network to Home? sine it is actually home!
I configured static IP in order to share the internet and enabled the ICS.

I'm able to go to my Homegroup settings and CHECK the boxes for sharing video, pictures, doc.s, and music yet, When I Click save changes, it closes-out the window and when I view Settings once more.. they remain the same as before I changed them (stuck on only "Printers"). This goes for other HomeGroup Settings as well. I'v stopped and started the HomeGroup Services "Listener" and "Provider", but the Strange thing is that it is sharing those files in My HomeGroup.. just not realizing it is.. or sumthin?? Also tried Leaving HomeGroup, Rebooted, and Joined. idk, but more than likely has to do w/ the Home Premium version.. because the Ultimate edition is able to see this Home Premium Laptop as if I had my settings changed to share and stream music, etc.. the Home Premium can't see the Ultimate edition in the HomeGroup

Sep 23, 2012Now, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?
Will It Make Difference To Make Partition At Beginning Or End Of HDD
Jul 11, 2012I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive.Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance?My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....

Nov 28, 2011every time i boot up before it lets me sign on, a windows configuring comes on every single time for about to weeks now, and its taking about five minutes to boot up after. i do music and my editing programs and video programs and wmplayer now freeze and skip about every 7 to 10 seconds, making my work impossible.ive tired system restore but it wont let me create a earlier date, or go past the date of the nov 18 2011.before it was showing a black screen when i would boot up and would say" corrupt file sytem ntfs, said their was a corrupt file do to a recent update fail or installed, so i have went to windows and installed every update i could, now the black screen doesnt come on , but the freeze in my programs and media continues as well the boot up. but here whats wierd cuz if i watch videos online or listen to music online there is no freeze? just on when offline?
