View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem but i bought a new Dell laptop with the following specifications:
Dell Inspiron 15R
core i7 3.1GHz Turbo, 6MB cache
16GB DDR3 RAM
Geforce Gt525 1GB Graphics
Now the problem is that when the system is ideal it takes around 2.5 GB RAM usage. Even there is no running applications. Also I noticed that it's performance not that much. Is it normal?
Is it possible to change the order the things on the left hand pane of Windows Explorer?
I'd like to have my computer and it's drives up top, especiall on my netbook since vertical real estate is precious on it.
Desktop comp. is Windows 7 Pro x64, laptop is Windows 7 Home Premium x32. Login passwords are the same. Homegroup was set up on the desktop, the laptop then joined. Homegroup passwords are the same. Both are members of "Workgroup" and are set as "Home Networks." Settings are per "Homegroup - Add Computer or Join"
The Windows generated library on the desktop, "Pictures" has five different locations in it, from three different drives. The "Documents"library has four different locations from three different drives, and the "Music" library has three different locations from two different drives. All the desktop libraries work as expected on the desktop.
All libraries, drives and folders are shared, and "Everyone" has all rights.
The laptop sees the desktop, and the three shared libraries. But it sees only one of each desktop libraries' several locations, the one that is listed first in the properties of the library on the desktop.
I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment Laptop. Lately, when I start up my computer, Windows Explorer (Libraries) open automatically. I can close it out with no problem but find it annoying to see it on EVERY startup. I don't know if something happened during a HP or Windows update or if possibly picked up some spyware or malware somewhere. I ran scans with Avast anti-virus, Spybot S&D, and Malwarebytes with nothing serious showing up...just cookies.Everything seems to run properly with no problems but this showing up on startups/reboots, opens on safe mode also. I checked to see if anything in startup folder...Nothing. I checked msconfig settings...can't find anything unusual.[CODE]

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my computer slowing down and also freezing. This almost always happens within four or five minutes of starting to use it after an overnight standby. I will notice things starting to slow down and it sometimes reaches the point where it freezes. If I check Task Manager it will show the CPU usage as very high, 70, 80, 90%, and, if it is frozen, 100%. Task Manager also shows that Internet Explorer 9 is the program using the CPU. Is this malware calling home? The computer is a Dell GX620 with Windows 7 and 2 GB RAM and it's running Norton Internet Security.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently built a great system. It has the following specs:
Core i5 2500k 3.3GHz
Radeon HD 6790 1GB
8 GB of Corsair C9 kit of memory
PH67S-C43 (B3) motherboard from MSI.
Caviar Black 750gb
Greenpower 1TB
The only problem is, it runs very slowly in some applications such as Firefox and Minecraft. I've installed all drivers listed on the MSI website as well as my GPU drivers. Still no luck. I've installed Steam, microTorrent, Microsoft Security Essentials, Java (x64), Adobe Flash, and Adobe Reader X.
In my 'computer' - By that I mean the place where OS (:C) Is located and all - There is no more an option for removable media. Or removable storage. I run windows 7 home premium 64 bit.
So basicly no SD, Usb use to work. UNLESS I go to change driver letters and paths and then choose assign a letter and assign one but it only works for one time and then next time insert a different or same usb nothing happens. This is crazy. There is suppose to be a drop down bar in 'computer' but its just not there. Only hard drive disks drop down menu is there. And I have a asus laptop. U50 F Series.
The past couple of days i've been experiencing unusual behaviour from my computer. For the past few days I've been having crashing problems. The crashes aren't all the same however; on a handful of occasions it's given the famous old 'blue screen of death' and on others my computer either just turns off, or the whole computer just crashes. I've noticed the crashes only occur when I turn the computer to 'full peformance' mode after a couple of minutes meaning I'm literally unable to leave power save mode for more than 3 minutes.
I use 'EPU-4 Engine' to switch my computer between 'power save' mode and 'full peformance' mode only using full peformance if I want to play games or install something.
I didn't think much of this at start, as i've never had these problems before 2 days ago. I figured it may have been a faulty driver, so I downloaded specific ones for hardware, but that didn't solve the problem. I then tried a system restore to restore back to a previous date presuming it may have been an update that went wrong, but nothing changed, I still got the crashes.
I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition,
AMD Phenom II x4 964,
ATI 5850 Graphics card,
4 GB's of Ram
I have observed a significant change in my Windows 7 computer. This is not a hardware issue. I have not downloaded any files or programs lately which could have caused this difficulty. I have run NIS program, anti-spyware. and malware-bytes, to no avail. I cannot seem to run backup using Ease Us Todo Backup; program fails to function. It worked before. Windows Backup fails to give any indication that it is actually working.
It takes longer to start up. I have run "Start Up Repair" to no avail. It also takes longer to shut down (no updates are in progress). Certain programs such as the one to enable process of my digital camera photos, fail to work. There was no such problem in the past. When I attempt to use this program, a screen from uTorrent appears, even after I have removed uTorrent, and re-downloaded the camera software. I have tried "System Restore" to no avail.
Contrary to the instructions, I cannot choose my own 'restore point', but only from a list created by Windows. The standard Windows 7 repair programs have failed me. I have nowhere else to turn. I have considered a registry cleaner, but the advice on this program is mixed; half of the people say it worked for them, the other half say never screw with my registry. If I cannot even backup my files, I am screwed.
Keyboard and mouse drivers unaffected.USB Mass storage device properties messagewith driver check on:"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device."with driver check off:Tells me drivers are corrupt or missing.Search show diver where it should be:C:\Windows\System32\drivers\usbstor.sys (also usbfilter.sys).Used the HP Recovery Manager to restore factory setting for USBStor.sys, it indicates it is successful but no changeon reboot, still cannot use flash drives, SD cards, external HDs. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop computer, HP P6000 series Windows 7 SP1, that is acting a little strange after being stored for a few months. We moved out in April and I just reconnected it last week. Now, the only icons I have running in my system tray are the volume and the HP digital imaging icons. I should have more, like SkyDrive, Dropbox, and most annoyingly WiFi.I cannot connect to the internet at all on the computer anymore. I tried system restore to an earlier time when I know it was working, but it did not change anything. Ask any questions you may have, I know I haven't described this well, but it is unusual.

I am looking for a program which can effectively monitor the time a user spends on a computer, perhaps by looking at keystrokes/mouse movements, or something else...either way, I'd like to be able to compare the usage time on several computers. If I could monitor these times remotely, that would be great, but it is not necessary. It would also be great if rather than just saying "user x spend y time on the computer today", it would log it, so say between what times the user was active.

For example let's say from now until one month later I limit computer usage for one hour a day, since I decide and confirm my decision to the software it will be impossible to change my mind under any circumstances, until the time limit has expired. I know how to fix computer time. But I cannot find this software!!!!!! ALL software's are made for parental control (don't word on administrator account or changed easily) but I could find no program to limit computer addiction!
