Now the problem is that when the system is ideal it takes around 2.5 GB RAM usage. Even there is no running applications. Also I noticed that it's performance not that much. Is it normal?
I just installed windows 7 ultimate sp1 - Like the title says I'm seeing 35% cpu usage with nothing going on. I googled around and ran traces to see which driver it was, turned out the ahci driver was doing it. The USB driver showed similarly high latency but that can be delt with later. Most forums recommend upgrading your drivers but this problem has stayed constant both with microsoft's stock drivers for everything and after running windows built in search for drivers even after I manually grabbed the latest drivers for everything. url...BIOS is up to date4 GB RAM - Corsair something or otherEVGA Geforce 8800 GT450W psu1 DVD burner (sata)5 hard drives (sata) plugged into all but the first sata port because that caused nothing but headaches for me. Update - switching from AHCI to IDE in BIOS fixed the problem.
I have a ACER D255 netbook with intel atom N550 (1.5ghz, 1mb L2 cache) 1gb DDR3 memory and 250 gb hdd. lately it has been a tad slow and freezing up will using google chrome. my task manager says right now that CPU usage is 4% but Memory is at 75%, sometimes up to 90%. it also says that i have 89 processes running.
Since Jan-Feb of this year I have encountered the following issue while trying to play games on my laptop.
Abnormally High CPU Usage Extremely low FPS - After 5-20 Mins of play. Extremely High latency to servers - from 300 - 900 after 5 - 20 mins of play.
The thing is all of these started 1 year after I been using this laptop, after a full year of everything running flawlessly all these issues kicked in after I performed a clean install in Jan., I even performed one in Feb. and one 3 weeks ago
Here are my specs:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600 System Manufacturer Dell Inc. System Model Studio 1558 Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB Name ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series Adapter Description ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400 Series Adapter RAM 1.00 GB (1,073,741,824 bytes)
I reinstalled my OS (win 7 x64 ultimate). After that I launched my favourite game (lineage 2) and when I logged in game i experienced some freezes and lags, so I looked to task manager and I saw that l2.exe process eats like 40% of cpu per on window, my cpu isn't strong, but before reinstall it ate like 8% of cpu. Whats causing that game started to eat like 5x more cpu then before reinstall? I thought it can be caused by some drivers which might be installed with some other games in past.

I have a HP Pavillion Ddv6-3230us laptop. 2.4 GHz 4 GB ram, Windows 7 Home Edition.I bought it brand new in January and this morning I got a start up error after reopening the lid (it wasnt hibernating or turned off). I ran the start up recovery utility and it couldn't fix it. I did a sys restore, still couldn't fix it. I followed HP's system recovery tools and ran diagnostic tests and finally decided to perform a back-up and reformat back to factory settings. After the new install, I updated everything like java, installed AVG. When I try to talk on windows live messenger (my friend has their webcam on, not me) and try to stream a tv show or watch a video, everything starts crackling and freezing. I have gotten the error High CPU Performance from audiodg.exe. I searched for an answer and turned off all enhancements under playback devices.
I'm having a problem with my CPU after I did a clean installation of Windows. Any time I put my CPU under any stress, major or not, my CPU runs at 100% and makes my whole computer slow. It can be little things such as launching a program, navigating though my files on my computer, taking a screenshot or opening and running Chrome. It can also be major things such as running games, such as Terraria which I could run at 60 fps all the time before my install, but now can only run at 2 or 3 because my CPU is at 100%. I know there are not processes that are running extremely high, trust me I've checked, and also when my computer is idle it goes down to 20-ish% or rarely down to 2% I was running Windows Ultimate 32 bit previously and decided to upgrade to Windows Ultimate 64 bit so I can run my 64 bit only Adobe programs. I bought a 2TB external hard drive to put my files on and an extra 2GB stick of RAM.
I did a clean install of Windows and noticed that my CPU ran at 100% (I had not installed any drivers instead of my Graphics Card, Network Card, Sound Card and External Hard Driver). I though it might have been a dud install, so I reinstalled 64 bit a second time. This time I installed all my driver for every component in my computer, but again 100%. I decided to go back to 32 bit, however it lagged so bad I couldn't even reach the login screen. I decided to give 64 bit one more chance. I installed all drivers and essential programs, but again like I've seen so much, 100%.I decided to go to Windows 8 64 bit Pre Release. The first time I tried to install it, I tried keeping all my apps, settings and personal files, but my CPU ran at 100% so it took 6 hours and failed at the end. I tried once again, but it failed the same way. I then burned the ISO to a disc and did a clean install of it. Again, the same problem arose and my CPU runs at 100%.
i got a problem with my PlugPlay service in Windows 7 Ultimate x86, when there has passed about 12hours more or less somethings it goes crazy like this:[URL]

(intel dual core CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 320GB HDD, Intel GMA950.) windows lime mail 2011 (latest build) uses way too much cpu 60% or so and RAM usage goes up to 300MB and more. renders pc unusable after some time it just starts not responding. have to end task.
i like to go change open windows using alt+tab, but its seems it can only open active IE9 tab is there a way using alt + tab see all the tabs open in IE9
I have an ASUS K53E with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. The issues I'm experiencing CPU usage sky rockets to 100% at start up. The only programs I have installed are Google Chrome and Audacity(a free audio editor(lightweight)). I purchased the computer less than 6 months ago. It also freezes constantly. I took it into Best Buy 2 weeks ago for tech support. They stated that the memory and hard drive are in working order through their testing. I have also ran tests and found the same thing. They stated that the issue is Windows 7 and they wanted $200 bucks to fix it, but they didn't tell me the specific problem.
-I've restore the computer to a repartition twice. Still froze.
-I've ran CCleaner and othe registry fixer-uppers. No go.
I have a HP Notebook with 4GB of memory. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. The processor is Intel i3 2.20GHz. I have the free AVG installed as my anti virus program and I believe that I am getting some inaccurate reports from it. The following has happened three times witnin the past couple of weeks: A message pops up that says, "AVG has reported Internet Explorer is in high memory usage. It is recommended that you close some of the programs that are open." Those may not be the exact words but basically that is what it was telling me. I had no applications open and had only two or maybe three at the most pages open. I would certainly think that 4GB of memory would take care of having three pages open in IE. Could it be that AVG is just giving some false reports?
i got this problem playing high performance games..When i enter the following games (below) my graphic hits 75 - 85 celcius (what worries me is the world of warcraft... It's only on HIGH and it goes to almost 90 celcius)
World of warcraft (high) Battlefield 3 (Ultra) Guild wars 2 (Ultra)
I was reading abit about this problem on google and saw a person telling another one that was having the same problem as me that a PSU could heat up your GPU if it is just under your GPU.. - My PSU is not far from my GPU and the fan on my PSU is almost just up against my GPU so i kinda wonder can a PSU really heat up my GPU that much?My cousin got a very tiny case for his pc, he got a gtx 560ti and hits 65 - 70 celcius and goes 50fps in stormwind with 60+ players around him and 200 - 250fps outside stormwind. in stormwind i got 20 fps and in world i got 60 - 100 fps. I got a Evga GTX 580 1534MB myself and should be alot better then the gtx 560TI.. He also runs 20 - 30 fps higher then me in Guild wars (60 - 90fps) i am running 30 - 50fps..
I have a computer that was running fine for a year or so, but now its been a couple of days and after an hour or two of use, it slows down and finally freezes. I don't know what it is. The clues I have include:
-I've run memtest86, no errors. -I've scanned the whole system with 4 different virus programs, so not a virus. -But I've noticed that rundll32.exe has been using a lot and I mean a lot of resources. After a couple hours, nortron tells me that it has high disk and cpu usage. I checked core temp, 100% on all 4 amd phenom 955 cores. I don't get it.
Specs are: Amd phenom 955 be 4 gb crucial 1333 ati 5450 1tb hitachi hdd
I recently built a great system. It has the following specs:
Core i5 2500k 3.3GHz Radeon HD 6790 1GB 8 GB of Corsair C9 kit of memory PH67S-C43 (B3) motherboard from MSI. Caviar Black 750gb Greenpower 1TB
The only problem is, it runs very slowly in some applications such as Firefox and Minecraft. I've installed all drivers listed on the MSI website as well as my GPU drivers. Still no luck. I've installed Steam, microTorrent, Microsoft Security Essentials, Java (x64), Adobe Flash, and Adobe Reader X.
Whenever I am on my computer My RAM usage is really high. More than I think I could ever use up! When I am not on an App/ Browser my RAM Usage is still above 50-60%. I also think my internet connection has something to do with it because when ever I try to load a video/website it takes more than 10minutes to load a 30 second video!
I have a very high cpu usage for some reason. I wont even be at my computer and I can hear it working away.Take a look at the picture. I wasn't really even doing anything. I have itunes open, mozilla, skype but not doing anything.I've looked at the processes and it seems normal. Firefox is always top.
I don't know if I'm just overthinking/worrying too much about my laptop, but my CPU usage lately seems to idle between 10 and 30% even when I'm not doing much. I've noticed that TeaTimer.exe (Spybots real time protection) seems to hog some of this, and I'm not sure if I need it since I have Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware installed. I've also noticed Firefox to be very laggy but this could well be a seperate issue. Also on startup my computer does seem to take up to five minutes to settle down after logging in.What can I do or what should I be checking?
Here's my system information:
Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II P340 Dual-Core Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 6 Stepping 3 Processor Count: 2 RAM: 3834 Mb Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250, 256 Mb Hard Drives: C: Total - 596041 MB, Free - 445133 MB; Motherboard: Acer, JE51_DN Antivirus: avast! And i'm kinda disappointed on its performance compared to some reviews i've seen in the web. It seems that my computer consumes alot of RAM if i'm not mistaken.
Here are my processes and memory usage:
i have 4gb ram installed, but i installed win7 x32bit.
So when i on photoshop or other program that uses alot memory, the ram usage goes to 1.6-1.8 GB. And during that time i felt some lag.
Lately, the cpu usage on my laptop goes very high without no reason. It sometimes bursts from 10 to 100 percent without any apparent reason. Looking into the task manager and sorting the procceses by cpu usage reveals that no single process uses very much cpu, instead about 10-15 percent is used by multiple services each.I run an Asus laptop k73s with an i5 2430m proccesor, an nvidia gt540m, 4 gigabytes of ram and windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. I tried everything from doing registry cleaning and repairing to disk formatting and virus and malware scans. Each attempt to no avail.
Windows 7 sp1 on hp 6550 probook, i5 450M processor with 8gb ram.
Been using this machine for 2 years no problem, suddenly its all freezing up. Any app I start sits and goes to "not responding" and eventually returns, even windows explorer takes minutes to open a folder. Browsers take forever to load a page. Its exactly like a memory leak or a process sucking all the memory, but in task manager cpu usage is v low about 10%, memory usage v low about 40% of 8gb, and no one process is taking lots of memory, Ive rebooted several times no change Ive installed all latest updates no change Ive run scannow and no issues were found Ive run a chkdsk on response was volume is clean ( almost instantly?) Cpu temp is fine at around 55 C
Ive run malwarebytes and found no malware Ive run a full virus scan with Avira and no viruses
Ive done a system restore to as far back as I could go (only to this morning) but no help.
I`m having serious problems with my windows 7 machine. It started yesterday when I was getting blank screens. TOday I turned on and its running very slow, freezing up and i noticed an svchost.exe process was using about 6gb of ram. I had to reboot about 5 times just to geta taskmanager up and then it would freeze up again. I tried a windows restore to about 4 days before incase it was some virus but it hasnt fixed the problem. Everything is ok in safe mode and i`ve tried running dr web virus checker aswell as installing norton antivirus and malwarebytes on an old windows xp installation on the same pc but theyre not finding anything.
Lately my computer has been slow and the CPU Usage Percentage is very high varies from 5 to 90%.I scanned my computer using updated Kaspersky anti-virus(in normal and safe mode) and also malwarebytes ANTIMALWARE but still the problem persists.
I have noticed when Iam downloading at full speed of 1.8MB/s on Wifi or LAN there is high DPC/IR (Deferred Procedure Calls and Interrupt Requests) CPU usage - and when transferring files in or out to USB hdd.. i sometimes get pops & clicks in audio too - the CPU is a Turion 1.8Ghz x2 with 1Mb L2 cache and 2Gb of ram, DPC/IR can only be seen using Resource Monitor in windows 7 (type 'resource monitor' into startsearch) or using Process Explorer software, I dont know much about DPC/IR but as far as Im aware it handles errors or something like that and I was told it should never even go beyond 1% cpu usage - its more noticeable on laptops as these have CPUs that arent as powerfull as desktops and have wifi, it seems to be worse with wifi. it causes latency problems in windows too and things like audio playback get pops & clicks and windows & apps become sluggish.
What brought it too my attention was the CPU fan on my laptop was on all the time and windows seemed to be sluggish when I was downloading even though uTorrent was just using 3-5% CPU, I noticed the total at bottom of Task Manager seemed to be more than what would tally up in the window, it was when i used resource monitor that I seen it.
WiFi @ 1.8MB/s = 10-15% DPC/IR cpu usage LAN @ 1.8MB/s = 5% DPC/IR cpu usage
Copying Files to USB HDD = 15% DPC/IR cpu usage (this test was odd as it was some time ago i done this one, but I remember it was either IN or OUT that had the increase, probably IN (and OUT was <1%) , I tried SDcard too and got varying results)ive even seen it max at 40% when downloading on wifi and copying a file in/out too usb hard-drive at the same time...
I've been having a problem where svchost.exe is using 25% of my CPU (X4 630) and 1GB+ of RAM.I tracked this down to the Schedule service but still don't know why it's happening. The Tasks that run (in case someone happens to know that one of these is known to cause this problem) are:Calibration LoaderCleanMem Mini Monitor GoogleUpdateTaskUser HotStart MsCtfMonitor MSIAfterburner QueueReporting RacTask RealUpgradeLogonTask SystemSoundService SystemTask UserTask
i have a problem with my computer. It is a ASUS K53U. The computer is barely one month old and it already slooooow. It is always around 88-100% cpu usage, and when i open example spotify its always 100%.
I'm using Windows 7 premium with 3GB ram. please help! because i know that this is not normal
I was using vista x86 up untill windows 7 came out, it was the I decided to go for my first x64 operating system. I have an i7 and 3gb ram.
Ever since I've moved over, games take up a stupid amount of memory, they'll go to 80 - 90%. I recently decided to install Crysis Warhead as I never got round to completing it, last time I played it I was on vista x86 and it ran fine. However now, it takes forever to load and/or freezes because there's no memory left.
I've tried setting the page file at 200 - 1024, 1024 - 1024 and turning it off, none of that makes a difference. I tried increasing it to 4096-4096 just out of curiosity, that managed to load the game, however, while I did have a constant 50-60fps I was lagging really badly and had 91% ram usage.
Am I missing something here, does anyone else have this issue?
When I leave the laptop on standby, and come back to it after 10 minutes, the fans are blowing loudly. I have a CPU gadget which monitors CPU usage, and I see that right when I resume from standby (move the mouse), CPU usage drops to normal.
At first I thought Security Essentials is doing some scanning or windows is indexing some files, but this happens every time the computer is idle for longer than 10 minutes. I have a suspicion that my laptop could be part of a bot network.
