I have just installed the new RC version of Win 7 and getting to grips with it and along the way discovering which software or existing applications will run on/with the new OS, so far not that many problems and Win 7 has XP mode/virtulisation, a very good application but something to be wary of IMO.
My problem lays with my Nokia N 95 8gb phone.
There are no more firmware updates for my phone, but I use the Nokia software to make back ups of my phone contents to my PC, again no problems, under Windows XP home or under Win 7.
I have the most recent Nokia software but am running into problems under Win 7, my Belkin bluetooth dongle and my phone can no longer find each other.
What I do get sometimes is a window informing me some Bluetooth peripheral is missing or can't be found, basically there are some drivers missing but I'm not sure if it's in the nokia software/updater or Win 7, iIf I try to update drivers, I can't boxes are greyed out.
The next issue and I guess connected to the above and a lot more troublesome for me is I use my phone a lot as a camera and upload my pictures using a Belkin Bluetooth dongle, never had a problem until today,
I can not get the phone to recognise or connect to the dongle or vice versa under WIN 7, I cannot transfer a photo from my phone to my PC using Bluetooth, the phone informs me of a failed connection.
The dongle firmware has been updated.
Not a problem I thought, I'll install and run the original dongle software and the original Nokia PC suite software in Win 7 XP mode,( which is XP pro ), nothing doing, I'm running in to the same brick wall and problem.
This has surprised me a bit as everything worked great under my old OS, XP Home.
I have looked at the Nokia forums, no joy, although there does appear to be issues.
Where does the problem lay, can I get my Nokia phone/ bluetooth to run under WIN 7 or in XP mode?
SLB: Motorola RAZR V3 - Vista USB Drivers - & Windows XP 64-bit Install
The installation says It does not recognize my system's operating system, which makes me believe that I'll have to use XP or Vista to charge my cellphone. Does anyone know a way around this, such as maybe running Vista as an emulation to use the correct drivers?
Only other way I can think of doing this would be to fix my first mistake by repartioning the hard drive so I can dual boot Win 7 and Vista (I'm a little impulsive...).
I am using sony vaio vpcf121GX for 3 months since first day i am not able to use its Bluetooth In device manager bluetooth is properly installed software of Widcomm is installed Icon of blue tooth is available in system tray Even my mobile phone can detect my laptop as blue tooth device but when i am trying to pair it my phone shows message "the other device is not responding".
Received an iPhone 4 S. D/loaded iTunes (for 64bit) and installed. Connected phone via usb port.iTunes does not show phone icon; no connection or synchronisation can occur.I have spent ages looking on the Apple site (boy they are tricky over there!) and the trouble shooter offered didn't help.As far as I can tell it's a conflict problem possible with anti virus (MSE).What I don't know how to do is: -properly test the usb port (which works fine for remote mouse plug in, any temporary flash drives via a hub) and test for what is preventing the two from recognising one another.
I want to be able to connect my laptop to my G1 PDA phone using VNC client. Problem is laptop is on my wireless network and PDA is on t-mobile how do you connect them both? Used IP address but not working?
I am using windows 7 ultimate. I want to use the 3g internet and the ADSL connection together for better speeds. Is it possible? If yes, how do I do that?
that will farward an incoming phone call to another number. I guess I'd need two phone lines (One for the incoming call and one for the outgoing call) which would be no problem. My phone company offers farwarding but I need to log and record all the calls and so I actually need the calls to be routed via a PC in my office.
My company recently gave me an Windows 8 phone (Nokia Lumia 920). It's a great phone but when I plug it into my Windows 7 "N Edition" laptop it cannot find drivers for it. My wife's Vista laptop, however, does.
I've heard that downloading the Zune software should instal them, but Zune won't install because it can't find Media Player. It would be great if I could just download the Windows Phone drivers from Microsoft, but for some reason that's just not possible.
I recorded a video on my HTC EVO & it will not play nor has ever played. It says sorry this video cannot be played on the phone & on my computer it will not play either. I use VLC to playback on the computer. I have used handbrake and vlc to try in convert it but with out success. I am desperate to have this video play. These are the error messages when trying to play on VLC;
main error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (jitter of 17382 ms ignored) main error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called main error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay increased to 5135 ms)
i am wondering how i might be able to download a picture from my windows 7 laptop to my samsung gt-s3550 mobile phone or download a picture a picture to my fujifilm finepix z digital camera i have tried everything to find and activate bluetooth but without success.
I want to try to stream my Music on PC to my Samsung Galaxy Gio which uses Android Marketplace over my wifi home connection.
Kind of like how you use for Windows Media Center/Music with Xbox 360. i tried some programs and all requires sign up and hosting a server or something and i just want to stream it.
I'm having trouble getting the Phone Dialler to do what I want it to. I'm trying to get it to prefix all UK mobile numbers (i.e. numbers beginning 07) with the access code 18185. My latest attempt is to save the number in Outlook Contacts in the format (07) 970 111231, and to create a dialler rule for "area code" 07 which dials 18185 plus the area code. This seems to be dialling the access code correctly since it's going to the right service provider, but the service provider is then telling me that the number dialled is incorrect. If I dial the number manually (i.e. if I dial 1818507970111231) then it works fine. How do I tell exactly what Windows Dialler is dialling? Is there a log file of similar?
I had a grand vision of grandeur. I'm planning on buying a Nokia Lumia 900 running the Windows Phone 7 on it when the phone comes out soon. Being a designer, I had to design a dock to plug in the phone to charge and sync and the idea came: what if I could use my awesome stereo and my awesome Windows 7 to make the dock into an awesome home phone?
What it would be is a mic built into the dock that is connected to the phone so when someone calls me, I don't need to pick the phone up. And if I can with the Windows Phone, I can have the audio out from the call be recognized in Windows 7 as in audio input and I can have my puter's audio output to my awesome stereo to hear the call from my speakers.
The stickler is, as is with every grand vision of grandeur, can it happen? I don't know for sure what to do to get the audio out from the phone to connect with Windows 7.
I was able to activate my Windows 7 Home Premium through the phone method. However recently I attempted to activate Windows 7 on another computer and after calling the automated number and reading the code, the system is unable to verify it. However I noticed something strange. Upon trying different activation keys, the 9 segment code to be read back to the automated system doesn't change. No matter what activation key I use, the code remains the same. Could this mean something, as to why I am unable to activate my copy of Windows 7?
